Nope, I don’t get brain freeze. Never had it. Not once!
And, at the rate I’m going, with all the hours of brain-liquifying Bravo television I watch, I probably never will (because there won’t be anything left up there to freeze!).
Haha.
This actually works out in my benefit today because these Too Faced Sweet Sun Shines Glosses make me want to hightale it down to the closest smoothie shop to slurp everything on the menu.
They even have yummy names that sound like smoothies — Papaya Slushie (a shimmery orange), Watermelon Ice (a frosty hot pink) and Mocha Freeze (a shimmery, nude bronze) — and, thankfully, should not cause brain freeze (seeing as they’re glosses).
You may want to watch out for unconsciously drooling, though, when you see them because they do look pretty delectable.
I absolutely love, LOVE how smooth, slick and comfy these feel on my lips. The lightweight, non-sticky gel formula is also hella moisturizing.
Sometimes I don’t want to work around my gloss, ya know? And these are great for days like that, when all I want to do is swipe a doe-foot across my lips, pet my cat and get back to my Bravo. 🙂
If you like the MAC Cremesheens or Clarins Instant Lights, you’d probably also like these Sweet Sun Shines.
I think they feel very similar, if not a tad thicker, and pack more pigment.
As they really aren’t that sticky, they don’t last forever on the lips. I get about two hours on mine, but it kind of comes with the territory, ya know? I don’t mind reapplying them because of how blasted good they feel.
Coconut lovers, you’re also gonna like this: the flavor and scent! Like coconut flakes, and not overpowering.
It’s more like a body splash than an eau de coconut parfum, and it pretty much fades away within about 5 minutes.
Notes on the individual shades…
- Mocha Freeze shimmers in the tube but looks more like a barely-there nude on my lips (Love it. I’ll wear it a lot.)
- Watermelon Ice starts as an intense, frosty fuchsia but turns into a shimmery hot pink after I’ve pressed my lips tougher a few times
- Papaya Slushie, a fun, bright orange, has the biggest flecks of glitter in the bunch
I see one potentially sticky issue that might make some product junkies grind their teeth.
The cap.
It’s black with a sticker around it. The starburst pattern does a little something cool for the overall design, but the stickers could be stickier and sturdier.
These tubes have been sloshing around in my purse for a couple of weeks, and the caps already look beat. The stickers are starting to fray and peel, and the design’s already been scratched off in some places.
Other than the sticker deal, I think these are great, especially if you like smooth glosses, and your lips like moisture.

These cats walk on water…
I love this video of a fashion show that took place on the Seine river in Paris last May. It has some amazing shots of different landmarks and the city.
Oh, and the clothes, of course. I think the music’s pretty cool, too.
Warning: it is 6 minutes long, but if you have a moment (or if you’re being held hostage by your dog/cat), check it out.
Ah, Calgon…take me to Paris!

Watermelon Ice looks so pretty on you! On a related (ahem!) note, I am craving some coconut floes…*sigh*.
Karen says
Hey Musical!
I haven’t had a coconut floe in a few months. Thanks for the reminder! I’m going to stop by TJ’s to buy a box.
Happy Friday, btw. Got any fun weekend plans?

They look gorgeous, I want all 3 of them 🙂

Hey lady!
Hope your early wake up wasn’t too rough this morning. *Raises coffee cup*

It was tough but work wasn’t bad and it went by pretty fast. But I think I need another coffee 🙂

I think Papaya Slushie looks awesomely summery on you! Those poor tubes would look new for about 6 seconds in my bag (I have all my essentials like glosses, lip balms, dental floss, hand cream and cuticle oil/nail files in a ziploc in my purse). The file scratches the heck out of all the packaging. The upside is that I can quickly find whatever I need. 🙂
Karen says
I kind of love that cuticle oil and a nail file is in your essentials bag. And floss too!
Do you use a crystal nail file? I’ve had one for YEARS and it’s the business!
Happy Friday!!
Kim says
I do have one – we get ours (actual etched glass) from the Czech Republic. They are seriously the best glass file manufacturers!
The files in my bag are just a double sided (280/320 grit) cushioned file and a 3-way buffer. That’s one perk of my job, I have tons of grooming tools all over. 🙂
Happy Friday! It’s a beautiful day and I’m barely able to stop myself from bolting to the door and heading home!

I’ve been aching to see these! I only have a sample size gloss from Too Faced but the formula is fab. And despite being a lipstick person, I am all about the gloss lately.

What gorgeous colors! The mocha is calling my name… 🙂

These are my new favorites! They are just as good as my Guerlain & Givenchy glosses. I adore these <3
