Lucky number nine!
That’s how many shades Sonia Kashuk crafted of her new $9 ($8.99 to be exact) Ultra Luxe Lip Gloss. Partial to pale pinks? Check. Nudes? Got ya covered. Rich plums? Right here.
Right now I’m hooked on Prettiest Pink and Polished Plum, both of which, like the other colors in the line, are unscented and unflavored. Every time I swipe one of their brush applicators across my lips, I’m blown away by how evenly they apply, and I think the pigmented, non-sticky formula feels fantastic (and lasts from 2-4 hours). It’s juiced up with papaya extract, glycerin and antioxidants to make it hella hydrating, too.
“This next-generation lip gloss formula delivers beautiful, buildable color with instant softness and multi-dimensional shine. This lightweight, gel-like texture glides on comfortably to leave lips feeling kissable and moisturized — never sticky. Shades range from subtle nude to bold brights. Infused with Glycerin, Fatty Acids and emollients to hydrate lips and Papaya Fruit Extract, a natural skin softener, this multi-tasking gloss enhances skin’s elasticity and protects lips with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.”
The way they feel reminds me of the MAC Cremesheen Glasses (which I lurve!), but they cost less than half the price ($8.99 vs. $20).
Yup, my new/latest favorite drugstore gloss. 🙂
PRICE: $8.99 each (otherwise known as $9)
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Target stores and target.com
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A (I would have preferred a doe-foot to the brush, but c’est la vie, ya know?)

That Sonia’s got it going on. 🙂 I’m with you on the doe foot but the price is definitely right.

I really like Polished Plum. I haven’t worn lipgloss in years, but these look really nice!

Ooooh, Polished Plum is gorgeous. I like the packaging, too.

I adore the formula of her last glosses. Are these the same? I agree about the doe foot, but my biggest reason for not buying any new shades yet is that the old ones used to leak in my purse. Since the packaging has been redone and my lips are often dry, I will likely pick up a shade or two. Or three. They’re only $9 after all!

Hi Alison,
I think her previous glosses were called the Ultra Shines; these are a completely new line. I’ve taken both with me in my purse, and so far, I haven’t had any trubs with the packaging.

I picked up my tube this morning at 8:30am and it is amazing! I got Prettiest Pink and I would say it is an even better dupe for MAC Cremesheen Partial to Pink. It also lasted for hours! It is LOVE!

Hi Diana,
Yay! I’m so glad that you like it. I’m really stoked about this line of budget glosses and hope to snag a few more when I go to Target. Woot!

Can you please post what you are wearing on your skin? Your skin looks so fresh and glowy.

Karen-
Loved the Plum so much I made a special stop at my Target today and picked one up–the last one in that color. I also noticed they had a plum lip pencil so I thought I’d give that go, too. On the other end of the $$$ spectrum, have you ever tried anything from By Terry. I am intrigued by the line since seeing it in the WSJ, most espicially the lipstick. But no where to try or see colors here in the East Bay. How about you taking a run over to Space NK in Larspur and checking it out? I’m sure Tabs would love to check out this upscale place and you could pimp him for modeling gigs.
