Remember that glorious Goody $5 tortoiseshell headband I gushed about a while back? — almost as good as stretchy pants, for real. Well, while cruising Targhay over the weekend (allegedly, I was there to get grapes and dental floss), I found it in black! 🙂
One word (in all caps, spelled phonetically for emphasis): YAY!
I still have mad love for the tortoiseshell one, but black is just so versatile, I couldn’t resist. I’ll be able to wear it with outfits like my black ’80s off-the-shoulder T-shirt (complete with giant Mr. T chain necklace).
This one totally hits the spot, and it’s just as soft, flexible and comfortable (doesn’t squeeze the living daylights out of my noggin) as the other one. Same thing except it’s black.
It’s too bad that these and the rest of the Goody Statements line aren’t carried at a wider variety of stores. I love Target, but Goody’s gotta get these out there because I reckon they’d fly off the shelves.
PRICE: $5
AVAILABILITY: Available now exclusively at Target stores

If skinny jeans can make a comeback…
Can the saxophone make one, too?
Funny, but within 10 minutes of turning on the radio this morning, I’d already heard two different pop songs with saxophone solos. If you grew up in the ’80s like I did, then you probably remember the preponderance of pop songs with sax solos in them. They were everywhere for a while, saxophones, until all of a sudden — POOF! No more sax.
I have a theory that it had something to do with Kenny G…
Welcome to my childhood!
Mark my words — the saxophone is staging a comeback. It’s only a matter of time!
Sax solos, I don’t mind, but Z. Cavaricci pants? — let’s keep those where they belong (in the past). 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

I’m all about a sax solo. I used to play so I wouldn’t mind breaking it out again 😉
I also love this: “allegedly, I was there to get grapes and dental floss”. That’s how all of my trips at Target start. “Oh, I’m here for mouthwash and shampoo.” An hour and $60 later…
Karen says
Really? This makes sense to me. I can totally see you as an alto sax kind of girl. How long did you play?
Basically you’ve described every single trip I’ve ever made to Target. I actually have to swing by during my lunch break for sandwich bags and bread. LOL… yeah right!
Elle says
I played for about four years in grade school. I was the only girl sax player (and a big nerd – still am) so the name Lisa Simpson got tossed around in my direction. A lot. 🙂
Sooooo which 20 items did you get from Target??
E.D. says
I need to get up to the Target ASAP. I wanted the tortoiseshell one, but it’s never in stock. I *NEED* this one.
Karen says
Ya know, I’m not surprised that the tortoiseshell one is always out of stock, because it is a KICK ASS headband!
I really hope that you can get your paws on this one.

Im definitely stopping at Target on my way home tonight.
I LOVE the look of headbands but cant wear them because they give me severe headaches!! This looks like it would be super comfortable.
Karen says
Me too. The stiff ones always start off comfy but then after a few hours I can’t stand to have them on my head.
Did you ever pick up the tortoiseshell one?
Bekah says
Nope, not yet, I’ve never seen them until this post! I fully plan on picking up every single color they have at Target though.
Just like you, I tend to spend more money than expected. I went last week to return clothing and thought it was ok to spend the money I got back (aka two times more) on makeup. I swear, once I get there I just black out and walk out with bags and bags of stuff!! haha.
dani@callitbeauty says
ugh! i was in seattle this past weekend but didn’t have enough time to go to Target! i totally would’ve picked up one of these, too! woe is meee =(.
Cassy says
You don’t have to hide your “off the list” purchase, you’re still doing better than me. I went to Walmart for shampoo and walked out with a Nintendo Wii (and forgot the shampoo to boot) I wish there was a such thing as a shampoo store. Nothing but shampoo. Not even a conditioner. Then I couldn’t get distracted.

If you like the sax, I feel like you might like this 🙂 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GaoLU6zKaws

the heat is on!!!!
youre right, the black headwrap is a must have too!

I love the look of this headband. It sounds perfect! Unfortunately Goody is becoming increasingly hard to find in my area. It’s very frustrating.
Erin says
I always want to wear head band like this but they never stay put on my head. They always end up up towards my pony tail and then just fall off as they move too much. I get a headache too from trying to scrunch my head to keep them from moving. I always see people out at the gym with them and envy how they can wear theirs with ease and I have to use bobby pins to keep mine in place. This is cute too, wish my head would keep it on. 🙁
Heather says
I have this exact same issue – as much as I want to wear them, these wrap-around headbands just do not stay put on me, always sliding to the back of my head. I’m stuck with the noggin-squeezers 🙁

If Z Cavaricci’s can’t make a comeback.. does that mean I have to return the Gloria Vandebilt jeans I inherited from my aunt???
Amanda says
Ever since you posted about the tortoiseshell one, I’ve been stalking the shelves at my Target. Nothing! They don’t seem to have anything in the line at all. They’ve got Goody hair elastics, that’s it. Total bummer.
Chris25 says
My fave sax-infused pop song is “Baker Street” by Gerry Rafferty. According to Wikipedia, saxophonist Raphael Ravenscroft suggested playing the sax during the breaks between the verses. This led to “The Baker Street phenomenon”- popularizing the use of the sax in mainstream pop music.
To get back to the headband, I totally love this and I hope to get myself to Target sometime soon.
Kajal Couture says
I looked in so many Targets and couldn’t find the tortoise headband anywhere!!! Urgh now I want this one too and won’t be able to find this either. Sigh.
Markina says
There is a saxophone solo in Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night”
Vijaya says
I’ll definitely give this a look. I’m such a headband girl!
Kayla K says
Karen!! This is totally unrelated (and I’m totally psyched for you to find yet another fabulous headband) but I just had to share with you… I adopted two baby kitties today! I get to bring them home on Thursday, after they get fixed at the humane society :]
BooBooNinja says
I must make a trip to the States this summer!

Hey Karen, I saw something similar to the tortoiseshell one at a Japanese $2 store called Daiso here in Singapore. I didn’t pick it up then but I’ll definitely head there when I can to get it. One thing though, do these Goody ones have teeth on the innerside?
voodoogirl says
the headwrap is cool but that keyboard is HOT! i want one!
kiwikiwidragon says
I picked up a Goody one from cvs that has loops and a scarf wound through it. Scarf is removable or you can use it on its own. I have a big head so I may need to make an adjustment to it because all headbands squeeze my head, no matter what. hopefully this one is better.

The saxophone comeback IS happening!! LOL Listen to Last Friday Night by Katy Perry!!

Found these at my Target on clearance for 3.84! Remembering this post, I of course bought the last black and tortoise shell ones they had. You were right – they are super comfy, and I think they will stay put without sliding around much.
Ellen says
Ahaha, Z. Cavaricci pants! I have a pair of Z. Cavaricci khaki shorts that my sister used to wear. They are kind of dorky, and have huge pockets, but they look normal when I wear a flowy top or t-shirt over them.
But we like to randomly say “Z. Cavaricci!” every now and then. It’s just ridiculous and funny-sounding.
