My shower is a veritable convener belt of hair products. I’m always rotating different ones in and out, and rarely will the same thing stay in there for weeks or months, but it does happen occasionally when I love something A LOT, which is happening right now — this very second! — with $29 R+Co Analog Cleansing Foam Conditioner.
UGH, it’s so good, babe! Like change-your-life good.
Analog cleansing conditioner is unlike anything I’ve ever used. It’s a foam, man! A foam! And it’s airy and light like the top layer of a pumpkin spice latte.
It has moisturizing argan oil and antioxidant-rich green tea, and it doesn’t have harsh mineral oil, parabens or sulfates.
Metaphorically, the fragrance is fresh, fancy, young and expensive to me, with notes of orange, fig, guava, musk and some other things that I can’t put my finger on… I’ll call it “new money minimalist.” It reminds me of something Pinrose would do.
You use it like a regular cleansing conditioner. You wet your hair, massage the foam from roots to ends, then rinse. Unlike most cleansing conditioners, however, many of which leave a film behind and make your hair feel heavy with product, Analog’s frothy foam rinses out completely and makes my hair feel full, light and bouncy, even when I conditioner-wash multiple days in a row.
The end result is clean, hydrated hair with volume.
Oh, and most importantly, when I use it, my hair actually feels clean! You know how some cleansing conditioners leave your scalp feeling like you’re the human version of Pigpen from Peanuts? Like they left behind a layer of sweat and grime in your roots, even though you massaged the living crap outta your hair and thoroughly rinsed, leaving you to feel like a filthy beast?
Yeah, Analog doesn’t do that. The foam breaks down all the oil, grease and dirt on my roots, my scalp and my strands. When I step out of the shower, my scalp feels legit clean.
It’s gentle on color, too, and I’m convinced that over the past month and a half I’ve used it, it has helped my new color last significantly longer and slowed down the usual rate of fading.
Analog is also designed for all hair types — thin hair, thick hair, curly hair and cat hair (just kidding) — so everyone can experience its glory.
Before I found it, I was stuck on IGK’s Smoke & Mirrors Cleansing Oil, which I think is also good, but this… This is epic! 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Ooh, I’m curious, especially since it sounds like it smells good!

So pretty! How long does a bottle last you? (Or do you know yet?)
I’ve been co-washing recently (exclusively, actually), but haven’t done anything on the higher end yet… mostly because I typically have to wash daily, and don’t wanna spend big bucks on something I’m going to need to replace in like 3 weeks!

Hi Shannon,
I’ve been using it for about a month now, and guessing by the weight of what’s remaining in the bottle, I think it should last between 6-8 weeks total. I have a LOT of hair, though, and it’s long. Depending on length and frequency I think one could stretch it out between two and three months.

Awesome! That’s incredibly helpful 🙂 I’ve been using low-end stuff that is “fine,” but have to admit… the plastic-y fragrances are getting to me. 😛 I’m ready to indulge a little, lol!

Happy to help. 🙂 It’s kind of hard to tell how much is left in the bottle (I really wish there was an indicator or something!) so you’ll have to judge by weight as you go along. The great thing is you only have to use very little. Sometimes I use just the tiniest amount — just enough to clean my roots — and then I let whatever product is leftover move through the rest of my hair as I rinse it out. My hair still feels clean!

I’m going to march myself to the store right now! As someone who has had colorful hair for 10+ years (way before the trend started), I’m not supposed to wash daily, but I cannot help it. I go to the gym almost daily, and I have a ton of hair. Not washing it would be a sin! I’ve tried dried conditioners and other balmy cleansing conditioners, but I hate them. If this actually leaves the hair feeling clean, then it’s going to be a lifesaver!

Hi Christina,
What drives me crazy is when sweat pools up in the back of my head… UGH! I have to wash of it out every time I get sweaty now. Anyway, I hope you like this. I usually get R+Co at Space NK; there’s also a salon in my town that carries the line so you may want to see if there’s a salon near you that has them. I’m going to get another bottle soon because I won’t be able to deal with NOT having this around, LOL! It’s that serious!
Christina says
Oh yea, I totally forgot that there are Space NK stores in the Bay. I guess I’ll have to make a quick trip to Palo Alto!
I’m lucky I have short hair now, so a bottle should last me a long time (I hope!).
Karen says
I think it will. I don’t use a lot of the product (you can get away with very little) and am still very happy with the results.
Happy Friday and happy loooooong weekend!

I’ve been using the Christophe Robin Creme Levant au Citron as my conditioning cleanse. I really love it because it’s not too filmy as some. But it costs an arm and a leg and because it has lemon in it, it stings like crayzay if you get it in your eyes. Going to give this one a try.
Love your hair in the photo! And well, the makeup, too!
Karen says
I hope this works out for you! I really want to smell that Christophe Robin cleanser now.

They sell it at Sephora and it comes in travel set sizes. I wonder how much you’d have to use each time for your long, thick hair? I have fine, chin length hair and I use almost a tablespoon every time. I concentrate it on my scalp and just let the rinse carry it through to the ends. It does leave my hair super, silky and soft.
Karen says
I do the same thing with R+CO Analog. Concentrate at the roots, let the water carry it to the ends!
