Ever been cruising a beauty department and suddenly start daydreaming about leopard-print carpeting and YSL?
Really?! Me, too! 🙂
It happened the other day while I was playing with the new Yves Saint Laurent Northern Lights holiday collection.
The quads? Mmm-kay. The blushes? I thought they also were pretty cute, but the new $25 Creme D’Eyeliner in No. 07 Gold Star?
Note to self: if I ever inherit a mansion from a mysterious billionaire benefactor (BTW, WHERE ARE YOU?!), I’m painting one of the rooms from floor to ceiling in this warm, bronzy gold (and installing leopard-print carpeting and red velvet curtains).
Can you picture Tabs in a room like that wearing his Hugh Hefner robe?
LOL! Here’s my point: this cream liner is opulent and rich.
At first I was drawn to it because it reminded me of one of my favorite colors of all time, MAC Powersurge, but after getting to know it better, now I think it’s a star in its own right.
Flush with pigment, the soft and fluffy cream formula glides smoothly across my skin, and once it locks on lash and water lines, it doesn’t budge. As a matter of fact, I have to bring out the big guns to remove it, so you might want to have a waterproof eye makeup remover close by.
If your holiday party itinerary is completely booked, and you’re the kind of guy/gal who doesn’t like to bust out five different colors and eight brushes to do an eye look, grab a pot of Gold Star, and then just line your lash and water lines with it, pat some on your lids, and blend out the edges.
Tada! Maybe also curl your lashes, give ’em a couple coats of your most dramatic black mascara (right now I’m in a thing with Chanel Le Volume… SO AWESOME!), fill in your brows, and slick your lips with your favorite red lipstick and/or gloss. 🙂

MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A+ (I’m tempted to get a backup…or two; I love it that much)
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
P.S. Gobble gobble! Hope you’re having a great night. I’m just watching 30 Rock now and getting ready for bed. I had a Tabs scare earlier. I was on the way out of the house, and El Hub asked if I’d seen Tabs lately, and I realized I hadn’t in hours. A few freaked out minutes later, I found him hiding in a closet upstairs.
I guess he hates the vacuum about as much as I do, haha.
