Becca, I just want to make sure we’re clear. Oh — would you look at that? It looks like we are. 🙂 Because Becca’s new Lip Plumping Moisture Gloss ($23) is exactly that: clear.
It’s a clear, hydrating gloss with a few good things going for it, like a finish shinier than high-gloss nails; a comfy, non-sticky texture; and a yummy cinnamon-and-brown sugar flavor and scent (it’s subtle and fades quickly).
I also like the brush tip, which is soft, but not too soft, so it doesn’t splay. A minor thing, sure, but I appreciate how easy it is to control.
As far as the product’s plumping prowess, well, I haven’t really noticed a lot. No big difference in lip volume, but that’s par for the course for me when it comes to lip plumpers. At least in this one’s case, it doesn’t sting.
I was just about to give Becca Lip Plumping Moisture Gloss a spot in my regular rotation of makeup, but then it disappeared! — from my lips. Seriously, I only get about two hours from it, tops, which pales in comparison to the wear time of my standby clear gloss, MAC Clear Lipglass.
Ingredients: Hydrogenated Polyisobutene, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Polyethylene, Flavor (Aroma), Tocopheryl Acetate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter),Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, Water (Aqua), Honey Extract, Atelocollagen, Sodium Saccharin, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sodium Chondroitin Sulfate, Butylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol
The price ($23) seems high, especially next to $14.50 MAC Clear. Clear, however is quite sticky, so if you prefer a clear gloss that’s non-sticky and smooth, Becca Lip Plumping Moisture Gloss could be your girl. 🙂
PRICE: $23

Thanks for the Becca product reviews! I’ve just started getting into the brand, starting with the SSP in Opal. Do you have any must-have products from Becca (not including lipsticks)?

Thanks for the review! Too bad it doesn’t plump The price is pretty hefty too 🙂

Yeah, that is quite a bit for a clear gloss. I have a $1 from Wet n Wild, and that works okay for me.

I do love the Becca reviews as well! So far just have the SSP in Gold. I am interested in the eye and lip/cheek tints. I do like the brush applicator on this one though!

Honestly, I never get anything from plumpers. I might try Clear Lipglass, though.

What is a good lip plumper? Preferably one not too expensive.

your lucky its only $23, if i wanted to buy it in Oz its $42. I just don’t understand why we have to pay so much for cosmetics here when our dollars are pretty much the same? any old loreal gloss costs upwards of $20 here so i guess price is relative and politicians keep complaining that we are not supporting our own economy by buying from America (which i do all the time, why should i pay double for the same thing).

i really am forgetful about reapplying gloss/lipstick so i like the longer wearing ones. this wont work for me.
