It’s a little funny to me that Dior calls this 5-Colour Designer All-in-One Artistry Palette “Nude Pink Design” ($58), seeing as how there isn’t a lot of pink in its design.
Like the four other quints in the All-in-One Artistry line, Nude Pink Design comes with three powder shadows, a cream liner and a cream base. A little mascara and you’re good to go. 🙂
As for the pink, well, it’s there, hiding within a few of the shades…
- a shimmery taupe eyeshadow
- a shimmery peachy pink eyeshadow
- a sheer, glittery peachy pink eyeshadow
- a shimmery pinkish beige cream base
- a shimmery purplish brown cream liner
You might remember another Dior quint with a similar name. Dior released the Dior 5-Colour Designer All-in-One Artistry Palette in Pink Design (sans the “Nude”) earlier this summer, but if you had trubs with that palette’s cool-toned pink and purple shades, you might have better luck with this one’s warmer palette.
Oh, and if you’re torn between what’s behind Door No. 1 (Pink Design) and Door No. 2 (Nude Pink Design), give some thought to where you might wear the colors. The Pink Design palette feels more like a party quint with its POPS of purple, whereas the Nude-ly named one feels more like an everyday product to me.
I think I’ll get a lot of use out of the colors in Nude Pink, but the price ($58) drives a stake right through my vampire heart (yep, I’m going through True Blood withdrawals).
Dior always delivers, though, when it comes to the quality of their shadows. They apply with lots of pigment, blend easily and never look like makeup cake on the skin. Available at Saks Fifth Avenue and online at saksfifthavenue.com. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: B+/A-
You might like the Dior Nude Pink Design palette if…
- You can swallow the unpalatable $58 price
- You love the way you look in warm peachy pink and taupe
- You like the convenience a quint like this provides
- You’re already a fan of Dior

How was the rest of your Tuesday? So far I’m loving the compressed week… Today flew by in a blur!
I just finished my workout, and now I’m settling down to watch The Godfather: Part II. Whatcha up to tonight?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
Heidi says
Oh, that looks GORGEOUS! I’ve not taken the plunge yet on a Dior palette (that cost is a bit hard to swallow), but the next time some kind friend gives me a Sephora gift certificate….. hmmm….
Karen says
This would be a great quad to add to your wish list. 🙂 Even though it’s quite pricey you could easily work it everyday, especially if you love warm shades.
Jennifer says
I always hear about everyone’s favorite Dior quint being this one or that one, but I never really found one that screamed “love!” to me. But this one is soooo on my list!! That purpley taupe color is killing me.
Karen says
That’s a REALLY GREAT taupe. I can’t always wear taupes but this one was totally wearable. Let me know if you end up getting it!
amy says
Dior quinst are very pretty. I agree that almost $60.00 for a quint of eyeshadows is a lot of money to put up front but breaking it up it costs less than $12.00 per shadow (cheaper than 1 MAC). Unfortunately, being a student again $58 for a palette is way to much for me right now, no matter how the cost is divided. 🙁
Karen says
Good point regarding the cost of the shadows, Amy!
Annabella Freeman says
This looks very soft and feminine but also very grown up. I’d be curious to see what the amber colours look like too.
Karen says
That describes this quint perfectly!
Vanessa H says
The colors are so soft and pretty! I can’t help but get a little sad every time I see a Dior palette; I got one as a gift and dropped it….Dior exploded and my carpet sucked it up :-/
Karen says
What a bummer! 🙁 Which quint was it?
Mela says
Hi!
You have been nominated! 🙂

Karen says
Thanks, Mela! <3
Advah says
Gorgeous, although I think I prefer the Pink one – looks like cool toned colours work better on me after all. But what is it with fall and those pinkish nudish colours??
PS: I hear ya on the True Blood withdrawals. Bring me that season finale already!
Karen says
The Pink Design palette’s fabulous… I especially love the purple liner. Do you think you might get it?
As for TB, thank goodness it got better this season. Now if only the writers would reinstate Tara to her previous @ss kicker status…
Advah says
Oh I’m SO tempted to get that Pink Design. August and the Festival were financially painful, so I might have to be careful this month if I’ve money left at the end of the month I’m definitely getting it!
Actually, I might stop by the counter this weekend just to, you know, look at it, and drool maybe.. 😛
And yes yes, Tara is becoming incredibly annoying and whiny (c’mon, just get over that loser from season 2). I miss the friendship between the two girls and the brother/sister relationship, I thought those were bringing the show together..
Bettina says
You look gorgeous! A question: what are you wearing on you lips?
Karen says
Hi Bettina,
That’s NARS Pure Matte lipstick in Bangkok:

Nina says
That is really gorgeous! 🙂 Want want it!
TB season finale is not til this Sunday whc sux!
Karen says
I’m not ready for that jelly. 🙁 I need at least ten more episodes!
Alexandra Z says
All I can say is that the palette looks amazing and the colors work perfect with your skin color! <3 it!!
xoxo
Karen says
Thanks Alexandra!
How’s your Wednesday going so far? Anything new to report?
Amber says
How’s the staying power of the liner and base in these quints?
Last night we tried a new (to us) restaurant. I had a bacon burger, parmesan rosemary fries, and chocolate cake. I’m wondering if I can talk my husband into going again this week. 😀
Nina says
chocolate cake and burger – yum! where did you nom? ive been craving smashburger for the past 2 wks and been resisting.
Amber says
Hearsay Gastro Lounge. Have you been there?
Nina says
No but I think were gonna go! 😀 The fries and chocolate cake (and burger) sounds nomilicious!
I tried Pollo Bravo today (my brown bag is trapped in the refrigerator in the kitchen which is being retiled) … its pretty good! Its Peruvian Grilled chicken… :X
Amber says
Their kitchen is open late, which I LOVE since we are late eaters. Just FYI the waiter/bartender told us that the weekends are super-busy, starting Thursdays. It’s not a very big place. Last night was great, practically empty and the music was really mellow.
Nina says
I like almost empty restaurants! Were kinda early eaters …. LOL.
Karen says
I am so vicariously living through your meals right now. I’ve been eating salads and soup… it’s been quite depressing.
I haven’t had any issues with the liner or the base when I start with a layer of Urban Decay Eden. Yesterday I found out the liner works great as an eyeshadow base too, btw.
Amber says
If it makes you feel any better, I just had a really boring soup for lunch. I buy three or four of those microwavable soups at a time and stash them in my desk for emergencies. The last time I bought them, I accidentally bought the low-sodium version. They’re terrible!
Karen says
TERRIBLE. I’ve accidentally bought Trader Joe’s low-sodium boxed soups and they taste about as good as pureed boxes. Bluh.
Kim says
Very pretty, and I must say that they look much more pink in your swatches than in the pan. I was examining the veins on my wrists for a few minutes to decide “blue or green?” and then realized I didn’t need to figure it out right now since a Chanel quint is not in my immediate future!
Ah, the Godfather… I love the original and like #2 very much too. 🙂
Karen says
Part II is on a very short list of sequels that I actually like!
Have you ever read the books?
Kim says
I agree – I’m usually VERY disappointed in sequels too. The Empire Strikes Back/ Return of the Jedi are the only others I can think of right now (and honestly, I could have done without the Ewoks). 🙂
I haven’t read the books, but should. Have you read Mockingjay yet? (The 3rd in the Hunger Games series). I’m late in picking that up. I just finished Never Let Me Go, and I don’t understand the gushing reviews. The movie is due out this month (Carey Mulligan and Keira Knightley). I’m interested to see how they adapt it. I feel a bit drowsy just typing about it!
Nina says
I have Never Let Me Go — it was so hard to get into that book! I think I had to force myself to finish it!
Im later than you getting into the Hunger Games. I ordered the books online and they havent gotten here. 😀
Kim says
I felt the same way about Never (and so did my friend who read it first). We said the only thing that kept us going was that annoying “and that’s why what happened next was so surprising”! 🙂
The gals here had said good things about The Hunger Games and I liked that series a lot. I just have to pick up Mockingjay.
If you haven’t read The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo series yet, I recommend that too. The first 50 or so pages of Girl are killer-boring, but once you get through that, it’s worth it. 🙂
Karen says
NO! I’ve been planning on ordering it online… I want to get it along with The Godfather novel. I figure it’s time I read it already!
I’ve never heard of Never Let Me Go Do I need to track it down?!
Kim says
It’s a tough call on Never. I didn’t hate it, but it left me feeling “meh”. On the other hand, it got so many glowing reviews that I kept wondering if there was something wrong with me. The author is Kazuo Ishiguro, who wrote Remains of the Day. It’s very simply written and an easy read, but I didn’t find the characters engaging. And I’m usually the crazy girl on the plane who has to look out the window while either giggling or crying while reading.
Linda says
Pink is the new black 😉
Karen says
Hee! It sure is.
Alice says
Wow it looks absolutely stunning, and lovely on you too. The price puts me off a little, but I find Dior tends to last quite well. Will look forward to seeing this one in the flesh – thank you
Karen says
You’re welcome. I hope that it works for you when you see it in person!
Andreea says
Ohhhhh! Aaaaaah! I Think this is lovely! I might shell my euros out for this quint, this looks really good and I love the liner.
I am not a big fan of DIOR for they are too glittery, but I confess the last palette Misty Mauve was pretty good. This might turn me to Dior e/s again. Love their glosses!
Karen says
ME too! Are you a Creme de Gloss girl?
Principessa Grassa says
Oooooh, I love it! But ain’t no WAY I’m paying $60 for it! Why, Dior, whyyyyy? Sad. Sad and alarming.
Karen says
Unfortch the price is pretty typical for Dior. It might be something to consider if you get a gift certificate, maybe?
Anna says
This is really gorgeous 🙂 I love the look…
Unfortunately Dior is a bit too expensive for me as a student to buy.. but maybe Santa Claus or someone is nice to me this year.. who knows 😉
Tonight me and my fiancé have to clean… our apartment looks like a bomb exploded (or a hurricane flew by) 😀
take care hun
xx
Karen says
Oh gosh, so does my living room! I’ve got piles of crap everywhere. Have fun cleaning…
snoopysteph says
Ooh I love this quint! I will have to add it to my wish list for sure. 🙂 It definitely seems very wearable for every day and I love how easy Dior shadows are to apply & blend. Thanks for the review Karen!
On a side note…today is my 3 year old’s first day of preschool…and even though he’s only there for 1.5 hours I feel the need to lurk by the front doors of the school and wait for him. :/ I’m hoping today is harder for me than him!
Karen says
You’re welcome, Steph! I hope this works out for you when you try it in person. 🙂
And awww… today is a big day for your little one! Is he excited?
Sherri says
I think I’m in love with these palettes but they are so expensive. Very pretty colors.
Karen says
That’s Dior for ya, sigh.
Lisa S. says
Wow Karen! These more peachy colors look awesome on you! I really liked the Pink palette, but really this one would be more practical for the price. I really, really want to break down and buy one of these Dior palettes. I keep making the motions, but then I see 58 smackers and I become paralyzed! I think I could make myself do this one though……
Karen says
I hear ya. Ask yourself this: could you wear this palette every day? If you can easily see yourself reaching for this often, then it might be worth the splurge! 🙂
Khalia@GlamourandLove says
Pretty in pink. I like! 🙂
Karen says
Yay! 🙂 Glad you like it.
Calie says
Hey I love the pink nude palette. It’s absolutely gorgeous and wearable. Can you name any good dupes in place of this pricey palettte?
Karen says
Hi Calie,
I can’t think of one with the same base and cream liner, but maybe Cargo Baja? Or the Sephora Almost Nude Colorful Palette?
marisol says
That’s a pretty palette but I can’t justify buying it.
Sunday will be bittersweet. I can’t wait to see what will happen but at the same time the show will be over until next summer. What are some of the shows that you are looking forward to with the fall season?
Karen says
It will! I’ll miss the TB gang… I’ll even miss Tara crying in every other episode.
As for shows, I’m looking forward to Modern Family and Law & Order: SVU.
How ’bout you?
marisol says
Modern Family, Bones, The Good Wife & Glee. Oh yeah and also the Vampire Diaries. I get my vamp fix with that show. Hello Ian Somerhalder…rawr!
Karen says
So I tried to watch Vampire Diaries and I just couldn’t get into it! Does it get better after a certain point?
valentinasugar says
Hi,
I was wondering which of the palettes is warmer Amber Design or this Pink Design. What do you think is the difference between the two and which one would you recommend for someone with warmer color. THANKS!!
Amee says
the palette is awesome…all the shades are very pretty.. n u lookin fab…
