Greetings and salutations, mon amie. I wanted to quickly show you the new Clinique Milly Pretty in Prints Palette ($36) in action.
What do ya think? I followed the tutorial that comes with the eye and cheek palette this afternoon, and the whole thing took only about 10 minutes to do.
The palette comes with four shadows and a blush; the shadows contain just the right amount of pigment, and all of them are super easy to blend. Heck, I’d call the palette downright perfect if it wasn’t for the matte brown shade, which left mad fallout on my cheeks when I used it as a liner today (which is what the tutorial suggests).
As for the blush…I love it! It’s like a sheerer, less golden version of NARS Orgasm.
Too bad about the fallout from the matte brown shadow, but it doesn’t doom the palette for me. Next time I’m in a hurry or need to look conservatively sharp, I’ll look for Milly.
PRICE: $36 (also comes with a mini-drawstring pouch)
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Clinique counters and online

Chelsie says
Oh, it’s lovely! It works really well with your skin color. 🙂
Karen says
Thanks, Chelsie. 🙂 Are you a Clinique fan, too?
dani@callitbeauty says
ooooh, the blush looks LOVELY! how do you like the pigmentation of the eyeshadows?
Karen says
Hi Dani,
They’re not as pigmented as NARS or MAC, but I don’t think that’s a bad thing. They blend really easily and on days when I need to look polished in a hurry they totally hit the spot.
If you’re a hard-core pigment fanatic, you might have to wet a brush to apply them to get richer color.
April says
That palette is so cute! You look amazing too. What foundation and gloss are you wearing?? You look flawless and lovely!
Karen says
Hi April,
That’s Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation working its magic. It’s kinda heavy for every day wear, but it’s GREAT for pictures. You can read about the foundation/powder combo I use for pics in this post under the section “Face Makeup Products.”

As for the lipgloss, that’s Dolce & Gabbana Ultra Shine Gloss in Bon Bon:

The girl in the yellow shoes says
Oh my gosh I love the blush (I said that before ha) But I love Clinique blushes! And the bag is to die for! Thanks!
Karen says
The bag is too cute, right? I feel like it’s like this compact’s “outfit.” 🙂
Vanessa says
You look so pretty! The colors work really well on you, they look subtly flirty.
Karen says
Thanks, Vanessa. 🙂 Do you think you might pick this up?
Imo says
Apart from teh pink (im not a fan of pink shadows) this looks liek a really wearable palette. This would make a great gift for a beginner too.
Karen says
The pink is here is pretty wearable — it’s not as pigmented as other pinks and has some gold in it that tones it down.
Tiffany says
you look amazing, as always! what’s on yo lips? also, if you had to choose between this palette or the Laura Mercier palette, which would you pick?
Karen says
Hey lady!
That’s Dolce & Gabbana Ultra Shine Gloss in Bon Bon. It’s a little milky at first but after it calms down it looks really pretty and natural.
As for this versus Laura Mercier, that’s a tough call. I love both! If you want warmer colors for work, I’d say go with this one. If you’re looking for slightly cooler shades and more of a party look, then go with LM. I dunno if that helps, LOL! But if you have any more specific questions about either ask away and I’ll try my best to help you decide!
Tiffany says
thanks girl! I should probably buy neither palette, lol, but I’m still debating!
Karen says
LOL, like we actually “need” more palettes. I figure there are worse addictions to have!
snoopysteph says
I had fallout issues this morning with the brown shade too, but it’s not a deal breaker. It’s a great every day palette!
Karen says
Hey Steph,
Did you wear it as a liner, too? I used an angled brush to apply it and man… it got all over the place.
Also, from yesterday: your birthday weekend sounds like it was perfect. I’m glad you had fun with your friends and family and also had time to pamper yourself! I hope this next year brings you great things. 🙂
snoopysteph says
Yeah, I used a dense angled brush to use as a liner and it was quite messy. I’m thinking about wetting the brush with some Fix next time to see if that will control the application better. Did you line your upper lash line too? You can’t really tell in the pic.
Re: my birthday – thanks!! 🙂 I’m hoping for great things. Seems like 99% of my female friends are preggers right now so it’s going to be a busy year filled with baby showers & births! 😀
Karen says
Great minds think alike! I was planning on doing the same thing. 🙂 And yup, I lined the upper lash line here too… I just smudged the heck out of it because I wanted a softer look.
Oh wow! That’ll be cool to have a whole bunch of kids that grow up together. 🙂 None of my close friends have had kids yet… I’m still waiting to be the cool aunt (because everyone needs a cool aunt). 🙂
Tracy says
Love that blush on you!
Karen says
Thanks, Tracy!
So, I have a new monster show for you. Do you have the SyFy channel? I just started watching Being Human and it’s great. It stars a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost. No zombies, though (so far).
Tracy says
I taped this-it’s on our Space Channel on Fridays-I just haven’t had a chance to watch it yet. I’m going to watch it tonight. It sounds interesting-what did you think of it?
Nina says
i love the look 🙂
Karen says
Thanks, Nina! 🙂
Hope you had a great Tuesday.
Nina says
i hope you had a great Tuesday too~ 🙂
Karen says
Thanks! It went by fast… I’m gonna be so relieved when this week is over. I will have to treat myself to some shoes or something, LOL!
Traci says
I got this and the Milly Pink gloss today! It looks so pretty and can’t wait to use them!
Karen says
Oh, nice! I swatched the gloss at the counter and thought it was beautiful. So glad you like this collection. 🙂
kana says
I love the colors on you look absolutely amazing! I love the print and the color of the blush. I’ve nver used their blushes, but i think i might have to try it out. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Kana,
I like ’em because they’re foolproof. You can just swipe, blend out the edges and then go! So good for work days or when you’ve gotta be out the door in a flash.
Kerry says
Sheer, less golden version of Orgasm? I’m there. 🙂
Karen says
🙂 The rest of the palette is great, too!
Erica says
See, I’m not even into Clinique’s makeup, but somehow I really want that palette! The colors look really pretty.
Karen says
Hi Erica,
They totally hit this one out of the park! It’s even more beautiful in person. 🙂
Dimplez says
The color really looks good on you:) what shade is ur skin tone?
Karen says
Hi Dimplez,
I was color matched at MAC a loooong time ago and the artist told me I was an NC35. In Laura Mercier I wear Sunset Beige and in Chanel I wear Soft Honey.
marmar says
Very pretty! I love that it isn’t overpowered by more lavender and purple shades. :X
Btw have you seen the new Shu Uemura palettes? Amazing as usual. (I love, love their collections.)
Karen says
Hi Marmar,
I have. They’re harder to get in the US ever since they pulled out of stores, boo.
Lady Di. says
I love this palette for an every day work look! I have a smaller Clinique palette I got last year that was included free with a purchase, it has 2 similar shades to the brown and pink here and I still use it all the time!
Karen says
Oh, nice! Do you think you might still pick this one up?
Liz! says
I really like that look! And the design on the palette, so pretty. I’m always scared to do pink eyeshadows on myself, every time I’ve tried it makes me look sick or like I have a rash or something lol.
Karen says
I’m the same way with certain colors, too. I can’t wear anything that’s too red on my eyes… I feel like it makes me look like a zombie!
@PTTScarlet says
Wow! Some this palette is lovely – really soft, neutral and natural colours.
Karen says
It’s Clinique at its best. 🙂
Ruchita says
Gorgeous! I love these colors. I will definitely put this palette on my makeup wish list.
Karen says
Yay, Ruchita! I think you’ll be able to get a lot of use out of it. It’s practical and pretty.
Nika says
I don’t know, is it just me or do most of Clinique’s palettes look alike? I feel like most of their colors are really similar. Or maybe it’s just been such a coincidence that all the Clinique eye shadows I’ve been getting as gifts all have similar shades? 😛 It’s extremely similar to this one right here!
Jordan says
This looks right up my happy- fun neutrals for everyday! Did the shadows and blush last a decent amount of time and stay true to color?
Trini says
What is the name of the blush? I like the palette, but looks similar to something I already have from Clinique.
Kim says
This is why I love Clinique. 🙂 These colors are right up my alley. Of course, I already have very close versions of the shadows, but I’m so tempted by the pouch! I really think my next Clinique purchase will be Posh Squash shadow since I am excited to give orange a whirl, thanks to Givenchy.
Andreea says
This is supercute and suits you very well… wonder if it is something for bright, yellow skin.
Sarah says
I just ordered the Milly palette and gloss as a pre-order for my BonTon gwp. Should come this week.
Clinique was my makeup standard and all I used until a year ago. I still love Clinique but I’m trying new makeup brands since I discovered Sephora when I moved.
