When I went to England a few years ago I was really surprised to find that Garnier made skin products for both the face and body. I bought a bottle of Garnier lotion and it was seriously the closest I’ve ever come to reaching body lotion nirvana … and I’ve used a lot of lotion in the course of 32 years, ladies and gents. I eagerly await the day when they roll out their body care line in the US, but until then we all have to be satisfied with their skin care line, which was released a few months ago.
Garnier has a full skin care line which includes cleansers, moisturizers and treatments. I decided to start small, and picked up a packet of Garnier Nutritioniste Nutri-Pure Detoxifying Wet Cleansing Towelettes.
I brought these along with me when I visited Hawaii. The package is small and very travel-friendly, unlike some other cleansing cloth packages, which are large and bulky.
What I liked about it
I’m big on smell, and this product has a fantastic green tea scent. If you’re scent-sitive (sorry, the pun was too good to resist!) then you might find it overwhelming, but I like it. The individual cloths seem small but are enough to remove a full face of makeup and mascara, however, if you’re wearing heavy stage makeup or waterproof mascara you will probably need at least two pieces to get a thorough cleansing. They are also very soft, and didn’t leave my skin feeling tight.
What I didn’t like about it
Although I liked the compact packaging, the stupid sticker that was supposed to keep the packet closed kept opening up. It was okay for about a week, but from that point on I couldn’t get it to close fully. This contributed to some dry out.
I also found that the cloths leave a slight film on my skin. It didn’t bother my face, but when I used it on my neck, arms and pits for a quick mini-shower I didn’t really feel clean. I had to rinse off with water afterwards, which sort of defeats the purpose of having handy cleansing wipes.
The bottom line
If you like green tea scented products you’ll love this stuff, and if you can get it on sale then it’s worth a go. For me, it’s just an okay performer in the cleaning wipe arena, and not a holy-grail product.
I’ve been having some car drama lately so yesterday The Hub and I took my car to the shop to get it tuned up and fixed and I was happy to find out that we won’t have to spend loads of $$$ to keep it running and thus won’t have to sell it anytime soon. This is a HUGE relief because selling it would’ve just been yet another thing on the endless list of things to do. And I also be one sad Karen if I didn’t have wheels to take me to SEPHORA!
I have to dig into my closet to find some sweaters because it’s overcast and cold here, bah. Wherever you are, soak up some sun for me, will ya?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I have used this before. It was cool. Mac’s wipes have that wonderful sturdy plastic lid. Ponds and GN need to take a page from MAC.

I need to break down and try the MAC ones. I just don’t like having to spend the $ when I know I can get a big box of baby wipes. I’ve heard that they are excellent, though!

You know I get mine from the CCO. When I divided up the cost, it was similar to buying 3 of Garnier or Pond’s.
