Now that’s a lot of tacos. Sisley Cosmetics, a brand I don’t know a lot about, hopes to answer the question, “What does $108 look like?” Their new Lorchidee Highlighter Blush breaks the $100 barrier, but here’s the thing: I think it’s actually really, really good.
$108 is unbelievable for a blush, but for all that coin you do get a natural look that lasts all day and a glow like you just won the Mega Millions jackpot.
Luxurious from front to back — from the silver chariot/pan it rides in, to the powders so finely milled that the grains are almost microscopic — Lorchidee is a sight to behold. The coral, pink, brown and golden colors blend together seamlessly to give cheeks a softly radiant glow of golden peachy pink.
But even though I feel almost regal wearing this blush, I can’t see it working its way into my everyday makeup bag. It’s just too pricey for something like that.
Now, my special occasion makeup bag? Yeah, maybe there. 🙂
Additional makeup worn in the look on my eyes: Bare Escentuals bareMinerals Ready Eyeshadow 2.0 in The Phenomenon and Chanel Inimitable Intense Mascara in Purple; and lips: Becca Sheer Lip Colour in Valentina
Sisley also incorporated extract of white lily to moisturize the skin, although, truth be told, my dry cheeks don’t feel completely quenched when I wear it.
Gorgeous as it is, the price will still be a major hurdle for this lovely blush. But hey, if you’re a makeup lover with a weakness for high-end brands, and you’re looking for a warm, peachy pink coral blush to add to your collection/treasure trove, you might make a spot for Sisley L’Orchidèe Highlighter Blush on your Bloomingdale’s shopping list.
PRICE: $108
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Bloomingdale’s and also online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B (a solid A, if not for the jaw-dropping price)

P.S. TGIF!
Sunny @ Mostly Sunny says
This is a pretty blush, but in presentation and in color, but the price makes me want to quickly click on the x of the page!
TGIF! Game of Gravy? Hahaha. I love that lil tabby, but Tabs is the real king!
Karen says
It’s because of his girth! His heft is like power currency in cat culture, LOL!
Arianne says
Gulp! $108!!! That’s just all kinds of wrong, but it looks nice. I will however keep my money for NOMs for the Scherbs. 🙂
Happy Friday, Karen and King Tabs.
Karen says
Haha, true that! You know the Scherbs is all about top tier gravy!
Ruchita says
Wow, that blush looks gorgeous in the pan! However, I’ll probably admire it from afar. The price tag is a bit to steep for me.
Tabs looks right at home sitting on the throne, ruling over his minions. 🙂 I’m really looking foward to season two of Game of Thrones!
Karen says
It’s even more beautiful in person! But yeah…think of all the tacos, LOL!
Whatcha got planned for the weekend, Ruchita?
Ruchita says
I’ve gotta whole lot of nothing planned for the weekend. 🙂 I’m hoping to get to the theater to watch 21 Jump Street. It looks really funny.
Karen says
I saw it a couple weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. It’s hilarious, and Channing Tatum is really good.
dani@callitbeauty says
For $108, that blush better perform a song & dance number for me :p.
Emi at Project Swatch says
It’s lovely, but that price? Nope – my most expensive makeup item is currently the $60-something Guerlain Parure de Nuit, and I hope that stays the most expensive item for a looooong time!

I likeeee the design. It looks elegant.

When I was growing up I used to watch LIfestyles of the RIch and Famous and it always gave me a sick feeling at the pit of my stomach (probably compounded by the fact that I lived in Newark). Seeing companies put out makeup for 100$ and upwards gives me that same feeling. Really, 108$?!? Come on.
corallista says
Its does give you a subtle warm glow and the pan pattern is so beautiful!

TGIF! off to the vets in an hour or so for a LOL checkup.
that powder is seriously pretty and looks seriously awesome on you. im going to stop looking at it so it doesnt end up in a shopping cart and purchased. 😀
Karen says
Is LOL okay?
Nina says
He has the allergies like his mom. The vet said that its seasonal and there’s really not much that can be done other than TLC. Oh and antibiotic drops…
Karen says
Aww, poor lil’ guy! I didn’t know kitties could get allergies. Is his still indoor/outdoor? Or is he completely indoor like the rest of the fur kids?
Nina says
He is totally indoor, but since he roamed the streets for a bit, the vet thinks his immune system is a tad weaker as compared to a totally indoor cat. Hes made the transition so very well and is actually our most affectionate kitty. 🙂
He seems to be sneezing less. Which is a big relief!
Karen says
I’m so glad that you were able to give him a forever home. He sounds like an amazing kitty. 🙂

I would be tempted I have to be honest…I LOVE the pattern. Such beautiful colours.
But for now I will stick with Tarte at $28 I think …

Hi Karen,
I am a real fan of ” Eau du Soir ” but I don’t like Sisley make-up at all. This powder looks ok but I will not buy it, I prefer perfumes from Sisley definitely !

Give me a friggen break! …excuse the language… I think the “lipstick effect” has come and gone in this market. Some makeup has gotten to be as expensive (or close to it) as buying a designer scarf, handbag, or even shoes (if they’re on sale). It’s really getting annoying cause who do they think they’re fooling. Puuhleeeze!! Chantecaille is also another expensive one and Chanel is creeping up there too… I feel more like they keep pushing up the price of these goods just to take advantage of the consumer, who they think will buy whatever they put out at an extremely high price tag. argh…. I just get so annoyed!
…there I’ve said my peace…
gio says
That blush is absolutely gorgeous! But the price is insane!
Vonvon says
Crazy price, but the design is soooo pretty!
Nivedita says
$108! I would keep it safe in my bank!!
But on a serious note, it’s too lovely to be used!
Maria says
I LOVE orchids and since I love makeup just as much, would maybe buy this and never use it just because it’s both! I’m assuming the top of the case is nothing special since there are no pix of it??

I thought of you yesterday while shopping at Trader Joe’s. I know you’d been using a Burt’s Bees soap to clean your makeup brushes, but I wondered if you’ve ever used Dr Bronner’s soap. It seems to work well, but I wondered if there were some reason not to use that…
JennySue Makeup says
Holy benjamins- that’s a lotta cash for a blush!! It would need to give me Cindy Crawford-like cheekbones for me to pay that much. On a positive note, it is truly beautiful on this inside, but still, probably wouldn’t hold a candle to my Nars “Orgasm” which now looks like drugstore prices compared to this thing!! Ha!
BeckBeck says
I am by no means frugal with my makeup purchases (I own more Chanel than I’d admit to many people), but I don’t think I could break the $100 barrier for a color item. Being totally honest, I’d probably pay that for an everyday-use skincare item if I really loved it, but given the number of much less expensive blushes I already own that look gorgeous on, I couldn’t pull the trigger on this.
coco says
Well, I’ve just bought it on sephora France, I’ve tested it several days ago and it is heavenly pretty and very appropriate for summer. Sisley is cheaper here so I paid 48 euros (~63 $) with 20% voucher code.
Julia says
I bought this yesterday, infact myself and my friend bought one each. I saw it in the shop and realised what it was. Felt a bit guilty about buying it at £60 but it is the most gorgeous blush I have ever seen. It feels fantastic and can be used to highlight all the face and even my eyes.
A one off purchase but something I will be using everyday this summer, why put it in a draw for it to go bad? Love, love love it.
