I’m Going Gaga Over Too Faced Born This Way Foundation

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation ($39)

Would Lady Gaga wear Too Faced Born This Way Foundation, and if she would, would she belt out the chorus to Born This Way while she applied it?

I’d like to think she would because I TOTALLY DO THAT, and then Gaga and I could do a duet together, and Tabs could be our backup dancer, and the whole thing would be awesome to the Nth degree…

You know you can see it happening. πŸ™‚

There’s lot of good things to sing/say about this latest liquid foundation from Too Faced, which I’ve been wearing off and on now for about a week. Its medium-to-full coverage demi-matte finish delightfully diffuses pores while disguising imperfections, and the lightweight formula looks almost undetectable on the skin.

It’s maybe not quite as inconspicuous and skin-like as Dior Nudeskin Air Serum, but it’s pretty darned great considering the opacity of the coverage. It’s not uncommon for medium-to-full coverage liquid foundations to look pretty obvious, but this one doesn’t, depending on how I apply it.

And I’ve tried a bunch of different methods. It seems to work best for me and look the most seamless when I use very little (literally, like a small drop or two at a time), pat it on with my fingers and build it up slowly in layers.

Applied any other way — with brushes, a BeautyBlender, etc. — it looks heavier, thicker and more obvious.

So that’s one thing. I wouldn’t call it a catch, but still…

If it’s hella hot right now where you live and you’re concerned about your foundation sliding off your face halfway through the day, FYI, this foundation lasts like a mofo. I wore Honey (the shade I wear) over a couple of extremely hot days here, and it stayed put eight to nine hours. It also didn’t emphasize any dry spots, kept my oily areas under complete control and didn’t oxidize as the days wore on.

There are currently 12 shades available, and most of them are right around pale to medium, so yeah, there’s not a lot of action among the deeper tones, but there should be this fall, because Too Faced plans to add four darker shades then (along with two more of the lighter ones).

This foundation makes me want to break into song! I love the way it feels and looks, how it covers everything (even makes my pores look smaller) and lasts a long while. The biggest drawbacks? — that it depends on how I apply it and, for now, doesn’t include many shades for darker damsels (but that will hopefully change this fall).

If you’re looking for a new medium-to-full coverage liquid foundation, I think it’s well worth a try.

Your skin, both with and without the foundation, are gorgeous! Looks like Honey is a great match for you too.

I’m trying out my Glossier tint tomorrow, I’m very anxious to see how it works out. Fingers crossed!

I don’t really know what to think of this foundation: everyone seems to really like it, but from my sample I can’t say I do. My biggest concern is that it doesn’t give me much coverage at all. Do you have to layer to reach medium coverage? Cause with just one regular layer my imperfections are not covered well.

I need to see if I can get away with one of these shades. I’m glad you got to search them all because it made it easy to narrow down to two shades to check out in store!

Everyone seems to love this. I’m fair with neutral undertones, so I could go either Porcelain or Ivory. I’ll have to swatch in person next time I’m out shopping.

I was actually pretty hesitant to pick this foundation up as I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews. I’ve been using it the past couple of days with my MUFE mattifying primer and I’m actually really enjoying it.

I don’t know how but your skin looks so flawless without makeup, so I’d love to hear about your skincare routine now.

About foundations I’ve found out I have to mix yellow concealer with them to make them more natural to my skin tone I have three in rotation and I don’t think I should buy more.

This foundation looks great on you. I will have to get my hands on a sample, not sure which color would match me the best though.

I love Too Faced products and this seems promising! It’s crazy hot out here in Ohio as well, so anything that lasts in this heat sounds great. Too bad about the lack of colors, but I’ll keep a lookout in the fall!

I love your “face full of makeup” caption. πŸ™‚ The foundation sounds good but I’m more of a fan of tinted moisturizers/BBs that you can apply quickly with your fingers. No surprise!

I’m wearing this today. I got a sample at Sephora last night as I am looking for a foundation to match to my self tan. I like it so far. I wish foundations would come in half sizes that we don’t have to buy a huge bottle for one season of color.

I can see why you like this foundation. It looks very natural on you! You have perfect skin though so I’m sure anything would look good on you. I may check this out once they release the darker shades but I’m a little disappointed they didn’t release them to begin with

I have been trying this foundation out for the last 2 days now and I am loving it! (it looks gorgeous on you, BTW). I have always hopped around and tried different foundations and gone right back to UD Naked Skin, but this might have just taken the lead in the race! I wish there was a shade just a smidge darker than the nude shade but still with pinky undertones. Other than needing a few more shades, this foundation is great.

Hi , I have read several articles of yours..as I exactly the same shade in all the foundations I have seen you review.
What I wanted to ask is how does this foundation compare with MUF, Naked and Laura Mercier flawless fluid. The pros and cons in regarda to how natural, long lasting and differences would be excellent to help aa fellow make up junkie. Thank you for your time. Anna
