MAC’s Put a Spell on You Pink lip bag, part of the Magic, Mirth, and Mischief! holiday collection, makes lip color dreams come true. For just $36, you get a full-size Dazzleglass in Baby Sparks (light pink with sparkles), a full-size Dream lipstick (pearly beige-pink), and a small Dervish lip liner (a neutral-toned pink with flecks of subtle shimmer) — all squeezed into a cute metallic silver bag. Better still, the colors look great on all skin tones.
I have a beauty confession to make… Before purchasing this bag, I never wore lip liner. Not once. I hate the typical lip liner look, with a harsh line circling the mouth and a too-light lipstick or gloss filling in the lips, but I promise you, this bag will NOT give you that look.
The tried-and-true trio of lipstick, lip liner and gloss may seem like a no-brainer, but they can be worn together in surprisingly different ways. Below is my favorite look.
Substitutes
Dervish lip pencil and Baby Sparks Dazzleglass are part of MAC’s permanent collection. They can be recreated with other colors as well like…
- Dervish lip liner: This is a permanent item, but can be substituted for Whirl lip pencil on darker skin tones.
- Dream lipstick: Angel, Bombshell, Politely Pink or Lovelorn lipstick
- Baby Sparks Dazzleglass: Also a permanent item, but can be replaced with Cultured or Nymphette Lipglass if you want less shimmer.
Sculpted Smoocher
I have a very small mouth, and being fair-skinned, my lips basically disappear without lip color. Since I love dark eyes, I tend to wear lighter colors, but sometimes I need something more to make myself look like my mouth exists at all. Put a Spell on You Pink is the perfect solution for those times when I need definition without being hit over the head with color.
1. Trace the outline of lips with Dervish liner.
2. Starting at the outer corners, thicken the line at the edges, thinning the line as you extend up to cupid’s bow. Leave the center of the lip bare. Repeat on the bottom.
3. Fill in the entire lip with Dream lipstick.
4. Dot Baby Sparks Dazzleglass on the center of the lips to give the illusion of a fuller mouth.
Voila! A sculpted mouth without harsh lines. 🙂
If you don’t need as much sculpting, try the traditional route and outline your lips with Dervish. Soften the effect by running a lip brush over the edges to blend the lines. Your lips will look defined and polished, but nobody will be able to tell you’re wearing lipliner.

I just wore this set to work! It really is full of the perfect pink shades. Especially when you want something in the middle; not too bright, but still noticeable. Love it and would totally recommend it! Now to figure out what to do with the cute little clutch it came in..
