Botany enthusiasts/luxury makeup lovers who like late afternoon gardening and subtle colors will love Aerin Beauty’s new A Garden at Dusk Face Palette.
Um…yeah, that’s a very targeted market. 🙂
The second of two $70 limited edition eye and cheek palettes in Aerin Beauty’s spring line (A Garden in Bloom is the first) shares many traits in common with its equally expensive sibling, like pretty packaging; subtle, cool-toned, sheer shades; and easy-to-blend powders.
First thing? Wow, $70. That’s a lot. I find myself wanting more — I don’t know — pigment for the price. More something, for sure.
I like the barely-there look, the quality of these powders and the overall vibe, but A Garden in Dusk, like A Garden in Bloom, faces stiff competition from less expensive products and other brands. I do think it’s lovely, but there’s no way around it — $70 is a lot.
PRICE: $70
AVAILABILITY: Available now online and at Aerin Beauty counters and Bergdorf Goodman stores

Again, looks like colors that can be duped. I am sure I can find these colors in my MAC collection.
Kiss & Make-up says
Hmmm, not too impressed with the shades.
virginie says
I like the shades lot actually! But 70 box, and this packaging,…..nop!
Danii says
Wow. I’m shocked by the blush. It looks like… Very faintly pink-colored dirt. The eyeshadows are also very unimpressive thanks to the lack of pigment. The lightest shade also looks funny.
Chelsea says
I’d think that blush would make you look muddy. Colors are kind of a snooze-fest.
Karen says
LOL, Chelsea. Sometimes I feel that way about UD Naked knock offs. I love neutrals, but c’mon now!
Chelsea says
I wear neutrals most of the time, and even I get bored of the Naked (and Naked 2) knockoffs, because most of the companies haven’t done it as well as UD. It was a really creative product creation at the time, now it’s been done, someone needs to come up with the next big thing in eyeshadow palette trends.
Karen says
I’m betting it’ll be brights. These things tend to swing back and forth, ya know?
Whatever the next big thing is, I hope it’s not vibrating mascara wands again, LOL!
Marisa Anderson says
Like all the shade of the purple shadow a lot. Really like the cute packaging that it comes in. Beautiful!
Karen says
Hi Marisa,
The purple’s cool, I just wish it had a little shimmer, you know?
Becca @ The Beauty Sample says
Wow the blush turns VERY brown! I was excited about it originally but I don’t know now…I think the pink tones would only be very apparent on paler, cooler tones and because I have light-medium warm tones, I think I will pass
Karen says
You’ll still probably like the other palette, I bet!
Monica P says
Yeah, $70 is a lot of money for this set and it doesn’t grab me like a Dior or Chanel product .. 😛
Monica.
Karen says
Chanel always gets my heart beating, Monica. 🙂
nik says
I like the packaging, but the colors…aren’t for me…if you catch my drift.
Karen says
I feel ya, Nik! Are you more into brights?
Minsooky says
$70 seems a bit steep, considering those shadows are dupe-tastic.
Karen says
Hi Minsooky,
Yeah, it’s definitely made for a very specific client. It’s okay…
Patty says
$70? No, thanks. Pretty colors, but not worth that much money.
Karen says
So pricey, I know!
