When I was a kid I had one of those sets of underwear with a different printed pair for every day of the week, and being the rebel that I was, I liked to wear the days out of order. Sometimes, I’d wear the Saturday pair on Wednesday, the Thursday pair on Monday — you get the idea.
I wonder if that’s why I feel compelled to wear the products in Pixi’s new Week of Wakeup Makeup ($34) out of order… The new palette contains 21 powder eyeshadows, 7 powder blushes and eight lip glosses sorted into groups for a different look every day of the week (like Underoos for makeup, LOL!). 🙂
Products in the Pixi makeup line, which was developed by makeup artist (and mum) Petra Strand, are designed to enhance natural beauty, so you won’t find any crazy colors here. Just plenty of neutrals in warm and cool shades — basically, tones to bring out a slightly more colorful version of yourself.

The kit’s a little pricey for drugstore (the new trend at Target), but with it you do get a ton of easy-to-wear, workable makeup. And it’s travel friendly, too — small enough to fit into a gym bag or overnight case. 🙂

I was totally an days of the week undies rebel, too. We all thought we were so unique, lol.
I like the idea of this kit a lot, I think it would be a great starter kit for someone who just doesn’t know how they would want to go about matching colors. I still am not a huge fan of lip products with powder products, but that’s another battle.

$34? That is pretty steep. Throw in $10 more and i can get the UD Naked Palette, sans the yucky lipglosses that always end up becoming a mess anyway. NIce try Target, but I live to save money another day!

LOVE the look of the lip colours for Thurs and Fri – but at the price, I’d pass. I would have much rather seen the days sold separately, at more reasonable prices! 😛

Pictures, please? Pictures will make or break this…I normally hate palettes, but the quality of pixi is pretty good, and it would be a great vacation week makeup kit. Toss your mascara and eye primer in a bag and good to go!

i LOVE thursday and friday! i’m just not too keep on having the lip products next to powder products because i can never keep them clean no matter how careful i am :p.
Megan says
Aaaaand (not to double comment; sorry, remembered this) isn’t pixi not strictly a drugstore brand? Sephora used to carry them–am I remembering correctly? I think this is more an upscale brand being carried by a drugstore. I know that both Jemma Kidd and Napoleon Perdis’ drugstore lines were lower-quality designed specifically for Target, but I don’t think that’s the case for pixi.
If what I’m saying is correct, then the pricing isn’t so bad–you’d have to think of it in relation to Sephora prices, rather than regular drugstore brands.

Wow, the lip colors are a lot more pigmented and pretty than I was expecting! That being said…I just don’t like palettes where they put eyeshadows together with cream products. Do. Not. Like.
Jessi (Lacquered, Painted, Polished) says
Wow, that is way better than I expected. And the lippies actually look pretty pigmented. Like I said when first posted the picture of this set, I had days of the week underwear too. But I HAD to wear them on the right days. I trained my parents well to have the right ones clean at the right times!

i love the idea of this to have the whole weeks look planned out and to switch it up i will really be tempted to try and sneak this in the cart

For 34 bucks, I’d rather buy a Too Faced palette. xP

Seems like a great kit to take with you when you travel. And the lip products look beautiful!

I’m drooling like I’ve never drooled before… HAving said that I’m not a big fan of cream prods right next to powder(y) products in a palet. It just doesn’t work!
But it still looks have-worthy…

This is a cute idea, but I bet it would get messy really fast.
Therese says
It’s a great idea but a lot of the colours look samey to me. And some of the blushes are REALLY dark! I’d love to have an empty palette and a selection of mini palettes to go inside so you could pick your own and make up a personalised weekly makeup wardrobe = )

This is just so appealing to me in theory. As a relative makeup newbie, it would be nice not having to figure out looks all on my own every morning…but in reality this would never work for me because I am 1) super picky about my blush 2) tend to avoid cool colors so that eliminates Thursday and Friday and 3) don’t like creams and powders together. But the appeal is so strong that if I had seen this product at Target I would have probably picked it up on impulse. Good thing I read my favorite blog this morning before heading out to run errands….Target is my first stop. 😀

what a lovely kit!
ive always been curious about pixi! 🙂

seems to be a great idea for lazy days 😉 really cute anyway ^^
Christy says
Hmm that’s a lot of makeup options! I could probably do this with my own collection just not etch the days of the week into the products 😛 I wonder is this supposed to make you look awake? I’m confused by the name & the purpose of these shades? Each day seems to get progressively more daring until Saturday. I’d be interested to know the thought behind this…

I love the idea of it, but some of the colors are just so similar that I am not inclined to purchase it at that price. If the palette consisted of Weds/Thurs/Fri, and was cheaper, I would consider picking it up. Kudos to Pixi for such a cute idea, though.
Shannon says
I kind of really like this idea…. do you have any opinion on the feel of the products? Is the quality worth the money? I really like a lot of the colors I see, but I’m especially curious about their wear time.
Kim says
Well, it is a bit on the pricey side but there seems to be a lot of value in that little package. On a side note, I also had the dotw undies. They were Garfield and color coded with paw prints that matched the waistband color. Now is a good time to mention (again) that I sometimes forget what happened yesterday…. 🙂
Cindy (Prime Beauty) says
A great idea in theory, I too would want to wear them out of order–wish maybe the days were sold separatley?
Izzy says
didn’t pixi have a kit with glosses in a little drawer beneath the powders? that would be cute and might help to keep it mess-free. i think I would buy a few is they were like $5-7 each. It’s more appealing to collect them all!

Anyone else have Rebecca Black’s song eerily creeping up in the backs of their minds while reading this post?
Jen W says
I’m liking Thurs and Fri lip colours, but not really a big fan of everything else. I like my products pigmented.
Asiah says
Wow, this is a really cute idea, i might pick one up before i go on my summer abroad trip:-)

I need this. I might run and get it after work today.

Has anyone tried Pixi? How are their products?
