The new limited edition NARS Albatross Lip Gloss ($24 and part of the NARS Holiday 2011 collection) really put me in a fowl mood today…
(Sorry! 🙂 I couldn’t resist.)
Based on how it looked in the tube, I was sure I’d only feel “Eh” about it, but once I got it on my lips, I totally changed my tune.

If someone were able to liquify pearls the color of cream and added a heaping helping of golden micro glitter, they’d get Albatross. From some angles, a creamy pearl; from others, a warm gold. It’s dynamic, and that’s one of the things I like about it.
I saw myself in the mirror with it on and thought, “Dang! Are those Kim Kardashian’s lips?” 🙂 Glossy, shiny, with just a hint of color. I think Albatross would look fan-freakin’-tastic with dark smokey eyes.
Oh, and you know how NARS glosses are sometimes known for that whole plasticky thing? This shade is neither scented nor flavored. A big plus for gals who prefer their glosses without any sensory bells or whistles.
PRICE: $24

It’s a shame I have such pale lips, because this would make me look dead. I do love Nars lip glosses, they’re so light and colorful (usually). I’ll stick with the Albatross highlighter!

I’m intrigued! I’ve been looking for something like this 🙂

I love anything with a pearly glow and this is really pretty!

It looks so pretty on you. 🙂 I’m not sure if it would work on me. I lips that can’t rock any opaque light pinks or milky white glosses.

I have a photo shoot on Saturday, and I totally need this by that day!

That looks gorgeous on you! I have a strained relationship with nude lips – my lips are really pigmented, so I tend to look strange and washed out (in a bad way) with nude lips. But I feel like that gloss has kind of a multi-dimensional shine to it. Hmm. 🙂

I like how soft this colour is, and the NARS packaging is very sleek. It’s good that it’s not scented or fragranced so that more people can use it, but I’d miss MAC’s signature vanilla scent.
(Ever since using their lip products, I grew really accustomed to it and loved the smell so much that when I use another brand’s lip products and they don’t have the same smell, I get a little disappointed!)

OMG gorgeous! I love it, but I think it would look best on me with a lipstain underneath to give a little color. Do you think this would work, or would it defeat the purpose?

PS,
The “Nude” makeup you paired with the gloss compliments you very nice. I love whatever color shadow you used!
