Every time I visit a drugstore, I walk in to get one or two things but end up leaving with a whole basket full o’ haul. ‘Tis the weirdest thing!
So, when I stopped by my local Longs Drugs store today I started by getting the things I actually needed to get: a new Conair paddle brush, Reach mint floss and a bottle of hand soap for the kitchen.
I went with the Burt’s Bees Citrus & Ginger Root hand soap because it smelled good and I liked the bottle. I hope it doesn’t dry out my paws!
After the soap, I started wandering around the makeup aisle (danger!). That’s where the serious hauling occurred. I found this mystery jar of mysterious stuff. I had no idea what it was, but it only cost three bucks! It had a drawing of a horse on it and the words, “Healthy Hoof.” Yeah… I sooooo had to have it.
Next up: Rimmel eye pencils (Two True, Dynamic Duo and Pine) and a Revlon makeup removing pen that Megan here from the blog told me about a few months ago.
Then, I found this green, beige and brown eyeshadow quad from L’Oreal. It caught my eye because of the name: Aishwarya’s Greens. Aishwarya, as in the smokin’ hot Aishwarya Rai, one of my favorite Bollywood stars. Sometimes I get up early on weekends to watch Indian music videos on Namaste America, even though I don’t understand anything they’re saying.
Last, but not least, I picked up some treats for my tummy…
…and my mind!
In total, today’s haul…
- Rimmel Eye Twist in Dynamic Duo – a double-sided, twist-up liner and shadow pencil in shades of purple
- Rimmel Eye Twist in Two True – same thing as above, but in green
- Rimmel Exaggerate Full Colour Eye Definer in Pine – a twist-up, auto-sharpening eyeliner similar to MAC’s Technakohl
- Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen – a pen makeup remover to erase eye and lip makeup mistakes
- L’Oreal Aishwarya’s Greens Quad – a four color shadow quad in beige, brown and green shades
- Conair Professional Paddle Brush
- Healthy Hoof (LOLOLZ) Intensive Protein Treatment
- Reach Dental Floss
- Burt’s Bees Citrus and Ginger Root Hand Soap
- LifeSavers Gummies Wild Berries
- Us Weekly
How do you drugstore haul? Do you go in for one thing and stick to your guns, or does thy basket overflow?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

If you have time, you could do a review on the Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen? I’ve been debating whether I should try it out or not, I don’t know anyone who has it. Thank you!
Karen says
Heck ya, Laurel! I make plenty o’ mistakes along the makeup process way so I am guessing I’ll get a lot of use out of it if it works. 🙂

haha, Healthy Hoof is right up there with Mane & Tail shampoo (my mom used it for a while and loved it), Bag Balm, and Udderly Smooth (which I will one day buy out of curiosity). I always have a list when I go to the store, but other items end up in my basket – I don’t know how! I’ve been pretty good about sticking to my list lately though.

Haha I am the same way, I went into Rite-Aid today JUST to get cough drops and I come out with like 5 other things I DON’T need, lol. Damn them!
Did you watch the premiere??! Heidi looked different…lips perhaps?
breezy says
I’m just like you, I go in with a plan, and as soon as I see the makeup aisle its like I get amnesia. Last time I went in for one thing, ONE darn thing and walked out with all sorts of stuff but what I had gone in for. ARGH!
Two True looks so pretty! So is the darker color the liner? Wish I could use it as a crease color.
And I am so with you on Aishwarya, she is so stinkin hot isn’t she?! I got her lipstick and that’s really nice too. LOL I love that you get up to watch her on Indian TV, I think I’ve seen her on a music video but I cracked up the whole time.
One more thing, have you tried any of the Milani line? I really like their shadows but they have a liner or shadow pencil duo kinda like Rimmel and I was wondering how good it was so just checking.
tricia says
Yes I always go in with a list in my mind cause I always forget the hard copy at home. Then as soon as I walk in, boom I always forget why I went there in the first place, but I sure dont leave empty handed. Ialways buy everything else except the item I originally went to get. Then I get to the register and I get my total then I am like what did I just buy, it does not hit me until I leave the store. Just to return the next day/days later to try and purcahse the only item/items I was suppose to originally purchase the first time.
Karina says
I wish I could remember when I first saw a beauty mag rave about Healthy Hoof, but I don’t want to date myself LOL! It’s great for cuticles and nails. I’m sure you can guess, but the product was originally for keeping horses hooves nice and healthy (the jar of product was much bigger..)
Sal says
I always go into drugstores with an open mind. That way I don’t disappoint any expectations and always surprise myself when I walk out with random things I wanted needed.
Meanwhile, that Rimmel pencil, it’s auto sharpening? I have the exact same one in black, but it’s got this nifty lil sharpener you pull outta the other end to sharpen your tip.
Or maybe it’s different..
Off to Malaysia in 6 hours (2 hour drive to airport, 7am flight. sigh). I’ll soak some rays for you 😉
Haley says
Healthy Hoof is awesome!! It makes your nails really strong.. but it doesn’t smell so good. I rub it on my bare nails at night when I’m in between polish changes… good stuff.
Dao says
Once upon a time I had a Rimmel pencil and it smudged like crazy! I gave it to my mom who has normal skin (not oily like me) and it worked for her. Nice haul! I went to Target for a “field trip” some days ago and got 1 e/s from L’oreal HIP and another one from Milani. Both of them came out with a grand total of $9.60! I got 3 eye shadows for less than $10 and they’re very pigmented. Department store brands are just overpriced!

I got the Revlon Makeup Eraser Pen right after it came out and I really like it! I use it mostly when I make and oops with my mascara or eyeliner.
I’v found that after I use it, I need to wait a little bit before I reapply an eyeshadow that may have come up with my mistake. But it’s a great little tool and sure beats a Q-tip!

Karen,
I also love going to a drugstore and start picking things i don´t really need. 😀
Oh, here in Spain we have some L´oreal- Aishwarya eyeshadows, but they look different, an eyeshadow trio with in a shiny black compact. 🙂
Maybe you have those too and the palette you just purchased is another one?
Who knows?

The husband says I should try and get a job at Rite-Aid, CVS, or Walgreens so I at least get a discount from all the shopping I do there.lol..doesn’t he realize if I work there thats just going to give me more time to look for things and I’ll bring home new goodies every day..haha!!

You work those hooves, girl! 😀
I was in the drugstore just the other day grabbing some Max Factor Lash Perfection (still a fab, every day, fuss-free mascara). I love looking at all the stuff, but I rarely splurge these days unless I’ve heard in advance that a product rocks. Too many cash outlays resulting in poor color payoff, durnit! The other thing that’s really weird is that I’ll happily walk into Nordstrom and pay $30 for a Chanel glossimer, but at the drugstore I’m all “What?! $8 for a lip gloss? No way, I’m waiting until it’s on sale!” Some sort of psychological condition, no doubt! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Diana,
I totally have a thing for weird beauty products for barn animals. Bag Balm rules! I haven’t tried Udderly Smooth yet (I can’t seem to find it!) but I’m dying to. I put some Healthy Hoof on my hooves last night and they’re feeling pretty smooth this morning, LOL.
Karen says
Hi Ilovecheese,
Yah they do! Have you hauled at the drugstore lately?
Karen says
Heya Vanessa,
I did! I didn’t think that Lauren looked diff on film, but when they showed the live shots of her hosting I did. I couldn’t quite figure it out. Maybe she lost a little bit of weight? I couldn’t put my finger on it.
I thought Heidi looked totally different, though. Her lips looked much fuller.
Karen says
Hi Breezy,
Me too! It happens big time when two for one sales are in session, LOL!
The darker color on those double sided pencils are the liner. I like ’em because they are pretty pigmented and seem to glide on fairly easily. Can’t wait to play with these today.
OH, I didn’t see the Aishwarya lipstick but I’ll have to look for it when I go back (hee!). I so love Indian music videos! When El Hub and I first got together he’d find me up early watching Namaste America and would be like, “Um, what’s going on?”
I am sad to say that I’ve *never* tried any of the Milani items because I can’t find it up where I live! I’ve seen it in downtown at one Walgreens and that’s it. Now that I no longer work in the city it’s hard for me to get to it. I’ve heard so many great things about the shadows!
Karen says
Hi Tricia,
I do the same thing all the time. Yesterday I almost forgot about the hand soap (eek) because the soap isle was so dangerously close to the makeup and I was almost distracted from my original mission. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Karina,
I think I got the starter/travel jar! Dang, I wish I had a horse to put this on. I’d hook that horse up with a hoof mani/pedi and then do my own nails, LOLOL!
Karen says
Hi Sal,
Yup, you just twist it up out of the tube! I am super lazy and I hate sharpening pencils, so I look for the ones that you can just twist and go!
Have fun in Malaysia. Are you going for work or for play?
Karen says
Hi Haley,
I put some on my cuticles last night while I a watched Sex & the City on TBS last night. They seem a lil’ smoother this morning! I have to take off my polish today so I will try massaging it into my nails tonight. Thanks for the tip. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Dao,
GREAT HAUL! True, department store stuff is pricy, but I always like to have both a mix of department store and drugstore in my makeup stash! What are your fave drugstore makeup products? I love Neutrogena blushes, Rimmel pencils and L’Oreal mascara!
Karen says
Hi Jessica D,
OK, I have to come clean… Instead of getting a cone I got a pint of Haagen Daz vanilla frozen yogurt! I ended up eating it with some cut up strawberries for dessert. YUM! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Tuprnut,
I’ve been looking for it for the longest time and couldn’t find it until now! I dunno… maybe we get late distribution or something here on the west side (the same thing happened with Cover Girl Lash Blast; I couldn’t find it forever and then all of the sudden BAM, there it was).
I am currently typing in my jammies sans makeup but can’t wait to try this out! I will be sure to use your tip and give it a lil’ time before reapplying. 🙂
How are you this Friday? Anything exciting going on with you?
Karen says
Hi Eru!
Hmmm, I think ours are packaged differently here in the US, which is not uncommon for several makeup lines. All of the specialty shadows in this line had four colors.
I might have to go back today during lunch to get some tissue because my allergies are acting up. I will have to will myself away from the makeup. 🙂
Happy Friday! What are you doing this weekend?
Karen says
Hi Tonya,
Both are great, but it depends on what type of products you intend on using it with. It you want to use it primarily with cream/liquid products, try the synthetic 249 (so fab for Paint Pots, Cream Color Bases, old school Paint in the tube). The 252 I use primarily for powder shadows, however, it does double duty to apply cream/liquid products if need be. 🙂
When are you popping by your MAC counter? Are ya picking up anything else?
I hope you have a great weekend, too! Are you doing anything fun?
Karen says
Hi LaurenIvy,
LOL, so, a few years ago for my wedding my homegirl Liz gave me a Walgreens gift card because she knew that I loved the drug store so freakin’ much. It actually came in really handy! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
OH! I went on a mall date with El Hub last night and sooo dragged him to the Chanel counter. I swatched the Khaki single shadow again and almost swooned. I didn’t get anything because of the drugstore haul damage (boo) but will stop by again today to “visit” with Gazelle. 🙂

Today’s going really well – my daughter has recovered from a week-long crabbiness fest. Thank God! We went to the library today for “Toddler Time” – oh my – I wish I could send you video. Grace is crazy during reading time and is always running around grabbing books from shelves, dancing in the middle of story time and just going nuts. We have so much fun and it’s always nice to get out of the house.
We’re heading to the mall this afternoon to continue our celebration of crabby-free Friday. This weekend should be pretty low key – I think we’ll probably go to the park and watch some movies.
Happy Friday, my blogging buddy. Enjoy your time in your jammies!
Dao says
Yeah, I like to mix them up too. My favorite drugstore brands are L’Oreal, Neutrogena, and recently Milani. There’s nothing I can’t love from L’Oreal: their mascaras are the best, eyeshadows are so pigmented, and foundation are ok too. Since I throw away my mascara every 3 months, L’Oreal is a good and reliable brand for these fast-turnover items. I used to have the So Naturale foundation and it is love. Their blushes are also really cute too! Neutrogena has the best foundation in the drugstore that provides enough coverage and doesn’t break me out, but I’m no longer using drugstore foundation. Milani has the best eyeshadows ever, period!
I also love the Volume exact mascara from Cover Girl too. I guest mascaras are the best products that CV has. Maybelline probably has the best lipsticks and glosses in the drugstore but their mascaras and eyeshadows don’t do much for me. Max Factor is something my mom and aunties used to beautify themselves. Do you remember the swivel Max Factor sticks back in the 80s? I remember the aunties used to share with each other those sticks and they were always 2, 3 shades lighter than their own skin colors. Sometimes I just walked around the drugstore trying to see if they still sell the sticks 😀
About 3 years ago I finally persuaded my mom to stop using Ivory Beige foundation on her NC 40-something face 😀 She took my advice somewhat, now using something in the upper NC 30-ish range.
One of my aunties is really cool. One time I talked to her and she was like, “Girl, there’s a BOGO at CVS on Revlon and such and such brands. Go get yourself some makeup!”

Hi Tuprnut,
Grace sounds crazy cute. I love when lil’ ones go nuts and just start dancing with joy and doing all the crazy things they do. SO CUTE! Sounds like you two had lots of fun had lots of fun at the library. When I was a kid I remember going to the library all the time with my dad. I always felt very special because it was something we did together, and of course, I could always get as many books as I wanted! 🙂
LOL, it’s almost noon and I’m still rocking the plaid old man pajama bottoms and the UC Davis t-shirt! I will eventually have to get ready to venture out into the world because the hubby is coming home for lunch and we’re going to the diner across the street for lunch, and I afterwards I have to go to the mall to do some uh, “research.”
Sounds like your weekend is going to be fabulously low-key (love that). Will you be visiting any makeup counters at the mall today? I hope so!
Karen says
Hi Dao,
I have to find a way to get my hands on some Milani, ASAP! Ahhhh!
It’s been a few since I’ve used Maybelline lipsticks and glosses. I will have to check em out when I go back to the drugstore next. I totally remember that Max Factor stick! It was like pancake makeup, right? It’s been years since I’ve seen one.
Dang girl, the 80s were rough in foundation land if you were any other shade than beige, I remember that much from my mom, too. She ended up getting some Mary Kay stuff which I’d sneak into every once in a while, hee! Did your aunties every use that Coty loose powder? I remember that being popular, too.
Your aunt is so hip and cute! You should totally raid her makeup stash, cause I bet she’s got some good stuff!
Karen says
Hi Kia,
Oh those Haribo gummies… have you ever had the peach rings? I lived on those my senior year of college!
Yeah, we’ll see how these goodies perform. I saved my receipt just in case I need to return ’em, but I hope they perform well! *fingers crossed*
Tonya says
Thanks for the info on the brushes. What brush do you use to smoke out powder shadows in the crease? I read in one of your archives that you that you don’t use your 224 brush because it gets stuff all over the place. That’s usually what I use, so I’m curious what you’re using for your fab results.
I was at MAC yesterday. Needed a new mascara, foundation was completely gone (hyper real – love!) and I picked up a clear brow setting gel, which is awesome. I’m there so much all the girls know me by name. They’re my make-up friends. 🙂
I signed up for their next event in May. I guess it’s a nautical collection. Sounds fun!
This weekend I’m a girl with a weekend to herself. My daughter is at her dad’s house and my boyfriend is off to Michigan for a boys weekend.
It’s just me and the kitty. Looking forward to some gym time, quiet time, and meeting a friend for a drink tonight.
How about you?

Ha! I love dragging Hubby to the mall! He hates it, of course! Then I drag him over to the counter and I say “Oooohh, isn’t this color fantastic?” and he gives a *Shrug*, “Whatever.” I’m always waiting for him to say “Oh, yes, my darling! That color is so exquisite on you! Of course you must have it right now! No, let ME buy it for you!” Even while I know that this is in the realm of flying pink ponies that poop butterflies, there’s a little part of my heart that just can’t give up the fantasy! 😀
TUPRNUT says
Oh, your “research” sounds fun. I wish I had a “research” buddy to prowl the counters with!
We may hit up ULTA today (it depends if Grace is in a grabby-mood or not… otherwise things get a little out of control with so many products and too-narrow aisles). Von Maur is supposed to launch Laura Mercier coming up sometime soon, so I may stop in and see if it’s up yet or not. Otherwise, I’ll have to wait to get my hands on some Mercier goodies.
Enjoy lunch with your husband!
Amanda says
Burt’s bees handwash is FAB-love it, i’ve gone thru a couple of bottles of the stuff. I find it very gentle. I tend to just go to Target, which is just as bad as a drugstore for me….plus more “other stuff” (erm, clothes, dog toys, gadets, snacks) to choose from. bad news….but fun!
Karen says
Hi Tonya,
To smoke out colors in the crease I use several different brushes; it really depends on what’s clean and within my reach. I have noticed that in general the heads are smaller, fluffy and rounded. I’ve found that for crease work these shapes work for me… it took a lot of trial and error though, and many, many bad makeup days, LOL. I’ve found the ones I go back to over and over again are…
MAC: 275 (outer crease/outer V) and the always fab 217.
Sephora: I have a few sephora ones from their smokey eye brush kit that are surprisingly awesome. They don’t have numbers, but the names are: shader and all over shadow.
Billy B. Paintbrush #6: Oh this fits perfectly in the crease for me. Love it.
That’s awesome that you’ve got MAC makeup buddies! It makes the experience fun when you have people to gab with who are equally excited about makeup. I am going to stop by today to check out some technakohls! I heard about the Nautical collection. Blues are hit and miss for me so we shall see!
OH, I relish those weekends to myself. They are few and far between. Sounds like yours is going to be relaxing, mellow and fun.
I just got back from lunch with my husband and now I’m about to go to the mall to do some “research” (LOL) and to pick up some shampoo. My hair goes nuts if I don’t have my Bumble & Bumble. Tonight I’m going to the gym (it’s a weights day); afterwards I’ll probably watch a movie at home on DVD. This weekend though will be full of writing (yay) and some cleaning. I also want to take my camera out to take some pics if the weather is nice!
Anyway, what kind of cat do you have? I am so jonsing for the neighbor’s tabby right now! I haven’t seen him in a few days and I miss him, boo hoo.
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
Sometimes I think the makeup counters should have a separate lounge for boys, complete with a flat screen, snacks and black leather couches. The movie “The Maxtrix” could just play over and over again on the TV. OH! So random…. El Hub and I had a major breakthrough at the Chanel counter. I swatched a Glossimer on my hand and said, “Ohhhh, this coral is HOT!”. He replied back, “You love corals and look good in them.” LOLOL! Guess who’s been reading the blog?!?!
Karen says
Tuprnut!
If I was your neighbor I’d totally knock on your door and invite you to do some afternoon “research” at the makeup counter with me.
I can’t wait for you to play with some LM goodies. Hopefully the launch will be just in time for Golddigger (WOOT).
Awww, maybe one day Grace will be begging you to take her to Ulta so you can go makeup shopping together! 🙂 I have a feeling that when I become a mom I’m going to pop out a bunch of boys, but maybe destiny will give me a girl who is into makeup.
Karen says
Hi Amanda,
Target is like a black hole for me. I go in for laundry detergent and it’s light out, and then I leave and all of the sudden it’s night time (and I have a cart full of stuff). I have NO IDEA how that happens, either, LOLOLZ!
Tonya says
I have the 275 and the 217, which I love….I just wanted to see what your favs are. After your commentary on the billy b brushs, I think I’ll order a few to try!
Yeah, I’m not sure if I’ll love the nautical collection, but I always love when a new one comes out…gives me a reason to go check out some new things.
Oh, you’re a bumble & bumble girl too! That’s all I’ve been using for the past couple of years. I use the Coco Shampoo and Conditioner and a bevy of their styling products. They work the best on my hair. I have coarse curling hair that I flat iron. B&B is the best!
We have a chocolate Persian named Coco. She came with that name not because of my shampoo! She’ll be two in June. We’re getting another one, the breeder is having a litter in April. Not sure what color or kind she’ll be yet, but we’re going to name her Puff to play off of Coco’s name. Can’t wait.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Hi Karen! Been reading your blog for the last couple of weeks. It’s great!! I’m Indian and am so familiar with Aishwarya Rai. I think it’s so cool that so many people here watch Namaste America! If you can, you should check out another show called Showbiz India. Same concept.
I’ve tried Healthy Hoof but didn’t like it. I didn’t like the smell and I felt it never really was absorbed into my cuticles. But I know other people will like it. It will be interesting to see you review.
I’ve been using the Revlon Eraser for almost a year. I love it. The only thing I’ve noticed about it is that you have to wait a little bit to reapply something on the area where you erased because it’s some type of oily-feeling residue. The other thing I’ve noticed is that after I use it, I have to take a Kleenex and wipe the tip, otherwise, it will swipe what I just erased on to the next area where I use it. But, it’s a really good eraser. Better than Sephora’s brand.
Karen says
Hi Tonya,
The Billy B. eye brushes are fab! I wish the handles were longer (because I’m clumsy and short brushes are hard for me to use) but still, they perform great.
True! I love seeing new collections because even if you aren’t feeling it at first you never know what hidden gems you’ll find.
I’ve never tried the Coco line, but I’ve smelled both the shampoo and conditioner and hello, yummy. My faves are Gentle shampoo and Super Rich conditioner. When I went to Vegas last month I had a fit when I realized I forgot to bring both. SIGH. That was a rough hair weekend. What other stuff from Bumble do you like?
Your kitty, Coco, sounds so cute! I hope she’s not going to be jealous of Puff, though, when she comes to live with you.
You have a faboo weekend, girlie!
Karen says
Hi Victoria,
Yah, I can’t wait to use it. I wore minimal makeup today (not even mascara, yowza) so I couldn’t test it out. But I might play tonight with some colors just for fun so we’ll see if I get to break it in. 🙂
I love Indian music vids because of all the dancing and all the drama. Now I totally want to listen to that music station you guys found!
Karen says
Hi Iheartmakeup,
For sure! I will play with it tonight or tomorrow and see what transpires. I will try it both with a dry and wet brush and see what transpires!
Karen says
Hi Shefali!
So great to meet you! Good call on Showbiz India… I watch that sometimes too!
I’m really expecting Healthy Hoof to give me some healthy hooves. Seriously, I need a pony to do some co-testing with. 🙂
Oh, another commenter, the lovely Tuprnut, mentioned that too. Okay, I will def wait for a spell before reapplying and also clean off the tip. This is my first makeup eraser so I’m excited to try it.
Thanks for saying hi and hope your weekend is off to a great start. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
Awww, your hub is a sweetie pie! 🙂
I should probably patent that boys lounge idea!
Karen says
Hi Tania,
Ha ha! So, I have to confess, I loves me the dolla-dolla-bills-ya’ll store too. The one in the mall is so fab, because you can get so many RANDOM things! It’s kinda of like looting through pirate treasure.
Your comment just reminded me that I need to get some arch supports too (I forgot to get ’em at the drugstore the other day, oy). I like the Dr. Scholl’s ones!
Glosslizard says
I think all of us would thank you! Less-stressed husbands and longer shopping trips! Whee!

I have the Aishwarya Rai trio for green eyes. I like it but the eyeshadow doesn’t really pick up well with my eyeshadow brush… pout

Hi Glosslizard,
Yah, so true. I would also add some recliners, beer and perhaps some gaming devices as well. Then all male significant others across the globe would be like, “Oh my god, honey! Can I take you shopping for makeup? Please?”
Karen says
Hi Karen B,
Yeah, I’m guessing I’m gonna have to wet my brush first with these colors.
LOL, I also would’ve taken pictures of the popcorn and the Peach-Mango Vitamin Water I got, but I ate it before I could take the snaps.

K…so I have to admit I work for a specialty pharmacy (working with high dollar biologicals – injectables, infusions etc.)…which is owned by a huge pharmacy benefits manager…which actually merged with CVS in early 2007. So long story short I get an employee discount at CVS – 20% off all regular priced items and 30% off anything CVS branded. Plus they regularly do employee promotions where we get an extra 10-20% on certain days. This is good and bad in many ways…:-) but yes I tend to drugstore haul. Especially since my local CVS is within walking distance of home. I’m actually headed there this evening after I finish a couple things…
I’m with TUPRNUT on the makeup corrector pen. I found that if I had eyeshadow on already it didn’t mess with it unless I was overzealous with the pen, but if I was putting something else on after correction you need to give it a sec. I especially love it because on occasion I am known to put make up on on the go (i.e. in the car – not while driving unless at a long light:-))

I have that L’Oreal quad and I love it. Such nice colors. I wish they were a tiny bit more pigmented though.

Hi Megan,
That discount would have me drugstore hauling often! And girrrrrl, is every store down the street from your house? J/K!
I haven’t used my pen yet (sigh!). I barely wore any makeup today because I was running late. The next full face I do it’s ON! I usually end up making mascara mistakes, so I hope it works well!

Hi Hana,
It’s pretty, yah? Have you tried it with a base underneath? I’m thinking that since everybody is telling me it’s not very pigmented I’ll use something like MAC Cream Color Base in pearl to bring out the beautiful green shades.

ha. I can so relate to this. Target, Walgreens, and Longs are huge danger zones for me. I love Jordana eyeliners (I use Eggplant) and Walgreens is the only place I can find it. I also like the fact that some of the larger Longs has expanded their selction of skin care products to include Vichy and Avene and some other French and European lines. There’s even a skin care ‘specialist’ who can help you choose the right product for your skin type. I was in Paris a few years back and you can find wonderful mid-to high end skin care products like Darphin in regular pharmacies, so I’m glad to see more of a selection in drugstores. And drugstores ain’t cheap!!

Ha Ha… seriously… it kinda is. I live within walking distance of Rockville Pike. Which is a major thoroughfare and has like a zillion shopping centers. There are really two that I typically walk to in decent weather and CVS is right across the street from one. Really if you are an industrious walker there are so many shops w/in walking distance. To put it in perspective there are 2 malls w/in 5-10 minutes and another 2 within 15…and that doesn’t count all the strip mall shopping areas. I love it…except for during the holiday season. I don’t even want to go outside because traffic turns into a nightmare. Although Rockville isn’t the same as DC, the area is really populated, and it’s in Montgomery County…which is pretty affluent…so there is $$$ to be made… 🙂

ohh i have that makeup corrector pen too! i got it about 3 yrs ago and its still going strong lol. the only thing is that when you try to use it on like the corner of your eye its kinda oily and you have to wipe it with your finger to get the makeup off and you face makeup comes off with it so i have to reapply the face makeup again lol. other than that it works great!
.-= candace’s last blog post… sun dried tomato alfredo penne with chicken, shrimp and mushrooms =-.
