I honestly did not intend for this post to turn into a novel about the three Magnetic Nude Fluidlines, but the more time I spend with them, the more I think they’re just about the most exciting Fluidlines I’ve seen in a really long time.
My friend Courtney (hey, Court!) summed it up well in a text she sent me today. “I’m drooling over that Magnetic Nudes Collection! And I’m not a nudes kind of girl!”
There’s just something special about these three Fluidlines that drew me to them right away. The attraction was straight. Up. Magnetic.
Let’s start with It’s Physical.
I swear, pics do not do this shade justice.
Officially, MAC describes It’s Physical as a brown with purple pearl, but on me it’s more of a purplish brown duochrome with hot pink and gold glitter — elements that can border on cray but work in the BEST possible way in this case.
I tried to capture the fine glitter flecks as well as I could, but in real life, this color is much livelier, more sparkly and more dynamic. I don’t know why the camera missed most of the pink glitter, but you can see a little flash of it in the left eye up in the pic up top, right in the middle of my lid. But when you see this color in person, it’s much more obvious.
The Fluidlines are usually used as gel liners, like for cat eyes, but they can also double as cream shadows and eyeshadow bases. It’s Physical works in all those ways, but I like it best worn as a cream shadow.
Here’s what I like to do: pat it on my lids with a 239, and then, right away, buff out the edges, drawing the shadow up toward my brow bone. Buffing brings out the brown tones and adds some smoke to the look. I think it also coaxes out more of the pink glitter.
It’s important to work quickly with this color and all of the Fluidlines if you plan to wear them as eyeshadows, because they dry really fast.
After buffing, I pat 2-3 additional layers along my lower lash line and in the outer corner to create a gradient. Whack a little Smolder along my water lines and bam! — a glittery, smokey purplish brown eye that takes very little effort. LOVE IT!
It’s Physical is the star of this show, for sure, but I think the two other colors are just as beautiful and totally worthy of your makeup bag. Like It’s Physical, they work great as liners, eyeshadow bases and standalone cream shadows.
Metallic reddish brown Our Secret, the only Fluidline in this launch without flecks of glitter, is my second fave shade.
It’s basically like a gel liner version of MAC’s must-have Teddy Eye Kohl…
I know, right?! Beautiful on its own patted and buffed on the lids, maybe with some Teddy on the water lines.
Oh, and if you like reddish brown eyeshadows like Swiss Chocolate, and coppery colors like Amorous Alloy Extra Dimension Eye Shadow, also from the Magnetic Nude collection, you could get tons of use out of it.
Chilled, the third shade, is a frosty white gold with golden glitter — also super pretty, particularly as an inner corner highlight or patted and buffed on the lids. I bet you could also wear it on the brow bone, or maybe even the upper cheekbones.
The final word/s? Beautiful and interesting. All three of these are going straight into my regular eye makeup rotation, and heck, they might just take up permanent residence there.
Plus, you just can’t beat that long-wearing Fluildline formula. You won’t find any creasing or fading here, ma, and it’s like the Energizer bunny. It keeps going and going and going…

You may have noticed something different…
And if you did, would you please give El Hub some pointers? I went to the salon on Monday night and got my hair colored about two shades darker. It hasn’t been this dark since 2011!
Anywho, El Hub was my ride to and from the salon, so you might think he would have noticed, but noooo. When he picked me up he said, “It looks brown. Is it lighter?” And I was like, “REALLY? Are you kidding me?”
Note: he was not kidding me. Homeboy was totally serious.
*SIGH!* Don’t even get me started about the time I came home with pink streaks and he didn’t even notice for two weeks.
Dudes!!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Interesting! It’s nice to get some thorough thoughts on these, they weren’t screaming out to me on their own. But now I’m definitely curious. You’re darker hair is really beautiful!

Oh man, now I don’t know which shade to choose! I was going to get Our Secret after seeing your swatches yesterday, but after reading this post I don’t know what to doooooooooooooooooo!! It’s Physical or Our Secret?!

My vote is for It’s Physical! But if you want something less glittery and more for every day, then Our Secret. Both are great though!

I am so in love with the It’s Physical fluidline. I gotta have it!! Your hair looks to die for. My hubby never notices my new hair. I got mine done today. He said it looks more blonde but that’s only after I asked him if he liked it.

I was wondering what you were going to do to your hair! I saw on Instagram that you were going to the salon today. Did you go lighter?
Agata says
Just refreshed the color so it’s nice and blonde and I got a haircut and added more layers.

I’m diggin’ this look and your under eye brightness!

It’s Physical and chilled are speaking to me…
I feel like Our Secret might be too warm for me though? It looks warm in the pot but not so much in the swatch… *confused*

I love these shadows! I just did a post on the Urban Decay Naked Palette for less and they had a few colors similar to the ones you have.

WOW! When I saw your first photo right under the title of the post, I thought: to heck with the fluidlines, I want to know what that EYESHADOW is!!! I would never have thought to use a fluidline as a shadow–will have to give it a shot. I am definitely getting It’s Physical and Our Secret.

OMG, your hair looks amazing and so does that look. So amazing that I want to run out and buy all three of the Fluidlines. 😀 I CAN’T BUT I WILL DREAM.
Seriously, though! Beautiful and elegant.

I wasn’t going to get any of the fluidlines, but now I need It’s Physical!! It’s gorgeous, I love the pink sparkles!

Oh, this is glitterific – I love it (and wish I was 10 or 15 years younger, ’cause I’d be rockin’ it! HAHA!).
I like your hair, too! Don’t be too upset with El Hub – at least he’s not one of those guys who picks up on every little thing (or worse, is critical about every change). When he looks at you, he sees what’s on the inside. 🙂 You’re welcome, El Hub. You can email me and I’ll let you know where to send the check. HAHA!

I’m so tempted by these, so perty! 🙂 Love the hair too, absolutely beautiful.

Since I love both cream shadow and gel liners, these are whispering to me. Gotta check ’em out. Love your darker hair! I don’t think husbands notice two shades either way. That said, Jeff usually does notice when I get my hair re-redded, but maybe because red fades more and is so much more vibrant after new color
Jennifer says
Guys never notice the color hair changes unless it’s drastic. (Blond to red, mid length to pixi)
Unless they are crushing on you. Then they always notice.
