Yet one more reason to go fan-girl over Sonia Kashuk: the unfathomably high levels of pigment in her new Lustrous Shine Lip Crayons.
I can’t believe these $8.99 retractable crayons aren’t more expensive. Smooth, silky and lightweight like a lip balm, they remind me a lot of pricier products from Too Faced and Benefit.
Don’t get me wrong — I still like both of those, but they’re so sheer that many of the colors look alike on my pigmented lips.
Not so with these from Sonia. From the two I’ve tried, mauve Peony and radiant purple Orchid, Sonia clearly cranked up the pigment, creating full-coverage colors that feel as comfy as a moisturizing balm.
Sonia’s $8.99 Lustrous Shine Lip Crayons are available now at Target stores in four shades — deep berry Dahlia, radiant purple Orchid, natural mauve Peony and pink Sweet Pea.
Great job, Sonia. 🙂
PRICE: $8.99 each
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Target stores (they’re also listed on target.com but are currently unavailable)
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A (just a great product at a great price)

Orchid looks AWESOME on you, Karen!! I have to admit, I love sheer jumbo lip pencils (hello, Clinique Chubby Sticks), but I’ve really been feeling the ones with more pigment recently, too. You can only have so many identical-looking balms, you know? 😛

Orchid looks so pretty.

At that price point it would be silly to leave them! Now if only we had Sonia Kashuk here…

I love both colors but the orchid looks extra beautiful on you! <3

These look so promising! I have my eye on Orchid, but I want to head to Target and see more colors. I much prefer pigmented crayons to sheer ones.

The formula sounds perfect and the swatches look really nice too. I want to try one soon! I think I’ll start with Orchid. I love how it looks on you!

peony seems to be the name of choice for a lot of lip products these days! what’s amusing is how different each color is and all are called peony! I love the peony here though!

Hi Marissa,
Aww, thanks sweets. I think these colors would look beautiful on a deeper skin tone. If you end up trying them send me a pic!
