Oh, my gawd! It’s so easy to get sucked into the glittery, shimmery, shiny vortex that is the Urban Decay Fall 2016 collection.
My eyes turned into emoji hearts ? the first time I opened the Moondust Eyeshadow Palette ($49), but to my surprise the thing that made me go “WHHHAAAAA!” the loudest was the All Nighter Liquid Foundation ($40).
I’m not a full-coverage matte gal right now. Right now I’m more into dewy finishes and light-to-medium coverage. So I’m fine with my freckles peeking through, but this new foundation could convert me to Team Full-Coverage Matte.
Like, seriously, I used half a pump of shade 7.0, which pretty much a dead ringer for my MAC NC42 skin tone — half a pump, dude! — and I put it on with my fingers, thinking, “Whatever, let’s just see where this goes.”
Somehow, that small amount pretty much covers my entire face. My skin looks even toned, and my pores look smaller, but the finish still looks natural, and not heavy or masky, which is a frequent issues I have with a lot of the full-coverage matte foundations out there (ugh).
If there’s anything in this release worthy of grabby hands, I think it’s Urban Decay All Night Liquid Foundation.
I mean, there’s also some other cool stuff in the collection, like a new line of liquid eyeliners called the Razor Sharp Water-Resistant Longwear Liquid Eyeliners ($22 each).
They have a brush applicator, which usually spells “wonky-@ss line” for me, but not with these, even when I quickly sloosh a small amount of Snakebite (the metallic coppery bronze) on my upper lash lines. The brush is actually very smooth and easy to use!
My lines end up nice and crisp. Oh, and the liquid formula? SO pigmented, and super shiny, too. Plus it dries quickly, so you don’t have to sit there twiddling your thumbs with your eyes closed for days to prevent the liner from transferring from your lash line up into your crease (story of my life).
There’s also a new Moondust Eyeshadow Palette in the collection! It has eight new shades.
My love for the Moondusts already ran deep, but this one made me even more enamored with them. They’re lovely if you like the look of glistening, almost glossy eyes. All you have to do is dip a finger into a pan, pat it on your lids, and you’ve gone from librarian to rock ‘n’ roll in less than 2.5 seconds.
The collection also includes a dark black Perversion Water-Proof Fine-Point Eye Pen ($20), and I like the super skinny point…but I’m going to probably need more alone time with this liquid liner to see if we can be friends, since I’ve had some trubs getting a crisp edge with it.
Lastly, the launch includes a line of $28 color-correcting concealers called the Naked Skin Color Correcting Fluids.
So far, I’ve popped the peach under my eyes to test them, and uh…I didn’t really see a big difference. I still looked pretty tired.
Then again, Connor woke me up at 5:30 that day, so maybe I just needed more industrial strength color-correcting, haha!
I do like the creamy consistency of the corrector, though. It feels just like Urban Decay’s Naked Concealer.
I plan to spend more quality time with these bad boys and use them in looks this week, but so far, I’m really feelin’ the foundation (OMG!!), the Moondust Eye Palette and the Liquid Eyeliners.
As for release dates, the Moondust Palette is available now online, as are the Naked Skin Color Correctors (sephora.com).
I’m not sure on the release dates of the All Nighter Liquid Foundation, the Razor Sharp Liquid Eyeliners and the Perversion Eye Pen, but I think it’s safe to assume they’ll be online and on counters soon.
Holla at me if anything here catches your eye, will ya?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

You have me intrigued about the foundation! I’m looking for a bit more coverage these days, but I can’t deal with the cakeyness of many high coverage foundations.
About the liquid liners, are they any similar to the previous version, the 24/7? They were my favorite liquid liners and I was so sad when they were discontinued.
Karen says
Hi Lulle,
They’re similar in a lot of ways (rich pigment, easy to use brush), but I think they’re even better than the previous version because they don’t seem to lift off when I rub my eyes.
Eesha says
I have been into full coverage foundations lately and trying out a lot of them. I am quite curious to try this foundation also.
Karen says
Hi Eesha,
Ooh, have you found any good full coverage ones?
Eesha says
Hi Karen,
Yeah, I am loving Re(Marc)able foundation lately. It’s awesome. Have you tried it?
Nicole says
I’ve been on the lookout for colourful liquid liners. Definitely have to check out these ones from UD! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Nicole,
The liners are fun and easy to use! I hope you find a shade to fall in love with. 🙂

I ordered the Moondust palette. I can’t wait to get it. I’m glad the new eyeliners are good. I’ll have to get some of those metallics.
Karen says
Hi Rachel,
I think you’ll have a great time with the Moondust Palette. The glitter and the glossy finish, aahhh! It’s too good. 🙂
Say hi to the baby bunnies for me.
Chelsea says
So much glitter! And Snake Bite is such a pretty liquid liner!
Karen says
Hi Chelsea,
Snake Bite is one of those colors that could also work as an everyday shade. Do you ever use liquid liners with brushes like this? I usually have a hard time with them but these are very easy to use.
CrystalCandy says
I need to try the foundation, I hope I can find a good match! So far I love the liquid eyeliners too, the brush is awesome!
Karen says
I hope you can too! It comes in a ton of colors so I think you’ll be able to.
Leah Rose says
The lightyear shadow is beyond gorgeous!
Kiss & Make-up says
Woaaah, those liners look FUN!
LindaLibraLoca says
I am still on the hunt for a matte full coverage foundation for filming, so I will check that one out.
Becky says
Woah! Those eyeliners are incredible! I’m seriously excited about this new foundation. I’m a super oily gal, and much as I love a dewy complexion, sometimes a girl needs not to look like a frying pan one hour after foundation application, y’know?! I like to just bounce a little foundation on with a beautyblender and blend it out, so I reckon a bottle of this will last an age!

What fun colors! I really like the Magnetic and Vega shadows. I’m interested in the foundation too. Sounds like some good stuff in this release!
Karen says
Hey Ruchita,
One really cool thing about the foundation is how it comes in so many shades (24!!!) with lots of different undertones. Hopefully it’ll be really easy to find your perfect shade match.
I’m going to wear it for the rest of the week to see if I can get away with skipping powder. Fingers crossed!

I got the Moondust palette on Sunday and I really like it. Who doesn’t love some glitter, right?
I am really looking forward to trying this foundation though and the eyeliners. Which color do I go for though?? They all look so pretty!
Karen says
You can never go wrong with classic black. I bet you could even pull off that reddish orange!
Erin says
The foundation sounds like it might be worth swatching. Naked just looked too chalky on me.
yelena says
Karen, I would give the peach corrector another try. I thought correctors were just a gimmick, until I tried it at Sephora during my 45min makeover. It make a really big difference for me and I even purchased it online after. Patiently waiting for it to come in the mail as we speak 🙂
so yeah, maybe give it another try. One tip they gave me was to start placing the corrector kind of above the cheek bone and blend up towards your eye for a gradient effect. not sure if that helps 🙂
Tatiana says
Oh my! Lithium, Vega and Galaxy. I would never wear those colors, but they are so, so, so pretty. Since none of the clothes or boots I bought during the Nordstrom for my daughter worked out, maybe I’ll spoil her with the Moondust palette.
Will have to check out that foundation when it’s released.
Nadine says
Those eyeshadows! Galaxy looks so pretty! Makes me almost want to step out of my comfort zone, haha. Gosh, I do understand your tiredness, no concealer, corrector or sticker will ever cover my dark circles.. hope you get some uninterrupted sleep tonight!
Alicia says
Hello, Is the palette permanent?
Amber says
I didn’t know UD was putting out a new foundation, but I’m ridiculously excited with your description of them! I need a bit more coverage than sheer/light to handle my redness and acne prone skin. I’m having a really hard time finding a light enough formula for my 37 year old skin, one that doesn’t look cakey or sink into my pores. I can’t wait until this is available!
Chris25 says
Wow, look at that glitter!
Kim says
I have Perversion in the 24/7 pencil liner but it’s too harsh for me. Same problem with Demolition. The horror of anything that’s not Whiskey. 🙂 I do love the name Moondust and the palette looks like so much glittery fun!
julie says
How do you get your handwriting onto the photos like that? Or is that a special font 🙂
JCarbonel says
Hey Karen, were you also 7.0 in the Naked Skin Foundation? I’m wondering if I would be the same shade in both. I’m a 5.0 in the Naked Skin, but based on your swatches, I can barely tell a difference between 5.0 and 6.0. Decisions decisions!
Sarah says
Hi Karen,
I was really interested in the UD All Nighter Foundation. However, I heard it does oxidize and since it is not in stores yet, I was iffy about buying it online and guessing my shade 🙁 I am about an NC44 in Mac Foundation. Also, do you know how this foundation wears compared to the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation?
Thanks!
yelena says
Karen, I heard there are liquid moondust shadows coming out! do you think you will be able to get those for a review? I am going gaga over the color spacetime, but would love to see your thoughts first!
Ruby Rashid says
Hi! I was just wondering does the shade 7.0 turn oxidise when it’s on your face? I;ve heard it turns a few shades darker 🙁 I’m also an nc42 and not sure whether to get shade 7.0 or 6.0
