Last weekend I did the unthinkable… I encouraged a friend to forgo a caramel cupcake in favor of trying a beauty product.
I know! My sweet tooth was so ashamed, but ever since I picked up Caudalie’s $19 Hand and Nail Cream from Sephora, I’ve felt compelled to push it on all my friends.
“Dude,” I said to her, inches away from the tantalizing treat, “put down that cupcake, because you need to try this hand cream I just got at Sephora.”
Normally, I’d never dream of denying someone the chance to get their sugar on, but that’s how moved I was/am by Caudalie’s cream.
I’d been looking for a new anti-aging hand cream for a while when I stumbled upon this one. It’s bursting with beneficial botanicals and antioxidant-rich grapevine polyphenols to help smooth, soothe and repair, but it lacks parabens, and many of the harsh chemicals commonly found in anti-aging creams (NOTE: in the event that you’re sensitive to silicones, it does contain Dimethicone).
It’s just so rich and moisturizing, and yet it absorbs quickly without leaving a greasy film on my hands, that I’ve totally fallen in love. I also dig the light orange scent.
Ingredients
Aqua (Water), Glycerin*, Cetearyl Alcohol*, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil*, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit*, Glyceryl Stearate*, Tocopheryl Acetate*, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil Unsaponifiables*, Dimethicone, Sodium Cetearyl Sulfate*, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Caprylyl Glycol, Lonicera Caprifolium (Honeysuckle) Flower Extract, Parfum (Fragrance), Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Extract*, Palmitic Acid*, Sodium Hydroxide, Carbomer, Sodium Carboxymethyl Betaglucan, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool. *Origine Vegetale – Plant Origin – Pflanzlichen Urprungs – Origine Vegetale.
It’s a little pricey at $19, but you get a pretty decent amount (2.5 ounces). I also find that I don’t have to use very much.
If you’ve been looking for a new hand cream and find yourself at Sephora one of these days, give it a quick sniff and a try. 🙂
PRICE: $19 for a 2.5-ounce tube
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Sephora stores and also online

I’m always up for trying new hand creams. Will have to check this out at Sephora. I hope they have a smaller size that I can try before committing to the full size 🙂
Karen says
Hi Appu,
I didn’t check the area where they have all the travel-size items, so maybe you’ll find something there!

I’ve been on a hunt for a moisturizing hand cream that isn’t greasy and this sounds like a great option! Plus the anti aging benefits is a nice kicker! I’ll have to pick one up and take it for spin on my paws. Winter is usually super brutal on my hands so I’ll take relief wherever I can find it! Thanks for the rec, Karen!! =)
Karen says
Hi Jae,
You’re welcome! I get very dry hands in the winter, too, and have really been enjoying this hand cream. It’s actually sitting right next to my keyboard! 🙂
Sunny @ Mostly Sunny says
This has been my favorite daytime hand cream for years! And lucky for me, the price is a lil lower here. You don’t need a lot of it either. It’s lightweight, but it does do a great job keeping my hands moisturized!
Karen says
I wish I discovered it sooner. It’s a really great hand cream! Do you use any of Caudalie’s other products?
Sunny @ Mostly Sunny says
Oops! Sorry I didn’t see this till now. I have tried some of their lotions. Their lip conditioner is my favorite. I keep going back to this one! I haven’t stumbled upon any duds in Caudalie, so you should explore!

I’m recently on the hunt for a paraben free hand creme, I’ll have to give it a whiff… an orange scent sounds intriguing.
Also, a while back when you reviewed Smashbox Be Discovered Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner & Brush in Intrigue you suggested I might try a cheaper alternative before committing to the $22 price tag. I’m happy to say I finally did just that and I can’t believe I waited so long! SO much easier than a pencil liner!
Karen says
Hi Jessica,
I’m so happy to hear that this worked out for you! What’s great is that once you get the hang of it, you can line your eyes super fast!
Nina says
i do like my current one … but am open to change. 🙂 they say that one can always tell a woman’s age by her hands so id like to protect mine at all times.
Karen says
I’ve heard that too. I wish I started taking care of mine earlier in life!
Nina says
sigh. i wish i had. before hand cream, i abused hand sanitizer a bit too much … :-/
R says
Hi Karen!
How do you think it compares to L’Occitane?
Have a great day 🙂
Karen says
Hi R,
I’ve been using L’Occitane’s Cherry Princess hand cream, and I think that Caudalie’s feels richer and sinks in faster. I also like that it has anti-oxidants!
R says
Ooh Cherry Princess smells so good! Their red berries candle also smells phenomenal, but unfortunately it does not come in hand cream form 🙁
Newsha says
This is one of only three hand creams I will use. The other two are First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream and Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Moisturizing Hand Treatment. I’ll wear cheap-o lipsticks and lip gloss, but my hands refuse to yield to drugstore hand creams or lotions.
Karen says
EA Eight Hour Cream is a classic. Have you ever tried Clarins? You might like theirs, too.
April says
L’Occitane has a new hand cream that has anti aging properties and it has SPF. I’m pretty sure the bottle is bigger too but cost a little more.
Karen says
I’ll have to look out for it. I just finished their Cherry Princess cream, so this gives me an excuse to stop by the counter. 😀
Antonia at Swedish Love Affair says
THE best hand cream I’ve ever tried!
Karen says
YES! Easily top five for me, hands down.
Melissa says
This is my favorite hand cream! I got it in a mini travel size from Sephora with the Caudalie lip balm for (I think about) $15 or so. It works so nicely in winter.
Karen says
Oh, nice! I was wondering if they made mini sizes. If I travel somewhere I’ll definitely want one for the plane.
What do you think of the lip balm? Do I need it in my life, too?
Melissa says
The mini one is 30mL (I think that’s about 1oz or so) and it’s perfect for a purse or bag! I personally love the lipbalm. It does leave a bit of a thick coat on your lips for a while, but it’s super moisturizing. My only complaint has the be the smell. Not sure why but something is “off” about it. It doesn’t bother me, but someone who is sensitive to smells might be by it.
Here’s the set if anyone is interested! : http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P296912&categoryId=C10479
Kim says
This sounds like a great find. I actually resisted picking up the $5 mini Pacifica on my last trip to Sephora because I have hand cream, galore. This one sounds like it might be worth a splurge on the travel size, at least! 🙂
Stephanie R says
so it sounds better than L’Occitane, you think? I’ve been using that on my hands and normally it works, but ever since we found out I’m pregnant, no amount of hand lotion will help my flaky, dry hands. At least my face isn’t freaking out the same way.
