“Child,” Mom would always tell me, “put some lotion on those ashy legs!”
“No,” I’d calmly reply. “I hate lotion. It burns.”
Of course, Mom was right, and by the time I’d hit my late teens I was applying lotion like it was a job, religiously, with all the seriousness it deserved.
Unfortunately, I’ve gotten kinda lax about body lotion lately. Busy days have left me with barely enough energy to shower, much less full-body moisturize.
Thank goodness for Vaseline Aloe Fresh Moisturizing Daily Body Gel ($6), aka my tired (and dry) booty’s BFF.
I’ve been using this lightweight moisturizer a lot this week, and I’m flat-out obsessed, which is admittedly something that happens to me a lot, ha! 🙂
Not only do I love how well it works, as in how fast it absorbs and all that, but I love the summery aloe Vera scent.
A little goes a long way (something that took me about a day to figure out), and when I was using too much, it was leaving my skin a little sticky.
Vaseline Aloe Fresh Gel is fast AND cheap (but not in a sleazy way), and quite possibly my new summer skin staple. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A+
District 9
T-minus one hour till the weekend!
Tonight El Hub and I are supposed to go see District 9, a new science fiction movie about aliens living among us.
Sometimes that’s how I feel things are with Tabs…
Whatchu got on your radar tonight? 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Tonight I’m gonna rest! LOL It’s that I have to wake up early tomorrow…I’m going on a week long trip with my family to a province called Cordoba, I love it! And I feel like dying (is that how you spell it? I always get confused!) my hair red, a la Ashlee Simpson / Isla Fisher / etc. What do you think? I’m sorta freaked out 😀
Enjoy the movie! 😀

I have the gel too, and I really like that it isn’t sticky like most aloe gels are! I just wish it were less expensive. I only bought it because CVS had a good deal (possibly BOGO?) on it.

That looks really good! I used to have an aloe plant, and it was definitely great at moisturizing!
Question; how much do you use for your entire body? About a tablespoon?
Michelle (Lipstick Rules) says
Ironic you’ve posted this as I just bought a new body lotion today. I too have neglected using lotion but now I’m into it again and obsessed with exfoliating! I might give this a try too!

Tonight I’m hopefully going to sleep, because my sister’s wedding is tomorrow.
I hate body lotion just like Little Karen, haha. I don’t like the heavy, sticky feeling. I may have to check this stuff out; aloe vera doesn’t have that problem.

I really don’t care for it for some reason. I guess maybe I’m using too much, but it burns so bad after I shave my legs. =/
Kate & Zena says
Oh, living with Zena is like living with an alien. She’s so bizarre. There are things that Zena does just for entertainment it seems (ex. side crawling along the carpeted floor). I don’t know why she does it but it sure is funny.
My mom used to put 100% aloe gel (sticky no matter what) on my sunburns when I was a kid. I got a huge second degree sunburn that went from the back of my neck to the back of my ankles from falling asleep on my stomach on the lawn chair in my swimming suit and that aloe vera stung something fierce. I’ve had a few sunburns between my shoulder blades and on top of my shoulders and it always stings to put on aloe vera. No wonder I’m so diligent about sunscreen lotion and avoid aloe vera gel like a plague now.
Ha ha, my doctor berated me on my ashy, dry skin when I was 15 and suggested I use Aveeno. I’ve been addicted ever since. My doc is scary when she lectures but she’s a brilliant physician.
Tonight-wise, I’ll probably be stitching more rows of my quilt today. I got big long rows all stitched together by sewing machine but now I have to stitch the rows together. Thank God for the sewing machine. It takes about five minutes to stitch the rows together but it would take five times longer by hand!

Sounds like this product is a good find!
I was going to watch The Dark Knight but opted to watch August Rush. I love me some Jonathan Rhys Myers. Ordered some Indian food & did laundry. Exciting Friday night. But if I am not going out on Friday nights I rather do something productive so that I have all weekend long to play.
Have a great weekend!

I’ve definitely been lazy about applying the lotion lately… and my legs are getting itchy because of it, lol. I’m going to have to keep this in mind next time I’m out for lotion. =)

I always buy new body lotions only cause I like the package or how they smell, or simply cause I like the commercial on tv. I use it for about 3-4 days in a row and after I’m simply tired of the procedure. I guess I’m to lazy for body lotions. I can put creams on my face everyday, morning and night, masks and so on, but when it comes to applying body lotions i just feel lazy all of the sudden.
