The new Sonia Kashuk Roll Up Valet bag might be better at keeping makeup and brushes separated and organized…but sometimes you don’t care about organization and just want to bring along a sh*tload of stuff!
Well at least I do. 🙂
I have a confession — packing light does not come naturally to me (unlike my knack for tracking down new Kevin Federline-esque fedoras).
It’s actually really hard. Whenever I fly somewhere, I pare down because I have to, but dangnabbit! — those carry-on luggage restrictions sure cramp my style.
Now, when traveling by car, since I can bring however much I want and don’t have to haul my cookies around an airport, I tend to go a little cray-cray in the makeup packing department.
Let me put it this way: I’m the girl with five different face powders and six bronzers at any given time, and oh — what’s that? You want to borrow a glittery nail polish? Can do. I’m sure I have at least two or three of them with me…
It’s time like those, when I can bring however much I want and indulge in my makeup hoarding tendencies, that Sonia Kashuk’s Floral Print Triple Train Case ($19.99) is mah jam.
New for fall, the three-tiered zippered travel case has become my go-to bag whenever I want to bring along hella blushes, powders and/or eyeshadows.
Bulkier products like face powders fit nicely into the bottom tier, which is the deepest level of the bag, and when I stand them up in two rows, the bag fits about 20…
The middle tier isn’t as deep as the bottom one, but it’s still very roomy. That’s where I like to store my eyeshadows, all lined up in rows.
The other day I tested it with Urban Decay eyeshadow singles, and it held about 40 pans.
FORTY PANS!!
About the Sonia Kashuk Floral Print Triple Train Case
- Shell material: polyester
- Liner material: polyester
- Interior features: multiple compartments, lined
- Closure style: zip closure
- Care and cleaning: wipe clean with a damp cloth
The top tier has a pouch and zippered pocket designed to hold brushes, but I use it for pencils instead.
You can fit a ton of them in there, too…
Oh, for sure, you could use the Train Case as a straight-up traditional makeup bag, but I think its true power is in transporting copious amounts of STUFF.
It might be something to consider if you or someone you love, perhaps a budding makeup artist, likes/needs to bring a zillion products with them to different locations, and they’re looking for a cute, lightweight, reasonably priced bag that’s also easy to clean.
PRICE: $19.99

Karen, thanks for.confirming that I can depend on you to give me an accurate representation of a makeup bag’s capacity. You did it for the UD Quincinera bag and you did it here. You forgot one thing: how many cans of cat food.does this bag hold?

I actually wanted to do that but we had no gravy in the house, LOL! Please don’t tell Tabs. I just got back from an emergency Petco run…

Does the bag have structure or do all the blushes and eyeshadow pans become undone from the rows when the bag is closed and held by the handles? Hope that made sense
Karen says
Hi Grace,
It’s collapsable, so it does go flat when empty. I stuff mine to the max; when I do that everything stays neatly in rows.

Shut up and take my money, because you just sold me on this product! I just booked my honeymoon tickets this week and traveling overseas for 2 weeks and I’m freaking out as far as makeup storage.
Your visual display confirmed it’s worth the price tag! Now, which makeup favorites in particular to bring abroad is a whole different mess…

40 eyeshadows and 20 face powders? I am officially sold on this makeup bag.

I’ve seen bags like this in many places and I always end up not organizing it the way you did with your blushes and eye shadow.. 🙂

Oh man, that photo of you with the fedoras didn’t just made me LOL – it made me COL (i.e. cackle out loud). Too funny! This post would have been worth it for that alone, but oh me oh my that train case looks amazing; loving the pattern and spacious proportions.
