Try to ignore for a second the bright lips in this pic (it’s Kat Von D Bachelorette), and focus instead on the hair.
The hurr!
Note how well-behaved it is…like a previously unruly child who gets suddenly very still and quiet when you mention taking her to Baskin-Robbins if she stops misbehaving.
It’s been raining more or less non-stop here for more than a week, and that means high humidity, which in turn usually means horrendous frizz.
But a few products from Kerastase’s new Discipline Bain Fluidealiste anti-frizz line are helping to keep my hair from throwing any wild fits.
Bain Fluidealist is Kerastase’s new line of products to smooth hair and keep it looking sleek in high humidity, and I’ve been using Bain Fluidealiste shampoo ($39), Fondant Fluidealiste conditioner ($42) and Fluidissime anti-frizz heat protection and shine spray ($42).
You know the phrase, “Go big or go home”? Well, when it’s humid or raining outside, my hair’s mantra is “Go big and get frizzy.”
The trio of Bain Fluidealist products I’ve been using ensures that my strands stay in their designated driving lanes. Plus, it adds shine and smoothness.
The line is designed for all hair types, but you may want to exercise caution if you have very fine hair, or if you’re otherwise concerned with volume, because the products do seem to weigh down my hair a little…which shouldn’t be a problem if your hair likes to expand into neighboring galaxies when it’s raining or humid.
Kerastase is known for their heavily scented products, and these items definitely do have a strong, perfume-like scent.
But I like it. It smells a little like warm vanilla mixed with freesia to me. 🙂
If you need help taming your tresses and controlling frizz in humid weather, you can find all three Bain Fluidealist products now at salons and online.
I wait all year long for this!
I know it looks like a scoop of nasty Pepto-Bismol ice cream, but this stuff is SO GOOD.
It’s Baskin-Robbins peppermint ice cream, and despite the fact that my brain thinks it looks totally disgusting, my brain also thinks it’s super delicious. 🙂
I’m not really even a mint person either… Mint usually make me feel like I’m brushing my teeth, but I sure love this.
One day back in high school my friend Jen practically forced me to try it, telling me that I’d like it if I could get over how it looks, and she was totally right.
It’s like eating a really cold, creamy candy cane. Try it sometime!
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

This line sounds like it was made for me! I’m waiting for it to pop up in stores here!
May says
Divya, which part of India are you from?
Tawni @ Haphazard Notions says
Sounds amazing! (both the Kerastase and the Baskin Robbins)
May says
Karen do you have any recommendations for curly hair?
Hugs from the Great Up North!
Karen says
Hi May!
I do. What type of product are you looking for?
Alyssa Melanie says
I’m sorry Karen, I just couldn’t help but focus on that bright lip color! lol
Anyways, your “hurr” always looks great. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Alyssa,
LOL, I know it’s very eye catching. I will have a review of it up soon!
Happy Thursday to you, and have a great day. 🙂
Alyssa Melanie says
Can’t wait for your review. Have a good one, too! xo

Great hair, but as mine is very, very, very fine, I don’t think it would work for me.
I love anything minty, like After Eight, or the new peppermint-chocolate-tea my mother gave to me last weekend. Too bad there is no Baskin Robbins anywhere near, I would be all over it.
Karen says
Yeah, the shampoo and conditioner might be too much weight for you then. If you have access to the spray you might want to still give it a go — when I use it by itself it’s not heavy at all. Lots of shine and smoothness, and it smells great.
That tea sounds interesting! I’ve never had peppermint chocolate tea before. Do you drink it plain or add cream and sugar?
LindaLibraLoca says
I´ll have it with sweetener (I use Stevia), but no cream. It is part black/part green, and I don’t like green tea with cream.
Kiss & Make-up says
I got 99 problems but frizz ain’t one. That ice cream though, mmmmm!
Karen says
It looks gross but it is SO good. Do you guys have peppermint ice cream in your country? I think it needs to become a global phenomenon.
Kiss & Make-up says
You think it looks gross? I think it looks delish! I don’t think I’ve ever tasted peppermint ice cream. The weirest ice cream flavor I’ve had was probably green tea flavor, in Japan. Wasn’t a big fan.
Kim says
Kerastase is always too heavy for my hair – it makes it feel like I’ve tried to wash with vaseline. That said, it’s fabulous for thick/curly hair!
Yeah, I’m sorry, I thought your post was going to be about the lipstick when I saw the pic. 🙂
Do you guys have Ben & Jerry’s ice cream in your area? It’s very big here but we’re right on the VT border, near where it originated.
Karen says
We do! It’s sold in stores and there’s also a shop about 15 mins away from my house. I like their ice cream but sometimes I get over-stimulated by the complexity of the flavors. Is that crazy? When I read the flavor descriptions it’s like they throw in everything and then some. Is there a flavor that you particularly like?
Kim says
I agree 100%. I’m not too ice-creamy but I like the simple stuff. Their Pistachio is very good and I also like the Cherry Garcia (but I pick out the chocolate chunks). If I was making my own favorite, I’d do it Neopolitan/Spamoni style with Pistachio, Vanilla and Cherry (minus choco chunks).
My mom’s neighbor works there and brings her pints all the time so the Hubs and kids get to try flavors that are definitely mind-boggling! They have a Salted Caramel Core that might be up your alley. Also, Hazed and Confused has a chocolate/hazelnut core that people compare to Nutella. 🙂

OMG, nooooooo! I’ve been fighting the need to purchase this for the past few weeks. I know Kerastase is supposed to be amazing for your hair, but I’m a big proponent of “the more shampoo/conditioner you use, the better it works,” so I shouldn’t go dropping $40 a pop on hair products. lol
Erin says
I’m always about anti frizz helpers, especially now that I live 5 minutes from the ocean!

Your hair always looks so amazing * swoon *
