The New Too Faced Soul Mates Blushing Bronzers Are Powder Power Couples

Carrie & Big? You gotta be kitten me! I think Carrie & Aiden would’ve been a far better name for this new $34 Too Faced Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer (it’s one of two), but that’s because I’ll never, ever, EVER get over how Big stood up Carrie at the wedding. I’m all for forgiveness, but if some dude left my BFF hanging in her big white dress, I would kick that man’s booty from here to next Tuesday.

Team Aiden 4 life! ๐Ÿ™‚

Now where was I…?

Oh! — these new cuties. So adorbs. I almost can’t take it.

Too Faced Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer

They’re called the Soul Mates, and they’re new for spring (yes, spring, even though it isn’t even officially winter).

There are two of them, both limited edition and $34 each, one a peach blush and golden bronzer duo called Carrie & Big, and the other a pink blush and orangey golden bronzer duo called Ross & Rachel, coming soon to Too Faced counters and toofaced.com.

You know the drill. The bronzers and blushes in these duos are like two-piece Juicy velour tracksuits circa 1999. Fine when worn apart, but wearing each pair together takes the proverbial “bling on the bum” to the next level.

The blush and bronzer powders are silky and easy to blend. For some warmth, I lightly sweep one of the bronzers on my cheeks and around the edge of my face with a fluffy face brush. Then I take a smaller blush brush and buff one of the blushes on the apples of my cheeks for color.

Takes all but a minute.

Theoretically, one could use these Soul Mates to cut a contour, but I like them better for adding warmth all over the face and color to the apples of my cheeks.

That’s because the bronzers heavily lean gold and orange. The finish also has a sheen to it, which makes them better, I think, for sun-kissed looks than for deep, chiseled cuts.

I gotta say, though, if there’s one thing Too Faced does well, it’s bronzers, and these, with their cute heart shapes, are bringin’ it.

They’re also bringin’ the value. For $34, you get 0.6 ounces of product, which is almost twice as much as you get with a regular 0.35-ounce Too Faced bronzer for $30.

What to wear with these? I like Carrie & Big with coral lips, and Ross & Rachel with yellow-based pinks.

Too Faced Soul Mates Blushing Bronzer

Since these Soul Mates are warm-toned, I’d say they’re probably a better fit for girls and guys who wear warm bronzers well, and they might run a little too orange for the super cool-toned cuties among us.

I hope Too Faced releases them in more shades for cool-toned babes soon (I’ll keep my E.T.-like fingers and monkey toes crossed).

Yes, I can see the names of those now… Gwen & Gavin, Angie & Brad, and Karen & Tabs. ๐Ÿ™‚

HAHA! Yes, my cat is my soul mate.

PRICE: $34 each
AVAILABILITY: Limited edition, and coming soon to Too Faced counters and online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+/A- (I do wish they were a little better for contouring)

Moody miles

For the most part, the four-hour drive to Redding up to where my in-laws live is astonishingly boring.

Just miles and miles of straight road along I-5 in the California central valley, with the highlights of the drive being unusually shaped trees and miscellaneous farm animals.

But when it’s storming and pouring like it was this past Friday, things are much more interesting, and there isn’t anything to obstruct your view through the car’s windows.

The sky seems larger than life.

Most of these are from right before and after sunset.

Mother Nature is a bad-@ss painter!

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

Lovely look, Karen! The blushing bronzer looks amazing…awesome shade! What’s that on your lips? Goes really well with the bronzer…I have still not found a great coral for myself ๐Ÿ™ I’m an NC35, please suggest your favorites

BTW totally agree about Big…I too am on Team Aidan! This bronzer would have scored extra brownie points with me had it been Carrie & Aidan ๐Ÿ˜€

    1. I completely agree about Big. I could tell he’d be a sleeze from the beginning. Get him outta there! Geez, why did her friends not beat him to a pulp and leave him to rot in the desert somewhere? (Is that taking it too far?)
    2. I love Too Faced bronzers, but for some reason this doesn’t appeal to me. I like having my bronzer separate from my blush- not all in one compact. That being said, it looks great with your skin tone!

Too Faced just wants to take ALL of my money!! First they made me fall in love with the Better Than Sex mascara, then the Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar palette comes out and now these?!? Ugh. LOL

Love TF bronzers (like Milk Chocolate Soleil) but I still have my Bonjour Soleil palette sitting in a drawer.

These lean to warm and shimmery for me. But they are soooo cute!

    Team Big all the way.
Aiden was trying to change her all the time: Quit smoking, put away the heels and come out to the country,…
Yes, Big was self-centered and did horrible things, but in the end, it worked out great. Not to forget, she wasn’t an angel herself.
And Aiden was just too good and healthy and forgiving and … I never got into him.
Give me complicated love stories and dark souls! At least on tv.

And that duo, Iยดd happily take that, too. No matter what the name is.

The Soul Mates are super cute and I love that they are named after modern day relationship icons. However. I find myself gravitating away from the cutesy gimmicky products because the novelty effect wears off in the first couple of weeks. I’d rather get my hands on the Semi Sweet palette – which is about as cutesy as I get with packaging and names ๐Ÿ™‚

I love the photos from your drive! We drive a good length of I-95 in Florida on a regular basis. I’ve also done I-10 across the state. I’m not sure what is worse…the interstate in Florida or I-57 through the length of Illinois!

I think you look amazing in this pic so using the bronzer for a sun-kissed effect was a good decision. ๐Ÿ™‚ I think the names are cute and like your Gwen & Gavin suggestion! Are the powders actually *scalloped* in the pan or is it overspray? Very cute.

Great pics on your drive and I laughed at your random farm animals comment. I love car trips, regardless of the scenery. The Hubs is the exact opposite.

Are you kitten me???? Two gorgeous bronzers named after possibly my least favorite couples ever. I always thought Big was kind of a major ***hole, and I absolutely detest Ross. Perhaps my age is showing, but why not Blair and Chuck? Buttercup and Westley? Holly and Paul Baby! I just can’t stand the couples they chose! haha

Seriously? The names on these make me angry. This could be the most gorgeous product ever, but I don’t think I could stomach a purchase. You are going to make an adorable product named soul mates and you pick the most vapid and ridiculous couples in history. I can almost forgive the Ross and Rachel thing, because Friends was ridiculously popular and is still a cultural phenomenon 20 years later… but Sex and the City? Big was an A$$hole and frankly the whole show rubbed me the wrong way. Does anybody even care about that show anymore? It has been 5 years since the last movie came out, and I really don’t think anyone misses it… There are so many beautiful soul mate couples throughout history, how about a Romeo and Juliette, or a Tristan and Isolde? Something, anything better than Carrie and Big.

Can we talk about how cute the names of these blushes are?! I just can’t. Just because of the names I would get both of them lol. I love how you didn’t use it to contour but to give your face a bit of warmth and that gorgeous color really brings out the apples of your cheeks which I looove. You look stunning, as always, dear Karen <3

I think the packaging is adorable and the color in the pic looks fantastic on you. I would even think about a purchase if it was named Karen and Tabs. I wouldn’t purchase it for the names alone. it’s just…why? The couples they chose are neither iconic or soul mates. (in my opinion)

My best friend purchased this for me last week and I am in love. First of all I love the names and the packaging – I got big and carrie though because I love them most(team big because at the end of the day he loved carrie just as she was).
Ive never been into blush and bronzer combination and I am very pale – i usually go for the lightest shades in foundations. I tried this product and its perfect, blends so easily and is buildable so it wont make you over the top tanned. Honestly i loved it and havnt been so happy with a product like this in a while. Give it a chance!
