LORAC PRO Powder Cheek Stain in Rosy Glow
I call ’em “The One Swipers,” the five new, awesomely pigmented LORAC PRO Powder Cheek Stains I mentioned yesterday but didn’t really describe, because they rarely have to be swiped twice. One swipe with one of these on my blush brush delivers natural-looking, flushed cheeks.
The $20 powder blushes, which just landed on LORAC counters, are also surprisingly easy to blend, considering how much pigment they pack, and last a whopping eight hours on me.
The only thing I’d add? Dilute, dilute, dilute — since these blushes lay down so much color. Wipe or tap your brush to remove the excess powder before applying.
With these, if you feel like your cheeks still look a little too bright even after diluting, try applying them with a fan brush instead. Fan brushes aren’t afraid of high pigment products and excel at laying down sheer layers of color.

“Hell on Wheels” — the TV show and Tabs
You ever watch AMC’s Hell on Wheels? It’s one of my new favorite shows (I can’t believe it stars Common!)…and a phrase that very accurately describes Tabs when he’s zipping around the house.
Aww, Tabs. We’ve been doing a lot of play therapy lately (something I learned from watching My Cat From Hell on Animal Planet), 15 minutes in the morning, again in the afternoon and then once more at night before his gravy, and I’m noticing a big improvement in his mood. He’s been much more affectionate throughout the day.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Oooh I’m digging Coral Crush!!
Aww! Isn’t it crazy how cats are so much like humans? We may not be able to communicate through talking, but there are so many other ways to communicate with them! I’m curious as to what play therapy is?? 😀
Karen says
Hi Nikki,
It’s basically play time, but after you finish you reward your kitty with treats so he/she feels like they’ve been hunting (or something like that, LOL!). Tabs has a strong prey drive so it seems to help get his aggression out.
Soo Jin says
I’m loving coral crush and petal pink! And wow, an A+?? I better go try this one out! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Soo Jin,
Yeah, they’re really great. I also like the packaging — very sturdy!

Karen,
I always have trouble finding blush that doesn’t make me look too pink. I have very fair skin with pink undertones and I tend to lean towards cooler colors. I recently tried NARS orgasm, but I wasn’t convinced. I’m digging the plum passion blush in your swatches. Do you think it could work on us fair gals? Thank you 🙂 xox
Karen says
Hi Kayla,
You could work it, for sure! I’d suggest using a fan brush, though, to apply it. That way you’ll have a lot of control over the color.
Kayla says
As always, thank you!
Karen says
You’re welcome! Happy Friday. 🙂
Lulle says
Wow, these babies look very pigmented! I don’t see a shade that really calls my name though.
I watched My Cat from Hell once, as we were staying in a hotel, and really got hooked! I loved this show, and I learnt a lot about cat behavior. My kitty is quite moody too, although he has become a lot more mellow since hubby came into our lives!
Karen says
Hi Lulle,
It’s a very good show. I like the little bits of kitty trivia they have before the commercials!
Eliza says
I love the show Hell on Wheels! I started watching it last year and was surprised at how good it was.
Karen says
Hi Eliza,
Me too! Do you watch the season premiere last week?
Chelsea says
This is gorgeous! I’m pale (as you know!) but I looove pigmented blushes. I love Petal Pink, I might have to go to the store and play with these…
Karen says
Hi Chelsea,
Petal Pink would look gorgeous on pale skin. I’m thinking maybe with a red lipstick and black cat eyeliner? 🙂
Becca @ The Beauty Sample says
Wow–you still managed to make these look SUPER subtle but still noticeable and pretty! I am not sure though…I struggle a lot with super pigmented blushes and much prefer a softer, sheerer formula. This might not be the right one for me…
Karen says
Hi Becca,
Try your super pigmented blushes with a fan brush. 🙂 It should make it easier for you.
Rachel says
Uh oh. This is a dangerous post to come across while I am going through a blush phase.
Karen says
Hi Rachel,
LOL, watch out! My blush phase is going on 10 years…
Nina says
I might buy a couple of these — im a huge fan of layering my blushes and always use a cream blush as my first layer. 🙂 Im currently using the UD and Revlon cream blushes but I can always use some new ones!
Karen says
Hi Nina,
These powders would be great on top of creams! I bet if you layered them they’d last a really long time. 🙂
Happy Friday!

These sound fantastic, Karen! I love the look of Plum Passion — you can never have too many plummy blushes, right? 😉
Mariana says
Hi Karen! One question: I can’t seem to find a good fan brush, could you recommend one?
Thanks!
Mariana

these look good on you, and i’m going to return Nars Outlaw that i just bought and exchange for one of these. That Nars blush went on so dry and scratchy. sounds like these would be a better choice. thanks as always for your reviews!
Penny says
Speaking of HELL ON WHEELS – I would love to know the
color lipstick Lillie wears on that show – love it!

These are beautiful, & totally glow on you. After seeing your post, i went ahead and purchased coral crush and petal pink and love them both on my olive skin. They are my go to blushes. Have to ask, What Eyeshadow do you have on with the blushes? On my monitor its like this gorgeous pastel lavender-liac wash off Color over the lid’s that perfectly sets off the blush. I’ve always been really shy of purple, even though I have brown eyes and they’re recommended for that color. I tend to do my makeup more classic pinup, but I love the understated pop of color on your lids!! You inspire me to pursue purple, lol. Let me know if you remembered what you used. DYing to know <3
