Oh, yeah, it’s about to get sudsy in here!!
Wait — what do you mean you don’t have any quarters?
None?? Not even one quarter…?
Who shows up to a laundromat without any quarters?
LOL! I’m just kidding. 🙂 That’s alright. I brought enough quarters for both of us. Have a seat here next to me, and we’ll contemplate the four lipsticks from the new MAC Wash and Dry collection while we wait for our laundry to finish.
Steam Heat: This vivid yellowish red hangs tough from the moment you put it on until the end of the final rinse cycle. And shoot, it doesn’t stop there. In other words, it lasts a really long time — like six, or maybe even seven hours, but that’s only if you can manage to resist that bag of Trader Joe’s cheese puffs in the closet, which is to say that it doesn’t last through meals.
I swear…whenever I open one of those bags of cheese puffs, it is physically impossible to NOT eat at least half the bag in one sitting.
But I digress…
Tumble Dry: Almost better than that moment when you realize that your last load of laundry is done, hurray! This warm-toned light peachy coral nude with soft shimmer is very easy to wear and moisturizing. Sheer enough to allow my natural lip color to peek through, it still packs enough pigment to make an impression.
It’s a perfect summery shade.
Morange: Sturdier than a collar with extra starch (translation: lasts a hella long time; we’re talking seven hours), this vivid warm orange looks extra crisp on medium and deep skin tones.
The finish falls somewhere between matte and satin, so in laundry terms, I’d compare it to pricey, plush dry clean-only silk.
It’s a re-promote from the permanent collection, by the by, so if you absolutely, positively must have it before your next load of delicates is done, it’s available at MAC counters now (in MAC basic black packaging).
Creme d’Nude: This one is also a re-promote available now in the permanent collection, and like that guy who ran next to me at the Bay to Breakers a few years back, it’s really, REALLY nude. If you like the look of blanked-out pale pink lips, this could be your next jam.
It’s a light pinkish beige with shimmer. Building it up in layers gets it close to full opacity, or sheer it out by dabbing it lightly on your lips.
The limited edition Wash and Dry collection lipsticks, part of the new MAC Wash and Dry collection, arrive May 14 to the MAC website, and May 21 to MAC counters and stores.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Such a pity, I am not really feeling this collection. Nothing really stands out to me. I honestly wanted to love it but… *sigh*
I have gazillion reds, I have Fashion Nomad which is a dupe of Morange (which is permanent so no point) and I don’t like these light nudes. Conclusion: nothing for me!
Karen says
Well, at least you have more room in your makeup bag for the next collection, right?
Have a great weekend!

Hmmmm. Steam Heat is the only one of these I like but it’s not that unique. The advertising for this collection is what I like the most about it I think.

That shade is fun!

I think with you even a trip to a laundromat would be fun!
I already mentioned that I really really want Morange but I need to see it in person first. I think it might not work for me at all!
Steam Heat looks beautiful on you.
Karen says
Try it and try to keep an open mind when you do. Sometimes it takes a while to get used to seeing yourself in new colors (I do this all the time).

Morange looks so fierce, I love it 🙂
Karen says
Me too! Bold lips = fun!
Have a great weekend. 🙂

Tumble Dry looks really good on you! Almost makes me want it. I have my heart set on Morange though. It just screams summer and it’s about time I add it to my collection
Karen says
Yes! It would look great on you. You can find it from the permanent line…Although I do love this limited edition packaging.

I was tempted to get Morange, just so I could get something with that special packaging, but I had it applied in store yesterday and it just didn’t work with my skintone.
So I had to get a red lipgloss (again).

Steam Heat is gorgeous on you!!

HI, Karen!!
You look absolutely gorgeous!! Did you get a tan? Lol. I don’t know about this collection, MAC is continuously coming out with the same shades over and over and again, and there sheer..smh. I would have to see this collection in person. Thans for the review!

Ahh, you and Morange were meant to be, Karen! Dayum! <3
