VIKTOR & ROLF Flowerbomb 10th Birthday Set

Here’s a floral bombshell for ya: Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb is 10 years old.

Can you believe that…? It came out a decade ago, and I remember that, too. I remember my perfume junkie friends basically losing their sh*t, LOL!

So many scents have come and gone since then, but Flowerbomb stood the test of time. It’s a floral oriental with notes of jasmine, rose, orchid and patchouli.

I wore it regularly for a while after it came out, and man! — good memories. El Hub was still El Boyfriend back then… I don’t even think we’d moved in together yet. This was back when El Hub lived in a small one-bedroom apartment in the town of Tiburon, California, back before we knew Sir Tabs. The only cat in our life was the pint-sized black cat who lived with the people next door. She stopped by a lot to say hello, so we named her Sugar…even though that wasn’t her real name. 🙂

I wonder if she’s still around…

Anywho! I put Flowerbomb on my wrists this morning for the first time in years, and it smells just as warm, cozy and ladylike as I remember. If you like Chanel Coco Mademoiselle and Stella, I bet you’ll like it.

To commemorate Flowerbomb’s tenth anniversary, Viktor & Rolf released a special limited edition keepsake boxed set with 10 small 0.24-oz. bottles of Flowerbomb eau de parfum ($130, available now at Viktor & Rolf counters and online).

The inside design kinda looks like sparkly spinning fireworks, doesn’t it?

You know me! — I’m all about that mini makeup life, so I think these are super cute, but it should be noted that all 10 bottles are the same scent, so this was probably made with collectors in mind.

And I don’t know if I’d bring any of the little bottles with me on trips, because they don’t have a screw top, and I can just see myself accidentally spilling one all over my 10 pairs of cat lady socks, LOL!

If you plan to bring one or more of the bottles with you somewhere that involves luggage, I might suggest transferring the fragrance into a travel-sized perfume spritzer first. I got one for free at Nordstrom a while back that I’ll probably use.

Do you remember Flowerbomb as fondly as I do?

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

The packaging is so beautiful! It would make a beautiful gift for a fragrance collector. I think they introduced multiple variations of Flowerbomb throughout the years, I wish they had included some for more variety in the set!

OMG, I can’t even wear many fragrances anymore and I WANT this. LOL
I love the little mini bottles, so convenient for keeping the scent in your purse and also – they will stay fresher if you keep them sealed in a dark cool place. I like the presentation too.

Can’t believe it’s been a decade! It’s my BFF’s fav scent! But I adore their BonBon fragrance!

It would be great to split into gifts for the holidays. I can’t wear it. It’s too flowery for my hubby’s allergies. 🙁

  7. Chris25 says:

The presentation is gorgeous. However, I would skip this because I don’t need 10 bottles of the same scent.

I have a love-hate relationship with the scent! Everyone loves it on me but sometimes I find it too sweet and linear for my tastes! Other times I can swim it and I can’t get enough!

I’m not a Flowerbomb lover – I don’t hate it, but it’s just not what I like. This is super cute though!

It’s super cute but I was never a Flowerbomb fan. I vastly prefer Spicebomb, though the Hubs is a no-fragrance kind of guy. 🙁

Still, FB is such a popular scent – it’s great that they’re doing this birthday box. 🙂

  13. Nikki says:

Dh bought me a gift last night and it was just because. It was a set of three roller ball perfumes. One is flowerbomb. Absoluetly one of my favorutie scents. I have run out and haven’t repurchased yet. I am wearing it today. I can’t believe I have been wearing this scent on and off for ten years!
