Becca Fallen Angel Palette: Lip & Cheek Creme in Nectar and Highlighter in Narcissus on cheeks; Lip Gloss in Sunrise on lips
Santa knows if you’ve been naughty or nice, but Becca wants you to be both. Their new Fallen Angel Collection, seven pieces for eyes, face and lips, brings a bit of sugar to your spice.
Tawny peach lips, and cheeks with a hint of honied sparkle, contrast with sooty smokey eyes in shades of black, violet, navy and mauve, resulting in one heck of a wickedly beautiful look.
Love the imagery for this campaign!
I like to think of Becca, a pricey indie line from Australia, as sort of a beach resort-hopping version of Chanel, because I think they handle color in a similarly elegant way, except more relaxed and dressed down.
A lot of their products are waterproof, long-wearing and made to multitask, and, while interesting enough to satisfy fervent color fiends, most of them are still practical enough to wear every day.
The Fallen Angel Palette shown here, one of two palettes in the Fallen Angel Collection, comes with three creamy peach products for a pricey $52. The rather small collection also includes a few individual products (listed below), but sadly none of them are cheap.
All three of them are peaches. The pan in the middle, Lip & Cheek Cream in Nectar, adds a hint of tawny peach to lips and cheeks, Sunrise Lip Gloss (on the left) makes lips shimmer, and opalescent Narcissus Highlighter (on the right) adds a peachy shine to cheeks, eyes, the forehead, chin and down the nose.
The Entire Becca Fallen Angel Collection
- Enigma Palette for eyes, $49
For smokey eyes, try this trio of moody powder eyeshadows in Armure (a soft fawn with a demi matte) Silensia (a smokey denim matte) and Surah (a mauve shimmer).- Line & Define Slim Pencil in Santorini, $23
This skinny dual-ended pencil has a navy eyeliner on one end and a flesh-toned eye brightener on the other.- Line & Illuminate Jumbo Pencil in Belize, $23
This jumbo pencil for smokey eye looks comes with a sooty blackish violet eyeliner on one end and a smokey grayish mauve illuminator on the other.- Eye Tint in Pewter, $24
This rich grayish black cream eyeshadow glides on as a cream but dries to a powder finish, and it makes for a perfect base for dark smokey eyes.- Fallen Angel Palette for lips and cheeks, $52
The creamy peaches in this palette make dark eyes impossible to overlook.

Speaking of angels, it’s one of my favorite Madge songs, evah!
Hope you’re having a good weekend. 🙂 It’s raining cats (sorry, Tabs!) and dogs here today.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Heidi says
Peach! Navy! Oh, these are my colors! Good thing they’re not more readily available or I’d be in deep trouble with those prices…. when it’s online I can (sometimes) resist temptation. Those look gorgeous, though…..
It’s been raining off and on today up in Sonoma County, too. I hope it lets up a bit tomorrow, I’ve got places to go, people to see, things to do!
Karen says
Hi Heidi,
That color combo happens to be one of my weak spots too, le sigh!
There’s a Pure Beauty in Corte Madera that happens to carry Becca, btw. 😉 The selection’s small (and I dunno if they have the new collection in yet), but it’s there just in case you get the urge.
The weather’s been yucky around here, too. Did you guys have lightning? Ours was so bad that our windows were shaking!
Heidi says
Corte Madera, huh? Thanks for enabling me, I think! LOL
No lightening up here, thank goodness. Otherwise I would have to peel Missy off the ceiling!
Karen says
You’re welcome, LOL! It’s in the same mall with the West Elm store.
Aww, poor Missy! Tabs was pretty freaked out when the lightning started shaking the windows. He’s still pissed off about the rain though… you know how cats get.
Watcha got planned for the rest of the weekend?
Heidi says
Church this morning (woke up to sun but now it’s clouding up again, so fingers crossed I at least get there dry), then I’m hoping to stop at Whole Foods after to pick up the rest of the veggies I need for Thanksgiving dinner. We had heavy rain last night, but thankfully no thunder and lightening so Missy made it through the night without a nervous breakdown.
Karen says
It’s blue skies down here, so hopefully you were able to avoid the rain. I’m hitting up Whole Paycheck later today! I’m in the mood for something yummy from their salad bar.
Give Missy a big hug for me! Nervous cats need extra lovin’ when it storms, aww.
vonnie says
never heard this song, I like! oh how i wish that i had my 20s in the 80s. where’s a genie when you want one?
Karen says
It’s a Madonna classic. The entire album — which I have on vinyl, YIKES! — is great.
I don’t quite get why young people are so infatuated by the ’80s! It was a rough time, fashion wise!
Amber says
Haha. My husband and I were just talking about the 80s (he is 8 years older than I am). He was expressing distaste for them and said, “I LIVED through them.” I said, “I did, too — and I’m glad I wasn’t dressing myself.”
😀
Karen says
I wish I could have that excuse, LOL! Unfortunately the oversized sweaters and leggings were my idea. 🙁
Amber says
Did you have one of those plastic cones that you put your ponytail through? I had them in a couple different colors!
Karen says
Oh god, yes!! I had a gold one and a silver one. I’d match ’em to my oversized hoop earrings, HAHA!
Heidi says
Made it through church and Whole Foods (can’t call it Whole Paycheck since I got out of there just spending about 8 bucks), and no rain! It’s so weird…. a friend from church was talking about her cats freaking out from the thunder yesterday…. she lives no more than three miles from me and at my house we had no thunder. I will give Missy that hug as soon as I can get ahold of her. She’s being aloof today, probably blames me for the weather!
Ronda says
Oh, what a beautiful collection! I love the advertising imagery, too. I’m a sucker for a smokey eye!
Karen I found your blog a few weeks ago and I’m crazy over it. I love all the photos you post to show samples and swatches. You are a very good writer and I hope I don’t embarrass you when I compliment you on your eyes? They are always smiling and twinkle-y 🙂
Karen says
Hi Ronda,
It’s very nice to meet you! I’m glad you popped in to say hi. How long have you been into makeup? What are your fave brands?
Talk to you soon!
Nina says
Peaches, ahh love them big time (both real ones and as make up colors). And strangely enough, fallen angels and peachy tones get along well in my imagination.
Karen says
Me too! I’m craving peach pie at the moment, but this tube of Haagen Daz coffe ice cream will just have to do!
How’s your weekend been?
Nina says
Weekend’s been very ‘meh’ for me, just chillin’ at home, reading Harry Potter n.7 to get ready to see the movie. Hope i can see it tomorrow and hope it is good, i’m a big fan. And hope you’re having a good weekend too =)
Karen says
I saw it last night! I won’t give out any spoilers, but I did enjoy it very much. One of these days I’ll get around to reading the series!
My weekend’s been pretty chill… it rained and stormed here all day, gah!
Nina says
Ooh i’m even more excited now! You should definitely read them, they’re absolutely wonderful. Shame on the stormy weather, hope it decides to warm up again!
Karen says
I’ve heard they’re great. One of these days when I have a big stretch of time I’d love to just read the entire series in full. I can’t imagine how it must’ve been for the die hard HP fans who had to wait EONS to get a new book.
Anywho, have fun at the movie tomorrow!
Appu says
Nectar is beautiful! 🙂 I have never tried anything from Becca. Are there any stores where I can find them? The website lists some Salons, but all of them are quite far!
Karen says
Hi Appu,
The only place I’ve seen the line in store is at Pure Beauty and Neiman Marcus. If you have those stores nearby you might want to give ’em a try!
Kristen says
I like that lip palette, and I almost never like lip palettes 🙂
But what I really like is your shirt!
Karen says
Hi Kristen,
It’s very pretty, isn’t it?
As for the shirt, it’s an ancient one
from Old Navy!I think I got it two years ago?Uh…where’s my head at? You probably meant my MBB shirt. At first I thought you were talking about my green and white shirt from another post. I made the MBB one using cafepress.com. 🙂
Amber says
That promo pic is GORGEOUS. Brown-eyed girls have all the [makeup] fun!
Karen says
I love that promo pic too! I wish my bangs looked like the girl on the left… yeah, so not happening. 🙂
How’s your weekend been?
Amber says
Weekend is good! Lots of prep for Thanksgiving. Yesterday I made cake truffles and cinnamon-eggnog scones. Today I’m making ice cream (flavor TBD) and parmesan-rosemary gougeres.
Poor Mark is on day two of five 12-hr days in a row, plus he has two nights of a 3-hr class right after work and one 1-hr class. It’s all training for participating in a really awesome study, but he is going to be a giant ball of stress by Thanksgiving. I plan to give him a BIG glass of wine before the family arrives!!
Karen says
Um, can I come over and gorge? LOL… I’m so hungry right now. We haven’t gone shopping since we’re about to leave for Hawaii so all I’ve been eating for the past few days is bullsh*t food. Cake truffles and scones sounds divine right now. As for the ice cream I vote for Nutella or pumpkin flavor!
Your poor hubby sounds like a busy bee! Well, when the holiday rolls around at least you guys will be able to relax a little. Wine will be a must, for sure.
Amber says
We have the opposite problem — we did all of our Thanksgiving shopping last week, so we’re trying not to eat everything before Thursday! I still have to make one more trip to Whole Foods, which I am dreading, but I only need chorizo and flowers so hopefully I can zip in and out.
I think the ice cream is going to be cinnamon. We bought some snickerdoodle ice cream and it is AMAZING but it’s almost gone and I’m not going back to HEB until after the holiday.
Come on over, nobody will miss a few truffles or scones! 😀
jojoba (My Makeup Reviews) says
oh love this look! i am going to check these palettes out. not sure if we have them though.
you look really nice!
Karen says
Thanks, Jojoba. I hope you can find ’em out your way.
Tessa says
Wow! But the price is waaaaayy to high! And this seems like more of a summer collection to me…
Karen says
Hi Tessa,
Good observation! The line’s out of Australia, where it’s summer right now!
switch says
I LOVE your look here Karen. So radiant and glowy!
Fieran says
Hm, I have never tried anything from Becca. Perhaps someday I will. Right now I’m trying to use some of the new stuff I bought (more like hauled) from the US. I picked up the last piece of Chanel Les Tentations quad t duty free and I’m trying to make some good use of it (but it gives me some major fall out, I look like a Christmas ornament!). I also need to foray into pigments seeing as I have a few but have not touched them yet. I keep worrying that I’ll hit the tub or something and there’ll be beautiful pigment all over my bathroom floor. *SHUDDER* Do you have any tips for using/handling pigments?
You look nice btw, the MBB T-shirt is cool. Harry Potter was definitely a good watch but I wish it wasn’t split in two parts and now we have to wait 8 months for the next part. Do read the books if you can because they are really fun especially if you have vivid imagination 🙂
Karen says
Hi Fieran,
Which brush are you using with your Chanel quad? If you’re having trouble perhaps try something like the MAC 239. It controls powder very well.
As for pigment, I usually place a paper towel down on the counter before I start working, and then keep the pigment jars sitting on top of it just in case I accidentally knock something over (makes it easier to pick up the product and put it on the jar). With the larger jars, I sprinkle a little product on the inside of the lid, and then pick up the product from the lid. With the smaller ones (like the ones from A Tartan Tale), I’ll sprinkle a wee bit on the back of my hand or if I have a small plate I’ll it on there.
Here’s a post I wrote about MAC Pigments a while back that you might find helpful, too:
https://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/mac-makeup/mac-pigments-made-easy/
As for HP, I still haven’t read the books! I’ll get around to the series one of these days, sigh.
Fieran says
The 239 is always not in stock when I’m at the MAC store unfortunately, so I use 242 instead and 217 as well. I’l look for the 239 one of these days 🙂 Will read your Pigment tips, thanks! 🙂
Marina says
Wow Karen, you look fab! You’re glowing! Love the tee, too 😉
Karen says
Thanks, Marina! 🙂
The glow’s all because of the highlighter… it’s good stuff!
How’s your Sunday going so far?
knownever says
If the promo photos are any indication, the eyeshadow palette looks amazing too.
Karen says
Hi Knownever,
It does. I’m lusting for the eye palette, the navy liner and the Eye Tint, big time.
Nina says
such a pretty stuff! i <3 the look you came up with using the products! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Nina,
Happy Sunday! From what I’ve seen so far this collection is just plain beautiful.
How are you doing today?
Nina says
headachy … but hanging in there. 🙂
im about to go for a walk, maybe it will chase my headache away! 🙂
Marina says
Becca is one of the best brands out there, it is in my top 5! I absolutely love this collection and can’t wait to get the beach tint trio, maybe I will get something else. I have a lot of their pdoducts and almost all of them I would highly recommend, the price is ok for such quality.
I only wish it was easier to get it, I always get it online…
Love the t-shirt of course 😉
Marina says
Karen, I guess you’ve made a mistake. Becca website says that this palette is $45, not $52 http://www.beccacosmetics.com/NEW-PRODUCTS/c31/p235/Fallen-Angel-Palette/product_info.html
Karen says
Actually, I received the price list from a contact at Becca. I’ll have to confirm with them to see which is the correct price. Thanks!
Krissy says
Happy Sunday! The line is gorgeous.. so fresh-faced and awake.
Merylynmagic says
Hi Karen!!
I’m very keen on getting the Enigma shadow palette and the Belize eye definer/illumator pencil… they sound gorgeoussss!!!! Will you be reviewing them as well? Hope you are having a great weekend!! 🙂
Jasmine says
I love those peachy/coral shades, beautiful palette !
Kim says
Those are definitely beautiful! And, sweet shirt, btw. 🙂
