Pacifica’s California Star Jasmine Body Butter ($18), the newest addition to the company’s line of fragrant moisturizers, makes me want to drop everything right now and drive down to Santa Cruz for dinner.
A warm mix of jasmine and orange set to a base of musky driftwood, the scent reminds me of leisurely walks along the Beach Boardwalk at night, and it feels cozier than the other Pacifica Body Butters I’ve been wearing lately (Brazilian Mango Grapefruit, Hawaiian Ruby Guava and Malibu Lemon Blossom).
If I leave the house now, I could be cycling through the seaside town in my knit sweater, shorts and flip flops before dusk, a cool summer breeze blowing through my hair…
The bright packaging even looks like the design on one of my favorite surf T’s. 🙂 I’ve kept the tube on my desk all weekend long, applying the lotion frequently to my hands whenever I’ve needed a quick boost, ala “Calgon take me away!”
Like Pacifica’s other products, it’s a little pricey, but if you’re fond of comfy white florals and beachy scents, I think it’s well worth checking out. Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating: A-

I’m obsessed with this one. I actually made excuses to check a bag on my last weekend trip so I could take the whole tube with me. And then I figured since I was already checking a bag, might as well take along the Tahitian Gardenia too!
Karen says
You’re so lucky the Tahitian Gardenia works on you! I love the scent on other people, just not on me ’cause (it smells like parsley).
Kristen says
Parsley! Oh dear. My personal hell would be cilantro, but parsley body butter sounds rather heinous.

That seems like it would be awesome <333

It smells really good! Hopefully they’ll have it at your Sephora soon so you can sniff it.

Wow! Jasmine and Orange sounds really nice 🙂 I tried sniffing the blood orange one at Sephora and that seemed awesome too!! Am wondering which one should I get ? 🙂
Karen says
It depends on what you want. If you want something warmer and cozier, maybe go for the Jasmine. The Blood Orange scent is brighter and more invigorating.

I forgot to smell this at Nugget when I was there today! I even spent time at the Pacifica section, and ended up buying a bar of soap in the rose scent. I also smelled the Love & Toast stuff, and ended up getting a rollerball of the Persimmon Plum scent. It’s nice, doesn’t last too long though.

Nugget market! Now that’s a name I haven’t heard in a long time!
BTW, we ended up stopping by Davis on our way back home from Reno. I had a paella burrito at Dos and thought of you.
The town has TOTALLY changed. I usually navigate via land marks and I barely recognized any of it all.

Great! I hope you like it.

Hmmm I love how warm and floral this sounds. I have been wearing their Tahitian Gardenia perfume and body butter but it is a cooler and greener scent.

The packaging is awesome, love those bright stripes!!!
