Because…DINOSAURS.
I have this theory that if you want something to be more awesome, stick a dinosaur on it. Or in it. Whether it’s a movie, a lunchbox or, in this case, a mascara…although the dinosaurs don’t have much to do with the lash lengthening, curling and separating properties of $25 Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Escalator Mascara.
They do, however, enhance the experience… Because they’re cute. 🙂
Relatively new around here, Too Cool for School is a Korean beauty brand available now at Sephora, where Dinoplatz Escalator gets brontosaurus-caliber good reviews.
I’m pretty sure it’s a tubing mascara…even though Sephora doesn’t refer to it as such, because it’s one of those you have to remove with warm water, and then it kind of slips off.
It also has an adjustable wand; you twist the dial thingamabob on the cap to lengthen or shorten the brush to create different lash effects, like, extending the brush fully, which is how I usually use it, concentrates on lash curl and length, but shortening the brush concentrates on adding volume.
I mean, the brush is a nifty extra…but this stuff is all about the formula, which, IMO, is better than any every other mascara formula out there at the moment.
Now, I have a hard time getting excited about mascaras these days because ever since I got pregnant with Baby Girl, my lashes have been on strike. Nothing — and I mean NOTHING — holds a curl, and every mascara I try has something I don’t like about it…
Except this.
Dinoplatz Escalator makes me excited to wear mascara again because it does absolutely EVERYTHING well. It curls, lengthens, thickens and defines, and the dark black formula doesn’t flake or smudge.
Wearing mascara doesn’t seem like a chore anymore, and I haven’t even touched my tube of Chanel le Volume (which I used to/normally love!) in months.
If you’re looking for a no-nonsense, dramatic mascara that does everything, don’t miss Dinoplatz Escalator.
AND, HELLO! — THERE ARE DINOSAURS ON IT!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Ooo! This sounds promising!
I tried to make dinosaur Christmas cookies but the little dinosaur legs kept falling off.

Oh my gosh, this is too cute. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the Too Cool For School brand, but the Canadian Sephoras don’t really stock it – the only thing we’ve got here is their Egg Mousse face mask and the cleanser from the same line. I highly suggest you try the mask if you haven’t already; it does wonders for dull/very tired skin. Plus, it’s like putting meringue on your face, which is super cool and weird at the same time.

Argh the Too Cool for School nearest me closed, but I’m definitely going to hunt this down once I finish the mascaras I’ve got lined up.
Sounds very promising!

The dinosaur cartoon is so random but adorable! I’m also glad that the formula worked out for you. Obviously that is what’s most important. (…Is it bad that I would be tempted to purchase this based on the packaging alone, though? lol)

The packaging usually wouldn’t appeal to me, even though there are dinosaurs on it, but your description of the mascara does.

Very cute indeed! And wow, how cool is that, an adjustable wand 😀

I have this mascara and I LOVE IT! (I actually wore it to the Jurassic World movie to be funny…dinosaurs and more dinosaurs!) Karen you seriously need to try their Dinoplatz lip balm. I have #2 Beet Jam and I love it. It looks like a coral red in the package but give a pinkish flush to my lips. Also, and something I randomly found out by accident, it’s good as a base to cool down a lipstick that might be too warm for you but you want to keep anyway (Kat Von D Cathedral…I’m looking at you).
Lauren says
Wow, I have never heard of this, but I’m sold on the cuteness, changeable wand, and your review!
Cathy says
I tried their lip crayons.. I had to return one because the color was too bright for me but kept the other color.. So far I am impressed with this brand..I can’t wait to see what they come out with next..
