I’d been missing Tabs something terrible even BEFORE I saw Stila’s new Smudge Pot in Kitten ($20) at Sephora the other day…
It’s a shimmery cream shadow that doubles as a liner — the cream version of Stila’s cult classic powder eyeshadow in Kitten.
Pale pinks like this really perk up my eyes when I look tired (read: often), and this one applies and builds easily. I use my finger to pat it on my lids, where it stays put for hours.

I like it for quick and casual day looks. I’ll usually wear it as a wash over the lids, with black liner smudged along the upper lash line. 🙂
Freaking out at the eruption of the fake volcano at the Mirage Hotel across the street!
You might like Stila Smudge Pot in Kitten if…
- You like the color of Stila’s regular Kitten
- You like easy makeup looks
- You want another way to brighten tired eyes
Fellow fans of the original Stila Kitten powder shadow, keep your eyes peeled for this version, too. You might like what you see. 🙂 Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A

Ohh the pots are so cute! I’ve never used a cream shadow before – would you mind going over the pros/cons? I’ve only ever used pressed shadows (without primer), and usually only dark blacks or purple shadows to line.

Ahhh! Must have immediately! My makeup obsessed bff, Stef, taught me about the wonders of Stila’s Kitten (she gifted it to me on my bday one year) and I love, love, love cream shadows. Can’t wait to get my hands on this!
And I’m sure Tabs misses you but is having a nice, relaxing time – Just lazing around, eating tons of kibble and sleeping in sun spots while your gone!(that’s what my cat Giles, does at least)

I bet Tabs is missing you too. Cats are so funny when their owners are away. Our cat Hobo was really confused when my dad was away for a couple of weeks recently. She was even more confused when he came back smelling like dog! He’d been dog-sitting for my Uncle and Hobo wasn’t impressed at all!
Its weird that you should post about this, I was thinking this afternoon about how badly I want it.
I think I’ll end up resorting to good old Ebay as its near-impossible to get Stila over here.
I’m not sure if its a paintpot that you have, but do you know how it compares colour-wise to Bare Study? Are they similar?

I like the color in the pot better. The swatch looks a lil bit different from the product in the pot. Your second photo is :))… no comment on that

I’ve been curious about these Stila pots. Wasn’t there someplace (maybe the Stila website) that had 4 of them for some great deal? If that’s still an option, I’m thinking about it 🙂
How does this Kitten color compare to UDPP in Sin? It looks like it might have a little more color, but similar coloring.

I saw the Barbie smudge pots last time I was at Sephora and was intrigued… this one looks super pretty, and believe me, I need all the help I can get when it comes to looking more awake!

I tried this at Sephora last week, and you’re right — it made my whole face look more awake! Super easy for rushed mornings, too. 🙂

Very pretty! How’s the staying power compared to Benefit creaseless cremes?
Christy says
Hmm, probably not. I have Kitten eyeshadow and I find it to be a bit too glittery. I prefer using MAC Jardin Aires for a quick and easy eye look.

I think Stila is starting to overdo it with kitten. I was in love when i first found it, and i guess enough people are still finding it for the first time that it’s still hot, but i’m feeling a little too much of a good thing ish about it. which is a bummer

I would love to adopt a Stila Kitten if I could find Stila at my Sephora. I would stop by and check. It looks very different in the pot and swatched though.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this color! I tried it on the other day. But… It doesn’t look good on me. I’m about the same skin color as you and it looks whitish on my skin, even if it’s barely there 🙁 Maybe if it were more gold.

Stila Kitten is my all time favorite shadow! It is so easy to use for quick pretty eye and I find it hard to find other shadows with that type of shimmer! I never loved the kitten lip glosses, but another shadow…must have!

I’m so eager to try this! I’ll be buying this as soon as Sephora’s F&F starts 🙂

HAHA your facial expression in that last photo is priceless

Tell Tabs I say hello (so do my kitties) and give him lots of pets!
Ohhh, I love this stuff. I have really bad insomnia and thus am plagued by the under eye circles of death. I sometimes like to use cream shadow to help me look less like a freaking corpse, and while I absolutely love Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Shadow in Birthday Suit — purchased per your suggestion — I do like a little variety, so I bought Kitten.
Glosslizard — Kitten is a little lighter in color and more pink than Birthday Suit, and the texture of the Smudge Pots is a little less creamy than the Creaseless Creams. Luckily, it’s spreadable enough to serve as a shadow in addition to as a liner. Also, I use primer with the Benefit shadows to make them last longer, and I don’t with the smudge pots. UD’s primer made the smudge pot clump on my eyelids; it was more like kitty litter than Kitten. 🙁
Karen says
Hi L,
Aww… more kitty litter than Kitten.
I’m so glad you are lovin’ Benefit Birthday Suit. Isn’t it the best on those days you’re looking tired and feeling rushed? I swear it’s my BFF. 🙂
I just gave Tabs some extra lurvies for you! He sends you purrs and kitty love.
