OMG these are all gorgeous, but my faves are the Luichiny Minx shoes and of course, of COURSE, the Manolos.
Adina says
OMG Karen, you have just generated some serious shoe lusting in me. A very bad thing considering I just spent about $800 on 6 pairs of shoes. I’m not gonna lie though, the Charles Davids are freaking sexy!
ilovecheese says
Hi Karen, the shoes are such such a delight! Which ones are you thinking of buying? My fav one is J. Crew Lucie (so elegant), but Sergio Rossi Evanthia and KORS Michael Kors Taffy are also calling out to me..

oh wow I LOVE the Cavallis! I know the at totally over the top but if you’re gonna spend so much money on a pair of shoes they may as well be noticable!!
Ive been meaning to ask you Karen, the Heatherette collection has finally arrived in the UK but unfortunately is only available at selfridges London and online and as im far too impatient to wait until im in london at the end of the month im going to order some goodies online! so as i wont be able to have a good try of everything first i was wondering what you thought the best of the colection are? Im not really interested in the eye trios as im not a huge fan of MAC eyeshadows but was thinking of getting the beauty powders, one of the double ended liners and the lipglass in sock hop!

Once again, my head was turned by Manolos (and I like the Enzo Angiolinis too), but the Robert Cavallis were the real stand-outs to me! So unique! Curse them for making shoes I can’t afford! On the other had, shoes are key in my cosmetics justification routine… $50 for an eyeshadow quad? Oh well, it’s not like I’m spending $500 on a pair of shoes, right, honey? 😉
And, ok, I know the shoes last a lifetime and the makeup doesn’t, I’m just still balking at the lump sum!
Hope everyone is enjoying a terrific Thursday!

Girl… you must be reading my mind. I’ve been lemming these: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/5794484/c/23080.html but thinking I would buy these: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/37031079/c/1737.html My favorites are the Kate Spade ones, the Claudia Ciuti ones and the Michael Kors Taffy.
BTW – I ordered fit flops in silver recently because I needed some more arch supports (for new shoes:-) )and I had a coupon for the place I order online from. They came in the mail over the weekend. It’s still hit or miss for being warm enough for sandals/flip flops here…so I haven’t really broken them out yet, but I am excited about them. So many people were raving about them last summer. I hope they work.
Amanda says
the luichiny minx ones make the laugh! sorry-they are a little over the top with the fluff.
I like the michael kors taffy and max studio seahorse.
Dao says
I like the Kate Spade ones, the pink insole really sold (pun intended!) I have wide feed so no strapy shoes or sandals for me.
Breezy says
I am all about the T straps right now but OMG come to momma the luichiny minx!!! I…must….have….those….now! I think you’re gonna make me forgo my bills for these shoes Karen because they are awesome!
Karen says
Hi Shefali,
The Manolos are fab. I want, I want! Hope you are having a good day!
Karen says
Hi Adina,
LOL, Do you have a shoe thing, too? I’m sure you know all about the miracle that is called the Foot Petal!
Karen says
Hi Ilovecheese,
My heart would love the Cavalli’s but my wallet would kill me if I splurged. Right now I’m thinking the Enzo’s or the J. Crew Meredith!
Karen says
Hi Holly,
OMG, me too! They are way crazy but I’d so rock those if I could afford them.
Regarding Heatherette, I really liked the lipglosses and lipsticks. Definitely get Sock Hop; the Beauty Powders were nice but I’d save my $. I had a difficult time with the double ended liners. Although the dark sides had dense, deep pigmentation, I found the formula too soft, creamy and a lil bit messy… but them I’m clumsy so user error could’ve played a big part in the execution, LOL.
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
I *lurve* the Cavallis but yah, talk about sticker shock! I would rock those in a hot second though if I had to work the red carpet or go hang with P. Diddy or something, LOL.
Oh, the compare/contrast is so key to doing makeup math. I use it all the time myself. 😉
My Thursday has be going great. Today is my “Friday” so that’s keeping me happy. Hope you’re having a groovy day!
Karen says
Hi Megan,
Oh! I peeped those two earlier when I was making this list! I like the Bandolinos. 🙂 All I have to say is I spend a LOT of time on Zappos, LOL.
I saw those FitFlops at Macy’s last week. I am kinda intrigued, too. I will probably end up getting a pair once our weather settles in May.
Karen says
Hi Amanda,
Yah, they are pretty over the top… I dunno, they kinda remind me of cotton candy!
Seahorse is so pretty. I’ve been lusting big time over Max Studio shoes as of late. They have a ton of cute pairs.
Karen says
Hi Dao,
Me too… I am a sucker for splashes of hot pink! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Breezy,
Girl, you better be teaching a lot of swimming! J/K I want those too… even though I have no idea where I’d wear em, LOL.
Aleks says
Yoooowh!
I’ve never been good at wearing (read: walking) high heels even though they’re pretty! I suppose I should learn how to walk in heels before my graduation party LOL! I’m so loving the J. Crew Helena sandals. They’re SO pretty.
Apparently we could never excercise together, hahah 😀 Apparently our tastes are like night and day! If you ever change your mind about bowling you at least got some mad skills! ;D
Glad to hear you haven’t been bombarded with work this week. It’s vital to have enough sleep. I know what it’s like to be sleep-deprived. I’ve been suffering from it for the past four years or so but I guess that’s just ’cause my sleep pattern differs from the normal go-to-bed-at-10PM-and-wake-up-at-7AM. I can easily stay up until 3AM and sleep until 1PM. Crazy, eh.
Your weekend seems to be filled with fun, yay! It’s good for you to relax and do all things fun with your friends. Enjoy! 🙂

Ha ha! You totally inspired me! I went to the Neiman Marcus website and drooled over Manolos and Louboutins for a while! I can always afford to look! Such yummy styles! Someday I’ll win the lottery and have enough to (a) buy such fabulous shoes and (b) pay a chiropractor to fix my back after wearing said fabulous shoes! 😉
Enjoy your Thursday/Friday! My day has been moderately groovy and I am way stoked for my Friday/Friday! 😀
Karen says
Hi Aleks,
Heels take practice and various accoutrements. I use foot petals, inserts, moleskin and various other things in my high heeled shoes. I don’t get to wear them as often these days but I still love em! You should totally make it a summer project to learn how to wear heels, LOL! Let me know if you need guidance!
Girl, I dunno. Maybe we could go running? That doesn’t involve projectiles. 🙂
Yah, work was soooo much better for me this week. Last week just that time of year when things get a little nutty (it happens every six months). My job has a lot of detailed oriented tasks and if I mess up people will be mad cranky about their money! I’m like you in that I’m naturally a night owl. I totally can party with the neighbor’s tabby (and you, apparently!) till the wee hours. Working in the corporate world for years kinda changed that sleep pattern tho…
How’s things on your end? Still relaxing and chilling or are you looking to work this summer?
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
OMG, the Neiman Marcus shoe section online is like candy for my mind. I love it! Honestly I have no idea where I’d wear those faboo shoes (Trader Joes?) but hey, one can dream.
Oh, in your lottery dream you have to have your chiropractor be a dead ringer to Brendan Fraser!
What have you been up to today? I am home from work and now get to conquer a huge pile of dishes (blah) and a load of laundry (double blah). Just waiting for the boy to come home so we can go to the gym.
Glosslizard says
Ha! Love it! Rock the shoes to TJ’s and then go to Brendan Frasier, dream chiropractor! LOL!
I have been up to nothing worth mentioning! No. Really. You’d thank me for not mentioning it. Going to the gym with one’s guy sounds so good! Unfortunately, Hubby is taking a required week-long class for work that requires him to drive and hour commute each way and stay late every night! We’ll be back to aikido together next week though! 🙂
Karen says
Aww, I didn’t know you two did aikido together! That’s so cute! Is he always your partner in class?
Breezy says
One word Karen- Church – lol if all else fails you can dig out your prettiest shoes and dress it up for church yaaay haha
Aleks says
Hey!
The load of stuff you need for protecting your feet from high heels – DAMN! ;D Well, I don’t really have much time since the party is in May 31, haha. But I guess if I start now I may succeed. Thanks, I may ask for your help later!
Running? Ask that again in six months (so I have enough time to get myself in shape=I suck at running=I know you’re a great runner LOL). 😀
It must be tough at times to be somewhat responsible for other people’s money. Like, they get mad at you and that ain’t fun. But I guess all jobs have their pros and cons. But enjoy the occasional ‘rest break’ now you can. 🙂
Things are still good here. I try to fill my days with cleaning, letter writing, friends, reading etc – anything to keep me busy and prevent me from lazying around all day. I haven’t got a job yet despite all the sent applications, but I’m hoping for the best!

Erin says
Love the Manolos of course, but realistically, I might go buy those Guess by Marcianos… cute!!!
Glosslizard says
No, we partner up from time to time, but it’s considered good mat etiquette to try and partner with everyone! Besides, the more variety in partners, the more you learn!
Karen says
Hi Breezy,
Good idea! Put the shoes to good use and hang with the higher powers that be… ahh, that’s a good day.
Karen says
Hi Aleks,
Yah, I know it’s a ton of stuff! It all helps though, I swear!
Truth be told, I’m not as hard core as I used to be when it comes to running. I’m slower than I used to be and don’t have grand ambitions to do marathons or half marathons anymore. I’m happy with a slow 3 miles at a controlled trot. You’d be able to hang, I promise. 🙂
Yah, its kind of nerve racking when there are lots of commas and decimal places involved. It’s not too bad, just really detail oriented stuff and that requires a different sort of brain power. You’ll probably discover the nightmare called “paperwork” and “red tape” when you start working. It ain’t cute.
Wow, that’s good you are staying busy! That’s great you are motivated to not be a lazy beast (’cause I think I would be). I will keep my fingers crossed for you and hope you get chill, fun job!
Karen says
Hi Erin,
I like those too. And they are more in my price range, as well! Have a good weekend!
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
You guys are like an entire aikido family… are you sure ya’ll don’t do superhero stuff on the side?
