Follow your bliss…
According to the saying you should always “follow your bliss.” I wholeheartedly agree, especially when it comes to yummy smelling lotions and cute stocking stuffers.
Time and time again I’ve blabbered on about my obsession for bliss lemon & sage body butter. I love it so much that I always give a few tubes of it as gifts come Christmastime. This year, however, I’ll be stuffing les stockings with the new love of my lotion life, bliss snow wonder body butter.
Snow wonder sinks easily into my skin, leaves my skin feeling soft and moisturized and the handy dandy tube is huge. The best part, though, is the smell! It’s really light, clean, feminine and a touch powdery. Infused with the scent of just-fallen snowflakes, snow wonder also has an uber-dose of good-for-your-skin antioxidant arctic berries, along with vitamins A and E and sodium hyaluronate. Give one tube to your best gal pal at work, and keep one for yourself! $35.00 for a 8.5 oz tube
Have you found your V Spot?
Oh you dirty birdy! Get your mind out of the gutter. Your V Spot consists of your neck area and your décolleté, sections that are often overlooked in skin care.
Bliss has got your turkey neck covered, gobble-gobble (totally kidding!), with thinny thin chin, a light lotion designed to improve the appearance of neck lines and cleavage creases.
I’m really picky about what I put on my neck because I can’t stand that area feeling sticky or icky. Thinny thin chin doesn’t leave a gross film like some moisturizers do, has a delicious citrus smell and is super moisturizing. I’ve been putting a thin layer on my neck and décolleté area morning and night for the past few weeks, and I’m loving it. Pick up a bottle for your homegirl who you take bikini and jean shopping with you. $48 for a 50 ml bottle.
What the hell am I staring at?
These, my friend, are my crazy bliss jingle bell socks. I put them on the other day as I lay on my couch, completely paralyzed for three hours by “Legally Blonde,” the musical. These bad boys contain a jelly-esque film that envelopes your tootsies in a moisturizing matrix of sole-softening goodness. The feeling of slipping these on is kind of like dating the weird, yet strangely hot nerd in your physics class; foreign, yet still very cool at the same time.
When I first put them on they feel cold and kind of rubbery, as if my feet are returning to the womb. But after a while my feet start feeling good. One pair of socks gives you 50 sessions of foot relaxation heaven. My mom is going to get a pair, because she’s always running around from makeup counter to makeup counter buying my presents come Christmastine (HEY MOM – CHANEL!). $48.00 for one pair.
Blah, it’s so wet and dreary here today! I guess it’s official, summer is truly gone, and fall, like I LOVE NY2, is now in the mother effing house.
Speaking of I LOVE NY2, I’m banking on “It” getting the boot today. And you better be on TEAM MIDGET MAC, girlfriend!
Enjoy this rainy Monday…if we worked together I’d totally take a tea break with ya this afternoon!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I don’t think I could bring myself to spend $48 on a pair of socks!
But at least they look super cute!
Karen says
But they moisturize! Are you in class? I just ate another slice of carrot cake and I think I’m going to be ill.
Melissa Street/Epic Make-Up says
Hey Karen,
I will be up in San Fran this weekend (well, actually Novato) — since you are one of my favorite bloggers — wanna meet for a cup o joe?? We can talk MAC and other products!!! Reach me at my website http://www.EpicMakeUp.com and go to contacts to reach me personally.

Ooh, I loves me some Bliss! I adore the Vanilla Bergamot body butter, and I’m going to try the Snow Wonder now! I haven’t tried the socks either, but I have the gloves and my dry, decrepit little mummy-hands love them!
Karen says
Hey Melissa! Will do, girlfriend!
Karen says
Glosslizard! Yah, I think the socks have the same moisturizing innards as the gloves…btw, I hope you fall in love with the Snow Wonder lotion. I just put some on my hands and I keep sniffing them! Yum!
Christine says
But they’re $48! Holy crap!
I’m in class now, but before I was at home. Why so ill? Carrot cake is no good, or too sweet? Or too much? 😉
Karen says
Oh god, I think just too much. It was the last of the slice I bought from Safeway the other night..I was practically licking the frosting out of the plastic box like a rabid dog, so good. But now I am paying for the rapid amount of sugar in such a short amount of time.
I was at the Cheesecake Factory the other day and I took a good look at the carrot cake there and you are right, it looks DRY! Blech!
Christine says
Oh, good, too much. Because Safeway’s is tasty!
It was so disappointing – you’d just think it’d be yummy there.
Vanessa says
I love fall/winter, good excuse to buy comfy things, like slipper socks too!
As for your question last week, sorry for the delay I was too busy preparing for the early release of antiquitease! I put about 2 layers of Masque lipstick, it’s gorgeous! (can you tell that’s my favorite word??!!!)

OMG – I’ve been kinda obsessed with the wrinkles that are starting to form on my neck (ugh!) so I started using some cream on my neck and V spot. I was in a panic after spotting the wrinkles so I got some Loreal Revitalift Night cream at Target but I’m not loving it. It’s heavy and kinda greasy; I feel like I’ve been sweating when I wake up in the morning – not sexy 🙁
I’m going to try and find another low-end brand and pray that I’ve found a winner before I bite the bullet and shell out $48 😉
Karen says
How do you feel about cheesecake? Their pumpkin cheesecake is really good, I had it a few weeks ago with my parents. YUM!
Karen says
No worries, Vanessa! Have fun in NY, woo hoo!
Christine says
They can do cheesecake! I really like their caramel apple something rather cheesecake. Tasted really good!
Karen says
Hi Lilan,
Aren’t those neck wrinkles SCARY? It’s like I looked one morning and *BAM*, there they were in all of their glory.
Heavy and greasy, nooooo. Have you thought about trying a Serum? L’Oreal got’s their Skin Genesis line (it’s an Allure beauty winner)…
I’ve also used Olay Regenerist Micro Sculpting cream and I like it, too. It’s on the pricy end of drugstore skincare – $24, if I recall. It has a nice dry finish and doesn’t feel greasy at all.
Karen says
I haven’t tried that one yet, now it’s next on the list. I’ve had Dulce de leche, Godiva Chocolate, pumpkin, key lime pie…as you can tell, I like my sweets!
Jane says
Moisturizing socks! Damn, now do I wish they sold that kind of stuff in the beauty counters here. My feet are sorely needing TLC which Cetaphil lotion can’t seem to give. LOL
The neck lotion is also interesting… As with the rest of my body, I’m using Cetaphil on my neck and it’s been pretty well but I’d like to try other stuff too 😀
nilla cookie says
hmmm.. I think I’ll try both Loreal and Olay. ANYTHING to get rid of those wrinkles, I’m too young dammit! AND I’m Asian! LOL.. okay, I guess that doesn’t make me invincible 😉
Thanks for the product suggestions, Karen, I’ll let you know how it goes 😀
Christine says
Sweets are the best! BTW, is the Thinny Thin Chin working to reduce lines/sag/aging on the neck thus far?
And am I jumping the gun on this? I feel like I need to rack up the anti-aging products.
J-Money says
I love Bliss! I’ve been using their eye makeup remover and I’m loving it. I don’t know if you’ve tried it, but it works well for me. Regarding wrinkles, my neck isn’t the problem anymore. I looked at myself in the mirror, smiled and BAM!!! wrinkles under my eyes! I was horrified! I’ll be damned if I have wedding pictures with these wrinkles under my eyes! HELL TO THE NAH!! Do you have any suggestions on eye creams!?
Karen says
Hey Jane,
Cetaphil is a great workhorse moisturizer but I find it too heavy on my neck. Plus, I dunno how much it does in the anti-aging department.
I still think the best form of antiaging is copious amounts of sunscreen. I’m really good about putting it on my face but not my neck, and now I think it’s starting to show.
Karen says
You’re welcome Nilla Cookie! I hope you find something that works for ya…and if you find a good serum please share with the class!
Karen says
Truthfully, I can’t really tell. I should probably do time lapse photography or construct a science experiment to determine if the lines are going away. I do like how moisturizing it is, though.
Best thing to do is to start putting sunscreen on your neck NOW!
Karen says
J-Mo’, I haven’t tried their makeup remover but I’m always on the hunt to replace my dumbass Sephora FACE remover (BOO!) so I’ll put that on my list of things to try. Do you have to rinse it off afterwards? Or can you just remove and then go to bed?
Maybe we’ll go to the bliss spa for some super-early pre-bridal festivities!
And girlfriend, you’ll need something really moisturizing for your eyes. Remember the H2O+ moisturizer we got last year at fashion week? I bought a full jar ’cause it rocks…
