I figure it’s only a matter of time before it happens…
…a bite from a radioactive spider, a shot of super soldier serum, contact with a meteor fragment from the other side of the galaxy — sooner or later, it’s bound to happen, but since one can never predict the exact moment of their superhero transformation, it’s a good idea to be prepared.
You’ll need an outfit (cape or no cape?), a heroic hairstyle and oh! — can’t forget the makeup.
Superman might be able to just tear off his tweed blazer, toss his glasses aside and slick back his hair, but we ladies like to go the extra mile, like Catwoman, with her black liner and red lipstick (I can only imagine the leaps and bounds her credit card takes at Sephora).
Superhero Karen wouldn’t dream of leaving the house without long-wearing, waterproof eye makeup on her lids and lashes, since saving lives frequently involves 1) perspiration and 2) inclement weather.
(And it’s a fairly safe bet that she and Storm would cross paths every so often.)
One thing’s for sure — she’ll need a really good eye makeup remover, something able to vanquish everything, including waterproof mascara.
Wait! — what’s that?! Up there in the sky! It’s a bird, a plane, it’s Milani Instant Eye Makeup Remover!! 🙂
A dual-phase liquid formula free of oil, silicone and artificial fragrances, it bats aside eye makeup like the Hulk bats aside cars. Cost: $5.99.
Just give the bottle a quick shake to mix the liquid components together, drip a few drops on a cotton ball, wipe all of your makeup away (dayum! — see how fast that was?), and rinse with water.
Long-wearing gel liner, waterproof mascara, primer — nothing stands in its way — and it works without clouding up my eyes or leaving my skin feeling greasy.
If Lancôme Bi-Facil had a super-powered drugstore twin, it would be called Milani Instant Eye Makeup Remover, and for $5.99, it’s one of the least expensive drugstore makeup removers in the superhero universe.
Saving the world a few bucks at a time. Yes, please!
PRICE: $5.99 for a 4-ounce bottle
AVAILABILITY: Available now at drugstores and online at milani.com
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+
From superhero to super stoked!
Hourglass fall 2012 just landed on the sephora.com website with a thunderous KABOOM! — and a new line of nine non-drying, full-coverage, long-lasting $28 lipsticks called Opaque Rouge Liquid. They promise vibrant color and a velvety matte finish able to last 14 hours without flaking.
From top to bottom: Ballet (a vibrant pink), Canvas (a dusty rose), Edition (a soft pink), Empress (an aubergine), Icon (a cherry red), Muse (a coral), Raven (an orange red), Rivera (a tangerine) and Rose (a medium rose)
Hmm… Those brights look promising.

I really wonder how this compares to my trusty Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. I don’t believe in spending a lot of $ on an eye makeup remover so this one sounds lovely. Too bad it’s only available online. I might check it out if they roll it out in-stores
Oh, and those Hourglass glosses look gorgeous! I haven’t tried any of their glosses yet, but I bet they’re amazing!

The Milani Instant Eye Makeup Remover sounds awesome. Thanks for the heads up, can’t wait to try it.

Oh wow, I’ve gotta try this. I loved the Sephora and Nyx makeup remover like this, as well as Sonia Kashuk’s.

so excited to try this! i always felt so guilty for spending almost 30 bucks i don’t have on a good makeup remover… it just seems like a waste… but none of the others remove everything (including waterproof mascara). THANK YOU!!

Milani is coming out with some good stuff, and I could use a better waterproof makeup removing method other than facial wipes, scrubbing and washing a few times to get the makeup off.

I JUST ordered a dual-phase eye makeup remover from an online drugstore, I wish I had read your review before!! The one I got is Lumene and it had good reviews, I hope it’s gonna be as good as Milani’s…

I’ve been wanting to check the Milani remover out. Thank you for this review! 🙂

Yay! Using oil cleanser on my eyes have been making my eye area too greasy and clogged. I can’t wait to check this out! 🙂

I have a Neutrogena remover that sounds similar but I’m not super in love with it. Maybe I’ll try the Milani next.
The Hourglass lipsticks sound quite promising. Anything I can apply once and have it last all day is a winner. I have a feeling these might be drying, though. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
I always thought a cape would be mandatory but now I feel like it would get in the way of my hand to hand combat. Your enemies pulling your cape is as low as someone on the playground pulling your hair, but you can’t expect the evil henchmen to have scruples. Therefore, no cape. 🙂

Thanks for the reccomendation! I didn’t know Milani had an eye makeup remover, but I will definitely check this out.

Dual-phase removers aren’t for me. Every one I’ve tried has been a nightmare for my eyes.
That said, the hourglass lipsticks look promising! I’m especially curious about the orange shades.

I was reading another blog and the blogger said it was only available online and not in stores. Hopefully, it is available at Target or Bed Bath & Beyond/Harmons because I’ve been wanting to try this out. I’m excited to see how it compares to the Sonia Kashuk eye makeup remover, which I love, but it’s quite pricey ($10) for me since I have to buy a new one every 6-8 weeks.

I must find the Milani makeup remover. My eyes are suffering from my current makeup remover!!!

I’m about a year late…but this is what I have been looking for, a cruelty-free, drugstore eye make-up remover that should remove waterproof mascara. I’ve never used waterproof mascara until this summer and the one I have takes some effort with the current remover I have. (Some Body Shop Chamomile remover that stings my eyes…) I borrowed a friends Target copy of Neutrogena eye make up remover and didn’t care for it.
I will have to try this one and I hope it doesn’t make my eyes cloudy or sting and removes mascara well.
