Vampires aren’t known for their flexibility (their restricted diet, won’t work daytime hours, religious intolerance, etc.), but the new Tarte for True Blood LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint ($24) is. It’s one of the most flexible reds I’ve come across in a really long time.
The crayon/pencil tip makes this medium-coverage, iridescent red a cinch to apply. The color’s easily buildable, too, making it workable in a variety of occasions and looks from demure to dramatic.
I haven’t figured out why Tarte chose to give it a faint minty flavor and scent (um, how does mint relate to vampires?), but I like the way they’re executed; I think both of them are refreshing (again, vampires?) like gum.
Now that I think about it, I can’t think of a more appropriate, better taste and scent… Garlic is certainly out. 🙂
I the color and concept and love that it lasts for hours on my lips, but I do wish it were a little more hydrating.

oohhhh that is a gorgeous liptint — looks great on you! 🙂

This is good for that “I just drank fruit punch” look. Maybe vamps need the minty smell to cover up the blood breath? LOL.

Kool-Aid mouth!! (Buffy reference.)

Haha, your first sentence made me laugh! I love your sense of humour! 😀

Pretty! I think the mint had something to do with breath freshening. I don’t know if they still advertise it on their lip tints, but when I got mine (back when they were stains and not just tints) that’s what they said

Like the gloss, still in love with the Cheek Stain 🙂

I have been looking for a red lippie that won’t look clownish against my pale skin. Do you think this one would work Karen?

Looks nice, has a nice shine too. The swatch looks more sheerer than it looks on your lips. You, as always, look awesome 🙂

Oh my goodness, it’s much prettier than I expected. I love the LipSurgence formula and am glad this red is sheer. You just produced a lemming for me. I recently bought Le Metier de Beaute in Ken’s Coral and it has too scared to even try it!

I have this – it’s very pretty, but unlike the other colors I have in this product, it’s a bit drying. A little disappointing, but a pretty color, nonetheless.

That’s a gorgeous shade!

That’s really pretty! I might have to pick this one up!

This is a beauty! It looks really great on you. 🙂 Maybe, maybe on a dare I’d wear a red lipstick (and not spend all night covering my mouth with my hand) and if I did, I think this one would be the winner. 🙂 It’s a shame about the lack of hydration, though. That’s a must for me for a regular lip product.

That color looks so great on you! I think I might want to buy this >_<

The color looks beautiful on you. I’m so getting this… 🙂

I love this color but the lipsurgence tints only feel moisturizing for a few minutes and then my lips feel so dry. I think it’s kind of ironic that they are marketed as increasing moisture by 6000% but they’re practically the only gloss that makes my lips feel parched. But it is sooo pretty…

Super pretty! This colour looks great on you!

If they had come up with that red colour on the pair of lips that appears during the opening credits on True Blood, the one blowing out smoke in reverse, I would buy up every single one of it.

I am SO happy I found your blog!! First of all, I love True Blood (which is how I ended up finding you, searching for reviews on the tarte for True Blood collection) and second of all, I’ve been searching forever for a beauty guru with my tan coloring so I can see what products will actually look like on me. Thank you so much for doing this!!!
