What started as a marbelous gray, black, gold and dark blue dalliance last spring is now a much brighter affair. Milani is moving winter aside and making way for spring with three playful new Marbelized Baked Eyeshadows ($7.49 each).
First of all, I love their names! 🙂 Must Have Fuchsia, Copper Excess and Green Fortune just seem so perfectly apt. A minor thing, but sometimes for me it’s the minor things that make the biggest impressions.

Swatches from the left: Must Have Fuchsia, Copper Excess and Green Fortune applied dry; and Must Have Fuchsia, Copper Excess and Green Fortune applied with a wet brush head
Like last year’s less vibrant colors, these brighter pans are designed to be applied wet or dry. Dry, for a sheer look, or wet with a moistened brush head (I like MAC Fix+) for more intense color.
Of the new shades, Green Fortune’s the apple of my eye. A mix of shimmery green, purple, taupe and brown on my NC42 skin, I think it’s just as interesting on my lids as it is in the pan.
Very cool, especially when applied with a wet brush. 🙂
With the addition of these new Baked Eyeshadow shades, the Milani Marbelized line moves up in my estimation, but it would move up more if the shadows required a little less effort to apply. For me, fallout is a concern, so I’ve been applying them on top of a sticky base as a primer, and have been using a brush with a firm, flat head. Wetting the brush head with MAC Fix+ beforehand also helps cut back on the tiny bits of shadow fallout I otherwise see on my cheeks and under-eye area.
I really like these new colors, and I’m glad to see Milani continue to expand the line.

Wow, Must Have Fuchsia is CRAZY when applied wet! I totally want it.
However, I’m always less than impressed with Milani’s makeup brushes that come with these. Super low qual.
Karen says
Yeah, I always end up ditching the brushes that come with the product.

Green Fortune looks amazing and totally different when applied wet. It looks pretty and unique in the pan too. I gotta check it out in stores. =)
Karen says
I hope you do!

Green Fortune looks AMAZING in the pan. So, so pretty! I usually stay away from green eyeshadow, but this one looks wearable to me, since it’s not very green when swatched!
Karen says
Aww, green eyeshadow is your friend!

Karen says
You have a great weekend too, Nicole! What are your plans?
Michelle B says
I bought Green Fortune the second I saw it at CVS a few weeks ago. I honestly still haven’t even put it on my eyes… but I have swatched it several times longingly, because I think it is just gorgeous!
You’ve inspired me to get to using it!
Karen says
You’ll have to let me know what you think of it once you get it on your eyes.
Happy Friday!

They look really pretty when applied wet, especially Green Fortune!
Karen says
I know! It’s so complex!
Sunny @ Mostly Sunny says
I love Green Fortune! It looks so vibrant foiled on you! I think it’s complex enough to rival HE eyeshadows.
Happy Friday to you and Tabs, Karen! Hope you guys are going to have a great weekend!
Karen says
Happy Friday to you too, Sunny! What are you, your sweetie and your kitties doing this weekend?
Jill says
i had to have green fortune the second I saw it – so beautiful in the pan! Now i can’t wait to try it wet though – didn’t think of that!
Karen says
Ooh, let me know how it turns out! Do you have MAC Fix+ around? It’s my favorite thing to wet my brushes with. Of course, water also works, too!
Monika says
Thanks for swatching these! I’ve been looking for photos of all three of them (but Green Fortune especially) for weeks, but I haven’t been able to find anything until you posted today. I knew Green Fortune was going to be a total mystery, so I’m pleasantly surprised by it’s unique mix of colors. I like the other two a lot more than I thought I would, too! Oh Milani, always finding a way into my heart despite your janky packaging.
Karen says
I kind of love that you used the word janky, LOL!
Monika says
I’m so glad! I can’t remember when you first said janky, but I FREAKED when you did. I was like, “Oh my god! Someone else says that? That’s so awesome!”

I LOVE Milani eyeshadows. I have quite a few – some single ones in the pans as shown, and some from the Runway Collection. They are pretty good for the cheap price! One of the marbelized ones I have is a black one with black, grey, and red all mixed in. It makes for a dramatic and interesting smoky eye with the red mixed in. There is some fallout, but if you apply it in light layers and don’t put a ton on the brush/applicator it comes with, you won’t get fallout. They also last all day with my UD Sin primer. I highly recommend them as far as cheap drugstore makeup goes. However, I have yet to find a good cream eyeshadow from the drugstore that doesn’t crease even with primer. Any suggestions?
Karen says
Hi Katherine,
Hmm, the closest thing I’ve found are the Maybelline Color Tattoos. They last long, although I do have to wear primer beneath.
Katherine G says
I did try them, actually your blog got me into them! I have Pomegranate Punk, Fierce and Tangy, and Painted Purple. They are pretty good with my UD Sin primer underneath. I like that they can go on sheer or you can do layers for a really pigmented look. The ones I was thinking about where I said they didn’t work were the Cover Girl ones that are the Shadow Blast cream sticks. Cute colors, but won’t last longer than 2 hours at most.

Green Fortune is just too pretty to use. Seriously, it’s like a gorgeous mini-watercolor painting!
Naomi says
My eyes nearly popped out of my head when i saw how bright and vibrant they looked wet!
corallista says
These look so great when applied wet, I’m partial to greens especially ones with olive/taupe tones ! I have to try these out!

Green Fortune looks amazing, the swatch is a little disappointing. Must Have Fuchia is a must have! Haha.
