Okay, ladies (and gents). Here’s the first of several upcoming posts featuring MAC Holiday 2007. Are you ready for this jelly?
The two-minute skinny on MAC’s Curiositease Limited Edition lip collections for Holiday 2007:
If you’re looking to *ahem* economize, then skip the Plushglass set. The Plushglasses are lip plumpers, which means tingly, which means OUCH! I don’t wear plumpers because I haven’t got time for the pain, and I haven’t got room for the pain. Plus, the Plushglasses are much more sheer than the Lipglasses and Lustreglasses, and it takes more work to get a good pop of color.
If given the choice of only one set I’d go with the 5 Warm over the 5 Cool Lipglass and Lustreglass set. The warm colors are easier to wear by themselves, and both the Lipglasses and Lustreglass formulations have fab color payoff. (Plus, they don’t sting my lips like bees, oy!) The only difference between the two is that the Lustreglasses feel slightly thinner to me and have a brush, not a doe foot applicator. I especially hearted Bada Boom and Pink Grapefruit in this set! Trust me. Your lips will heart them too.
Each is $29.50 USD and they drop on November 15th. Mark your calendars!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Plushglass is just too sheer for me. Plus, my lips are plump enough, so I don’t need any help!
Abi says

Abi says

Julie says
Ohhh they are all so pretty. I think plush lux is my favorite!
Glosslizard says
Dang, those are some hot lips! I wasn’t even thinking about the glosses in the collection, but now…..
nilla cookie says
ALL beautiful! Bountiful is right up my alley and they look like sparkly diamonds! But I might have to stay away because I have so many in that pinky-nude color.
Hmm.. which one will go best w/ my orange bridesmaid dress? I’m diggin’ Pretty Plush or maybe Wet n Wild if I want to do a darker fall look – what do you recommend? 🙂
Can’t wait to see the rest of the pics!
Vanessa says
OOooh! these are not out yet are they??? tell me your secret! lol jk..
Christine says
Your poor lips! I always found mine got swollen up after swatching.
Karen says
OMG i’m exhausted. i’ve been working on this all day. the things i do for this blog!
somebody pour me a beer, yo!
Jane says
The warm set for Lipglass looks gorgeous, but I’ve had enough of lipglass already (really prefer lipstick). I’m excited about the pigments though. I LOVE pigments!
Have a nice weekend Karen. 🙂
Adina says
Wow- I don’t think I’m ready for that jelly! Ha
Loving the mac holiday sets this year! Thanks for the post- you rock!
Christine says
Lustreglass is a sheerer, less sticky formulation from the lipglass. I know people tend to gravitate towards lustreglass because the lack of tackiness, at least relative to lipglass!
OMG, I put DuWop Moon Venom on my lips last night, GOD IT KEPT STINGING.
Lipglossme says
Pretty, pretty, pretty!
Karen says
Hi Abi,
Thanks for the Jordana rec! I will definitely look into that. I hope I can find it at my local drugstore…you have a good day too, okay? 🙂
P.S. The Plushglass set it $29.50 for five colors!
Karen says
Hey hey hey Miss Julie. Plus luxe is purty…just be prepared for some tingly lips!
Karen says
Glosslizard! Question for you – do you wear makeup to when you go to dojo? I know that’s kinda random, but hey. I wear makeup to the gym! I can’t be the only one who’ll fess up!
Karen says
Hi Lilan,
Hmmm, I’d probably go with a longer wearing gloss like Lipglass. You want your gloss to stay fresh throughout the event!
You know the best part about your outfit? The dyed to match shoes. When will you ever wear those again?!
Karen says
Hey Miss Vanessa,
You know how it is. Sometimes Santa visits a lil’ early! 😉
Karen says
Christine, I’d probably JUST DIE from DuWop then. I’ve heard that stuff is no joke.
Karen says
Thanks Jane! You do the same!
PS. I’m not so much of a pigment girl (I know, I know!). I’ve been trying to experiment with them more but I think I’m just too messy and clumsy, oops!
Karen says
You are very welcome, Adina! There’s more to come (YES!) so stay tuned. Happy Friday!
nilla cookie says
Oh Karen, you should have seen me when I picked up my dyed-to-match shoes at the store. I must have made a funny face because all the sales lady said to me was, “You can dye it black after the wedding, Honey..” LOL
Hope you’re having a great Friday!
Karen says
Ha ha ha! And nobody can blame you.
There’s a special circle of hell of dyed to match shoes. Oh, and for HIGH WAISTED PANTS FROM THE 80S.
Glosslizard says
Hee hee! It’s funny you should ask… I so practice my “non-made-up make-up” for the dojo! I use Stila lip plumping glaze (it’s minty-tingly, not painful) which is sheer with a colored sparkle so I get a nice rosy lip but don’t get pink smears on anyone’s gi — ’cause I’m courteous like that! 😉 I also try out all my best non-smearing mascaras (so far Max Factor Lash Perfection and, believe it or not, Diorshow lead the pack). I usually don’t do anything else except maybe a luminizer under the eyes. What me? Vain? Naawww!
