Believe it or not, I do NOT own a bejeweled pimp cup.
Shocker, I know. 🙂
But if I did, I would raise it high and proudly to Paul & Joe for giving us 20 years of cat lady cosmetics catnip.
That’s 20 years of CCL domination, y’all!
To celebrate this meow-worthy occasion, the purveyors of kitty makeup purr-fection curated the Paul & Joe Beaute Makeup Collection A (a $100 set).
It’s a limited edition box containing their bestselling makeup products…but I’m most excited about the tote it comes with because it FOLDS INTO A CAT HEAD.
I mean, I JUST CAN’T EVEN. WITH THE EARS!?
It’s big, too, and has more than enough room for all kinds of cat lady shinanigans and those tubes of Paul & Joe lipstick with the cat heads that you just can’t bear to use because they’re so darned cute.
Oh, and yeah, there’s also makeup in the collection, like a powder blush (a light coral pink with a silver sheen), a cream lipstick (a creamy, semi-sheer pink) and a pressed powder compact (a light beige powder and a shimmery beige highlighter).
Everything is full size and, because we’re talking about Paul & Joe here, adorable.
But are they, ya know, good?
Yes, I think so. Pretty good. Keep in mind, though, that Paul & Joe is geared toward the casual makeup enthusiast — at least that’s always been my perception — so if you’re a stickler for the finer technical aspects of professional makeup performance, then these products might not live up to those expectations.
Take the blush, for instance. I like how sheer and natural it looks on my cheeks, especially in natural light and in pics, but when I wear it and see myself in flourescent lighting, I think my pores look kinda big… Perhaps due to the sheen (it could be a touch finer), but then again, I could also just chill-the-eff out. 🙂 Like, if I didn’t know anything about blush, I’d probably just think it looked pretty and I’d like it.
Same goes for the lipstick. It’s a flattering color and feels smooth and comfy, and I like how I can just ba-boomp-ba-boomp it on without any drama, but some might have issues with the fact that it isn’t completely opaque (although I like that it’s sheer).
So, yeah. If you’re hawd koa and you never leave the house without contouring the back of your neck (OMG, yes this is a totally thing; I saw it on Instagram!), baking and strobing, you could probably invest those same 100 tacos into something else and be happier.
But if you go ga-ga over things like cute cat totes and just want fun products to use in your minimalist makeup routine, these would be SO MUCH fun.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

This brand’s packaging is very fun and whimsical. I remember they came out with cute cat lipsticks a while back. I pull them out once in a while just to admire the artwork. lol

Yes, the cat lipsticks are the cutest!

That tote is gorg. And surprisingly big. I could totally see myself running through the airport with it as I’m headed out to grab a cab & enjoy some summer fun on at the beach. It’s prolly way too pretty to carry on the beach. Unless of course you’re like me & you like a cute cami & a wide brim beach hat (a la Jackie Kennedy Onasis), a fuschia lippie, & cute sunnies to walk up & down the beach. Looking cute, obvs ?
Karen says
It’s massive… AND IT FOLDS INTO THE SHAPE OF A CAT HEAD!
What I would give for a long day at beach, preferably one with warm water and no wind. The ones here in Nor Cal are usually windy and the water is cold.
If I win the lottery this week I’m taking us to Hawaii! Keep your bags packed.

So cute! Love how it folds into a kittycat.

DEAL! I live in a beach town & I’m just now starting to enjoy the beach. Took one of my besties & her four kids to the beach last weekend. It was awesome. Water was cool but perfect because it was so hot & there was a nice breeze. I’ve never been to Hawaii but I’ve always wanted to. I’ll keep my bags packed. Bring the “kitty tote” to carry some of our beach gear! ☺️

The level of crazy cat lady P&J put out is always hilarious.

I’ve never tried any Paul & Joe cosmetics. OMGosh!! That tote bag is to die for. I love the way it folds up into a cat’s head. Was it hard to refold it into that shape? Still, I think I’m gonna save my yens for some SUQQU or maybe some Tom Ford. I did splurge on the Dior quints after all, so now I have to be good…at least for a short while. 😉

T’aaaaaaaaaaaaah, I want it all 😀 Everything looks so damn adorable! Love your look at the end also, you look beautiful.

I feel like knowing more about more about makeup spoils us for all the pretty things out there that are just that, pretty. We always want the perfect blush/bronze/powder.

Total squeal on the adorable tote. Paul and Joe never disappoint with the cute factor, that’s for sure. I do like their kind of casual vibe, though I haven’t tried any of their products. And definitely don’t need larger looking pores! Speaking of, I got the skincare sample pack from Sephora and thought that Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser was a miracle pore eraser. I’m still hemming and hawing about the price tag for the full sized, though. As I check my pores every hour. 🙂 Have you tried it?
