Yabba-dabba-doo and zip-a-dee-doo-dah! I’m wearing Plum Crazy from the new Too Faced La Creme Lip Gloss line, and it is the bomb!
LOL!
Sorry, the bomb? Lame ’90s reference. What can I say? It’s Friday afternoon, and all I want to do is sneak out of the office early and go watch a movie (I still haven’t seen Edge of Tomorrow).
Yeah, right. As if Tabs would ever allow me to peace out early (dare to dream). If he did, I’d definitely take one of the brand Too Faced La Creme Lip Balms with me. With their shiny finish and sheer tints, they’re super chill, and the ultra moisturizing formula feels goooood on my lips.
There are currently six shades in the new line, and they more or less look the same on my perpetually parched and pigmented pout, but that’s OK. It means I only need one.
Or two.
OK, three. You know it is. #lipbalmhoarders 🙂
They feel rich and buttery on my lips and have a light citrus flavor and scent.
“This ultra-nourishing formula is saturated with antioxidant-rich White Lotus Flower Extract, Black Currant Seed Oil and Hyaluronic Filling Spheres, leaving your lips plump and irresistibly kissable.”
— Too Faced Cosmetics
I’d compare them to the $18 Tinted Lip Balms Benefit recently launched, but I wouldn’t exactly call them dupes. The La Creme Lip Balms cost a little more at $22, but you also get more pigment and moisture for that.
The La Cremes also feel slightly thicker to me and last longer on my lips. I’ve been applying Like Buttah, the clear shade, before bed, and I can still feel it there the next morning.
I like the Benefit ones, too, but I prefer the La Cremes. I just think they’re more moisturizing and last longer.
Better than your average balms, for sure, and highly recommended, especially if your lips are dry like mine.
Check out Just Kissed or Plum Craze, if you’re interested. They’re the most tinted of the group.
You can find the new La Creme Lip Balm line now with the rest of the Smitten Kitten fall collection online at toofaced.com (coming soon to Too Faced counters).
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Speaking of smitten kittens…I drove by the Humane Society last night, and they had a big ol’ sign in front that said, “WE HAVE KITTENS.”
It took everything I had to resist my natural cat lady tendencies. I seriously wanted to bring home all of the kittehs. I love them all.
When I see little baby cats, it makes me wish I knew Tabs when he was small. He started coming around toward the end of his kitten-hood, around a year old, so he was more or less a big boy cat by then.
I bet he was the cutest kitten ever. 🙂
Cat ladies, were you lucky enough to know your feline friend when he or she was a kitten?

We have 5 cats, all are foster fails, so we had them as tiny little babies. One of them was the runt of his litter, when we brought him home for fostering he weighed 8 ounces. Kittens are a lot of work, but so much fun.

The pigment seems a miss here too like the Benefit ones! #lipbalmhoarders Amen!

We have 5 cats, all of them are “foster fails”, so we have had them since they were teeny tiny. One was the runt of his litter, when we brought him home to foster he weighed 8 ounces.
I worked at the animal shelter for awhile and we volunteered/fostered so I’ve seen a lot of kittens. They are all so adorable, but soooo much work.
We lost two cats last year, a month apart. (Yes, we had seven cats at one time…we kind of lost our minds, it’s all my husbands fault) anyway, one of them was about 9 months old when we adopted him so we didn’t have baby pictures. He did grow a little more, but I wish we could have seen him little. We got him from Marin Humane, he was a transfer from Mendocino County.
Tabs is a very handsome boy.

These look lovely!
We (or should I say, Zack, because he adopted Jiji while I was in Cannes, LOL!) adopted Jiji as a little one, maybe 10 or 12 weeks old, so that he’d be a little scared of Quincy, haha. He was a cute little kitten. We also had a kitty named Gomez (RIP) who we adopted from the same group as a kitten, for the same reason. He went to live with my parents, but had a heart attack at a couple years old. Gomez was a tuxedo kitty, so he and Quincy matched really well.

Plum Craze is certainly my favorite

I have a hard time spending a lot of money on lip balm, but I might try one of these – I love the La Creme lipsticks!
Carolyn says
Can’t wait to try one of these! I absolutely love hydrating tinted lip balms!
fancie says
They’re rather sheer but I didn’t expect too much from a balm. The formula sounds pretty nice though! I want one lol
Alison M says
The lack of color definitely makes me go “meh” but as someone who adores the La Creme Lipsticks, I have my eye on Like Buttah. After all, I do suffer from perpetually dry lips.
Miriam says
You are looking so fresh! Loving your hair in these pictures. xx
Sylirael says
I desperately want these to either have more pigment or cost less, LOL. Mind you , it’s a bit moot since we don’t have Too Faced here anyway 😛
Plum Craze does look nice, though!
High fives from a fellow lip balm hoarder!

definitely “meh”! I think that 22$ for a super sheer lip balm it’ too much even if it is super moisturizing! for the same price I’d rather buy one of the creme lipsticks which I really love!

Plum Craze looks good!

These balms look great! Although I do love my Fresh Sugars, and they’re about the same price… le sigh! I knew my cat Skittery as a kitten. My best friend’s cat had kittens and he was the most rowdy, tempestuous, and aggressive of them all- and I couldn’t resist the little white tufts of fur on his black coat! He used to have sweet little blue eyes, which have turned green with age (and increasingly evil tendencies). He’s a hell-raiser but I love him.
