P.S. I love you…P.S. I Like You.
OK, that wasn’t confusing or anything! 🙂
I keep wanting to call this new Casual Colour cream blush by a different name. Officially, it’s called P.S. I Like You, but, well, I love it.
I really, REALLY love it, and its epic 8-hour wear time is just the icing on the cake/tip of the tabby’s tail/start of the DJ’s set.
So I’m gonna start calling it P.S. I Love You instead.
DJ says what now…?
Yeah, this one is from MAC’s new collaboration with DJ Mia Moretti, who, I just learned (I think I read it in this month’s Glamour…or was it Allure?) was the inspiration for Katy Perry’s song, International Smile (you learn something new every day!).
Anywho, that’s one of my favorite Katy Perry songs.
The epic wear time is just the beginning, too, for this lovely carnation pink blush. It’s also smoother than John Legend’s voice. I don’t notice any problems with patchiness on my cheeks, not even on the dry areas, and it’s very kind to my pores. I barely have to do any blending at all.
And don’t even get me started on the finish.
The finish!
It’s dewy and glossy at the same time (and stays that way all day long), but not to the “point of no return chicken grease” shiny. I feel like it makes my cheeks look glowing and healthy and all that good stuff.
I know that spring has barely sprung, but I’m already thinking about my summer makeup bag (and spending lazy days next to the pool). This will definitely have a place in it.
I like to wear it on bare skin, or layer it on top of a sheer foundation, tinted moisturizer or BB cream.
Because it’s quite pigmented and bright, a tiny dab should do ya.
This pretty carnation leans warm, and I think it looks grrreat with a tan. Just swipe a little on your cheeks and lips (yup, you can also use it on your lips!), and then go crazy with summery colors on your eyes (only if you want to; I’m just saying) — like gold, khaki, teal, coral and bronze.
I know that some cream formulas can be a little intimidating, especially if you’re new to makeup, but seriously, there’s a trick to working with them, and most of the time, I think they’re easier to use than powders, because they take a lot less effort to blend.
I’ll usually apply this and other cream blushes right after foundation, while my foundation’s still wet and hasn’t fully dried down, because if I wait until the foundation fully sets, the blush will disrupt whatever I happen to be wearing under it.
I think cream blushes also apply more smoothly and less patchy after foundation. I’ll usually use a big fluffy kabuki brush to lightly stipple and blend the color, while trying to avoid big sweeping motions that would push other layered products around. I also try to keep my hands away from my cheeks.

I have to admit I’m afraid of cream blush. 🙁 Yes I’m one of those people who are deathly afraid of this pretty blush!
Karen says
Don’t be! It’s easy to apply and it looks natural if you know how to work it. 🙂
Sylvia says
I always have problems with cream blush (especially ones that don’t dry down to a powder) but this one is looking very enticing.
Karen says
Give it a go! It’s easy to work with.

Totally afraid of cream blushes. So much so that I have one from NYX that I’ve never worn. And I’ve probably had it for almost 2 years. Color me chicken. Pretty sure that if I bought this, it’d sit on my makeshift vanity as eye candy 🙂
Karen says
There is no need to fear, my friend! Cream blushes are your friend!

“P.S. I love you” is the title of a very cheesy book I read years ago. Total waste of time, so I´ll stick with P.S: I like you instead. A lovable color none the less!
Agata says
I remember that book!

This is super-pretty on you and definitely has a happy, spring/summer feel to it. 🙂 The wear time is impressive since cream blushes (and Becca Beach Tints) usually wander off after just a couple of hours on my cheeks. Then again, I normally think to wear them in the summer when it’s extra humid. Weird!
Karen says
That’s not weird at all! I like the idea of a creamy blush rather than powder blush on really fresh skin.
Have you ever tried the liquid Benefit Blushes? You might like them!
Kiss & Make-up says
Loooooooooooooove it! (read that in a very high-pitched kinda singing voice)

Hey Karen, can you tell me what eye shadow palette that is in the background? I am in love with those colors… I might need to own it… 🙂

Got mine from the mail today… I have to admit a little but dissapointed because it’s smaller than the regular cream blushes and then panic what if I trully like it!?! There’s a warm sensation within urging me to hoard it!!! It’s a limited edition (bummer!). Can’t wait to try it tomorrow. Here’s to me and the blush… P.S I like
You may you still be available in case I fall in love with you… Because with Karen and the pot it looks ohhh so promising!
