Even small deserts are hawt. 🙂 This one’s a light matte brown with a touch of golden glitter, and it goes by the name of Terre D’Or!
Aren’t those rolling sand dunes on top of the pan hawt? Terre D’Or is one of two (Terre Halee is the other one) new limited edition Soleil Tan de Chanel bronzers ($50 each), and if the sandy pattern looks familiar, that’s because the bronzers are already part of the company’s permanent line. The two new LE shades arrive in May as part of Chanel’s summer collection.
I spent quality time with Terre D’Or this week, which is the lighter of the two, and it just might be a little too light to use as a bronzer on my NC35 skin. It does leave behind a lovely whisper of golden glitter on my skin, but very little color comes through, and I’m beginning to think it functions better as a glittery highlighter for ladies with medium to dark skin. Lighter-skinned babes, on the other hand, get a very pretty, traditional bronzer, one for contouring and adding a warm, healthy sun-kissed glow.
I LOVE the texture of this bronzer. Terre D’Or’s finely milled powder feels velvet soft and almost creamy, so when applied it readily blends right in. If you’re turned off by the glitter in it, so was I at first. You can see the flakes, but they’re not as bad as rave makeup.
Sadly for wallets everywhere, Chanel’s makeup is always expensive, and that’s the case again here. The $50 price tag hurts, but if you like the shade, at least you get a big pan of it packaged in a way that feels expensive and classy.

I like Terre D’or, but I wouldn’t say I’m in love with it. I can see myself using it from time to time, but is it unique or special enough to justify $50? Hmm…
That said, it is Chanel 🙂 (meaning fabulous texture and beautiful packaging), but I think this baby caters to ladies with lighter skin tones than me. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B

I’m not much of a bronzer babe, but I really like looking at Terre D’or!
TGIF fo’ sho’! Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

I gotta hand it to Chanel — they suck me in every time with the visuals.
Whatcha got going on this weekend? Come hell or high water, I’m gonna watch Hot Tub Time Machine.

I’m trying to arrange a date night on Saturday so Hubby and I can go out for sushi and go see The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo!
P.S. Let us know how you like Hot Tub, I loves me some John Cusack!

That bronzer looks so pretty. It’ll probably be too light for my NC30 skin though. I can’t decide which bronzer to purchase for summer, Guerlain Terracotta or Chanel bronzer 🙂

Agree with Rae…beyond fab foto of our favorite feline! I was actually feeling some love for that bronzer until I read the part about the visible glitter. No can do the glitter stuff.

This is lovely, but I splurged on the soliel 4 lumieres last year and although I use it most days it doesn’t look like it’s been touched! I think they are certainly worth the expense since they last so long!

Good ol’ Tabs, looking pretty content there 😀 Lovin’ the look of this, maybe a bronzer I can pull off! Its never hard to Chanel to impress me 😀 Hope your having a great Friday 🙂

I love the sand design on that palette but definetly not worth it. I mean does anyone ever make it through bronzer? If i’m gonna splurge on chanel i like it to be something unique not something everyday that you could probably dupe for cheaper at the drugstore like a bronzer

Ouu. Maybe this would be a bronzer I could actually use with my pasty skin. I love how it looks like sand dunes, but $50? My oh my.
Leanne says
Are these good for oily skin? As in do they make you look a little more oily or do they go on matte besides the glitter?
Nina says
Awesome shot of Tabs! Love it!
The bronzer is pretty … but im not really a daily bronzer gal. Makes me wonder what other uses I can think up for it – because it is just so goshdarned cute!!!!
Marissa says
Oooh this is PRETTY! Of course, I’m a Palm Springs native so anything with sand dunes screams home for me. =p I don’t think I can justify throwing my money at it, though.
