I’ve been spending way too much time in the shower lately…
It’s because I’m having such a good time singing (showers have the *best* acoustics!) the virtues of True Blue Morocco Rose Petal and Orange Flower Shower Cream ($15). 🙂
It’s a moisturizing, rose-scented body wash from the new True Blue Morocco collection by Bath and Body Works, and I think it smells amazing!
Morocco me
Inspired by the North African country of Morocco, Rose Shower cream is one of six products in BBW’s latest line of body washes, lotions and scrubs. The collection brings to life some of the scents and symbols of Moroccan culture, like saffron, dates, mint, yogurt, tea and Moroccan rose.
BBW made sure the products don’t just smell good; they work well, too, thanks to cleansing and moisturizing ingredients like shea butter, sweet almond oil and honey.
Atypical Bath and Body Works packaging
I love how exotic and refined Rose Shower Cream’s dark blue bottle looks, like something you’d find in an old world apothecary. It looks like frosted glass, but it’s actually plastic, so you don’t have to worry about dropping the bottle in the shower (like I did).
I’m a packaging ho, and all the bold, jewel-toned colors and minimalist bottles in the True Blue Morocco line really appeal to me. They’re different — not BBW’s typical packaging, which with all the pastels, butterflies and flowers sometimes borders on Limited Too territory. 🙂
Rose and citrus notes
The bottle isn’t the only thing that breaks away from the usual Bath and Body Works fare. Most of BBW’s florals smell very overwhelming and sweet to my nose, so I was expecting a typical BBW brew of intense roses mixed with brown sugar or vanilla.
It was a big surprise to me, but Rose Petal Shower Cream smells fresh, like a concoction of crushed rose petals and orange peels with a dash of almond oil thrown in for good measure — but none too cloying.
Bath and Body Works says Rose Petal Shower Cream includes notes of Moroccan rose petals, orange flower (a traditional ingredient used in the Mediterranean to flavor and add fragrance to waters), soft florals and musk to create a sense of calm and harmony. Ahh…
Creamy AND moisturizing
Texture-wise, Rose Petal Shower Cream feels thick to the touch. The cream creates a rich foam, and when I rinse it off my skin it leaves it feeling lightly moisturized but not sticky. My dry skin loves it!

I’m really psyched about the new True Blue Morocco collection and can’t wait to try more.
Saturday night
I totes have oranges on my mind right now because I had *the best* Orange Dream Machine Jamba Juice of my entire life this afternoon. Fo’ serious, it was… good.
What are you up tonight? I’m making some pasta with marinara sauce for dinner and planning to pop open a bottle of wine that we got last week on our anniversary, yum!
I also FINALLY started a Twitter account this afternoon. It’s all new to me, so I should say that I haven’t exactly figured out how to use it yet (I’m overwhelmed), but so far I like what I see. My Twitter username is karenmbb. See you there! 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Hey Karen! I just added you on twitter!
I am dying to try the lotion and warming scrub from the Moroccan line.
Karen says
Hi Tiffany,
The warming scrub looks yummy. I want to try that next! As for the lotion, I am testing it right now. So far, thumbs up!

Oh dear….haven’t been trying the last few LE stuff from BBW. But I am so lemming for this now….hope Hubby will get me this soon….I am starting to get a little bored of the BBW shower gels and body lotions I am currently using now. 😉

Hi Vonvon,
Yah, this is very different than what they usually put out.
Which BBW lotions/shower gels are you using right now?
Stef says
Hee, I just bought the Moroccan Tea & Cucumber Shower Gel from the same line yesterday! I had a real hard time picking, all 3 shower products were delish (the 3rd being Saffron and Fig).
I was excited to try the Warming scrub too. But guess what? It’s kinda stinky. I smelled a bit of licorice in there that made me put it right back on the shelf. Make sure you sample this in store if your a licorice hater like me.

Hey Karen! Oooh, I hope you do a review of the lotion!
Thanks to Stef for the tip on the warming scrub. I need to get my butt to BBW to sniff all this new stuff!

I sniffed the honey and date yoghurt cream today.
Best thing I’ve smelled in a while. But it’s $17.50, and I have tuition to pay. :[

I haven’t had an Orange Dream Machine since I moved from the Valley. Oh man, maybe I will find a Jamba Juice in SF and have that for dinner tomorrow. So tempting!
