Summer just isn’t summer for me without my bottle of Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse OR ($67) dry oil spray.
For years I’ve used this moisturizing dry oil spray to make my arms, shoulders and legs shimmer and glow.
Not only do I love the way it smells — like almonds and honey — but the ultra fine golden flecks never rub off on my clothes. That, and the oil never leaves my skin feeling slick or greasy.
It’s one of my favorite ways to accessorize a strapless dress (or anything else that shows some skin).
This summer, to commemorate the product’s tenth anniversary, Nuxe doubled the size of the regular 50-ml bottles to 100 and — get ready to be blinded with science — added a spray pump, LOL!
It normally comes with a plastic stopper, the kind with a small hole to dispense the product.
The stopper works fine but takes more effort to use…
How lazy am I? 🙂
First I’d have to shake product into my palms, rub them together and then apply. Yah, so tough.
The spray top’s just a packaging change, but I think it equals a big improvement. The mist covers a large area, making the product much faster and easier to apply. Just mist, rub and go.
Added bonus? The spray never clogs, and even works upside down — love that!
A bottle should last through at least a couple summers (maybe more)… so even though it’s not cheap, it’s almost a long-term investment.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Want to show off your abs o’ steel? Skin misted with Huile Prodigieuse is the hotness when paired with a white bikini!

I love that stuff. I switched to Nars when I ran out of my last bottle.. but the Nars scent is too strong. Once I finish my bottle im going to go back to Nuxe.. I love the way it enhances tanned skin!

Hi Tali,
The Nars one is pretty, but yah, it’s very scented.
You will love the spray cap. It takes it to a whole new level!

Hmm, if I used that stuff on my “abs” right now, it’d look like the proverbial Golden Egg. Not the hotness.
I do look forward to trying this post diet.
How’s this stuff with sweat? You end up with an unsightly stream of gold in your decolletage?
Karen says
Hi Heyhey,
It doesn’t turn into a river of gold glitter between the girls. It actually stays on pretty darn well… I just have to make sure not to over spray. 🙂
Trust me, I’m with you in the Golden Egg department. I’m trying to get back into shape though. Soon, soon.

Like birds, I’m attracted to all things sparkly!
Is this water-proof as well as sweat-proof?

just add a wind machine and suddenly…you’re J-Lo! =)

I got something very similar in a Victoria’s Secret bronzing set last year. It came with a very tan coral lip gloss (looks great on), some gradual body tanner (smells good, but kind of an iffy formula), and a shimmery gold spray. The only thing is that I wish it sprayed more evenly and you didn’t have to put a ton on to get it noticed :/

I’ve never used the version with the gold shimmer, but I love the original Huile Prodigieuse for the smell alone – its gorgeous.
I must go and find mine, I think I need to use that this morning!

Karen you are reading my mind!!
It’s been days that I’ve had this one on my mind, and how great that they doubled the size and added a spray! I was thinking about mixing it with my favorite lotion but now that it has a spray it’s eases the things a lot!!
I just hope it’s available in our stores too…
Karen says
Hi Sonja,
YES! I hoped that I wasn’t the only person who thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread. 🙂
Have you been wearing it for a while?
ines says
gotta try this for competitions, if it really stays on that well! unfortunately i don’t tan – when i “tan” i go from NC 10/15 or NW 15-ish to a 20 or so. i still wear the same “fair” shade in my beloved bareminerals!
maybe this will enhance the competition tan cream stuff that i end up putting on. believe me some girls look like oompa loompas covered with glitter (which i hate – glitter has always been too chunky) – this might make me glow rather than look like a disco queen.
Karen says
Hi Ines,
I really like it. I mean if you’re sweating buckets of course some will rub off but from my experience it stays on pretty well. 🙂

Hey Karen!
Whole last summer I’ve been hovering around Nuxe counter in my pharmacy looking at it, but always had second thoughts about buying and… and while I was pondering the whole summer passed. But it’s been on my mind for days and I just might visit the pharmacy and buy it tomorrow!
It looks like a perfect thing to wear while on the island doing nothing but swimming and resting…
Karen says
Hi Sonja,
I do stuff like that all the time… especially with shoes! I’ll admire a pair of sandals from a far, but then I’ll spend weeks (months!) contemplating them and the entire season will pass.
This dry oil is a lovely splurge, though. Do they have tester at the pharmacy? One spritz and you’ll be hooked. 🙂

Karen,
where do you know of that you can purchase? googled but didn’t find much
thanks!
Karen says
Hi Christine,
You can purchase it online from Beautyhabit.com!
spanks says
hey karen, I really wanna try this product, but do you know where I can purchase it in Canada? or specifically vancouver. I’ve never seen it around before =(
Karen says
Hi Spanks,
Unfortunately I’m not sure where you can purchase it in-store in Vancouver. Here’s a link to the NUXE website — I bet you can contact customer service and they can help you track down where to buy it.
Lyn says
I believe some Shoppers Drug Mart (ones with Beauty Boutique or larger Beauty sections) carry NUXE, and they may carry it there (in Vancouver). Good luck on your search, I’m considering purchasing some myself to try it out, lol. Does it look good with tans, or is it too golden yellow on darker skin?
