Got a new tea tonight from Trader Joe’s. Honey Jasmine. I’m really looking forward to having a cup tonight.
Mmm… Honey Jasmine.
Kidding! It’s not a tea, or at least I don’t think so, although it does sound delish, doesn’t it?
It’s a new blush from MAC — a fresh squeezed coral cutie from the MAC All About Orange Collection, and it’s making me think of tea.
And Honey Boo Boo.
Yeah…I really need to stop watching reality TV (she says, while programming her Tivo to record Million Dollar Listing: New York).
Swear to gawd, I just did that. 🙂
Oh, and if you have a tan, babe, Honey Jasmine sure looks sweet on bronzed cheeks.
I picked up a little more color on my quick SoCal jaunt last week, and I’ve been wearing Honey Jasmine every day since.
I gauged the wear time last weekend during a very important business meeting… Okay, it wasn’t a meeting. It was a Law & Order: SVU marathon. 🙂
When I peeled myself off the couch after four hours, I took a look in the mirror, and my blush seemed a touch darker than it did earlier in the day. In my mind, I heard the SVU “Dun-DUUN!!” and wondered if Benson or Stabler would be able to solve this mystery…
Probably. They’re talented like that.
I tried again yesterday and noticed the same thing. If powder products tend to oxidize on your skin, it might be something to keep in mind.
My poor pan of Chanel Frivole is also mighty miffed about having to share counter space next to Honey Jasmine.
The two colors are similar — both of them, sun-soaked with a satin finish that says, “You would have loved the spa, daaaaahling!”
I’m not one to gossip, but I think Frivole’s a little jealous of Honey biting her style.
I’m just sayin’. 🙂
PRICE: $21
AVAILABILITY: Available now online, and coming to MAC counters and stores June 6

Oh, jeez. DAT. COLOR.
I’ve gotta say, I picked up Ripe for Love from the last collection and I find myself lemming Honey Jasmine as well (gasp, picking up two coral-y colors in a month?!?!)
I wonder how this compares to Modern Mandarin from last year’s Tres Cheek collection! I need a good enough excuse to NOT get this, LOL.
Karen says
Hi Prerna,
Oh, I LOVE Ripe for Love. Isn’t Temperature Rising gorgeous? Did you get the chance to play with anything else from the collection?
Swagata says
That color is looking so nice on you… I am loving the color orange these days…beautiful shade it is 🙂
Karen says
Thanks!

LOL ok I was about to say “this HAS to be mine” but then I saw the comparison swatch of Frivole and decided it was close enough that I definitely didn’t need both. Thanks for posting that otherwise I would’ve purchased it for sure! It really is pretty though! I love my Frivole and have been reaching for it more and more as the weather gets warmer! 😀
Karen says
Sure. 🙂 Have a nice day!

It suits you really well. I picked up the Royal Sunset from this collection and I am in love!
Karen says
Oh nice. I’ve got that one lined up for review soon. Did you get any of the lip colors?
Agata says
Yes! I got Razzledazzler- super pretty and Flamingo- it should be delivered tomorrow but I am so glad I was able to get it after it sold out on mac website so quickly.
Karen says
Oh, nice. The great thing those shades is that they’ll go with your Ripe For Love Blush quite nicely.
Icequeen81 says
that shade looks amazing on you
Karen says
Thanks, Icequeen! Happy Weds. 🙂

Gowthami says
the shade looks gorgeous and perfect on yu.. 🙂
Karen says
Thanks!
Jennifer says
Looks spectacular on you! But it’s very orange… what do you think about that for light girls?
Karen says
Hi Jennifer,
It depends on how well you wear orange. If you use a light touch and a fan brush it could look fantastic.
Larie says
I’m excited, I just ordered one for myself, too!
Karen says
Hi Larie,
Yay! Did you pick anything else up from the collection?
Miriam says
I am a c6 in Mac studio fix function I have ripe for love could these two be the same ??? And I do tend to oxidize things . What would you suggest c 6 is way darker than nc40 but much lighter than nc42
Julie says
I just bough this blush and I am in love! What lipsticks did you love from this collection?
MONICA says
thanks for the review how does this compare to mandarine orange from the tes cheek bc I already have that one??
MONICA says
oops I meant modern mandarin….how does this compare to that??lol

Karen what brush do you recommend to apply this blush? I used the nars yachiyo brush n that didn’t work. Blush did not even show over my nc 45 foundation. Came to conclusion that brush is better suited for very pigmented blushes Iike nars Taj Mahal. I fell in love with honey jasmine when I saw swatches online. However it’s barely showing up on my skintone when I swatched it 🙁
Karen says
Hi Mary,
I just use a regular blush brush. I pack it on there, work the powder into the bristles by pushing the brush head into my palm, and then I apply it on my cheeks. Have you tried layering it? You may need to do 2-4 layers to get it to really pop.
Mary says
Hi Karen!
Thanks much 😀 I usually just do one application. I’ll try layering it and see how it goes.
