Tonight, in Urban Legends of the Beauty World…
Long, long ago in a town, far, far away, a girl did something unfathomable!
It was the night of the big winter semi-formal, and she was getting ready at home. Her date — a cutie, of course — was on his way to pick her up, but her hair was a frizzy mess.
Ding-dong! The doorbell rang downstairs.
In a moment of random panic/fortuitous kismet, the girl grabbed an old dryer sheet from the trash and ran it over the top layers of her hair.
Miraculously, her wild, wayward strands were smoothed! Huzzah!
Or so the story goes…
Well, Kerastase is taking that idea and making it less MacGyver-ish, and more hair-friendly, with their new fancy-schmancy Carre Lissant Hairstyle Touch-Up Sheets ($28.50 for a box of 50).
They’re basically the same idea. Each sheet contains a waxy-feeling, smoothing product to fix fly-aways and frizz, but instead of scenting your mop with Eau de Snuggle Bear, they leave behind a soothing lavender fragrance.
When my hair looks cray, which has been happening a lot lately thanks to the constant breezy drizzle outside, I grab a sheet from the box and run the waxy side down the top layers of my hair from mid-shaft to the ends, and then along the side-swept sections that had once upon a time been bangs (um…someone desperately needs a trim!).
One sheet sufficiently smoothes things down and tames my frizz, but a word o’ warning: the sheets do tend to deflate hair volume, so you may need/want to do some extra fluffing and scrunching when you’re done.
Also, avoid your roots if you’re on day three (or four or five) of a blowout, because the sheets add some shine, and if your hair is already a little oily, you could end up looking like you’re wearing a bucket of KFC…
The box is small enough to fit into the palm of my hand or a medium-sized purse, so it’s good for travel, and if you were going to use something smaller like a clutch, you could always leave the box at home and bring one or two sheets with you in a plastic bag.
These totally work. I wouldn’t exclusively rely on them to eliminate frizz, but they’re convenient for anti-frizz touchups. A box of 50 sheets is $28.50. Available now at Kerastase counters and online.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. Happy hump day, fellow frizz fighter! 🙂
Kiss & Make-up says
Huh O_O I am officially intrigued, what a neat little product.
Karen says
Right?! I wouldn’t be surprised if more knock-offs start showing up on shelves soon. It’s really cool and kind of innovative… Although I suppose one could always use a real deal dryer sheet. LOL!
Happy Wednesday to ya! Are you having a good week so far? Mine has been OK. It’s been super sunny here in the Bay Area and El Hub and I are prepping for our Thanksgiving meal tomorrow.
Kiss & Make-up says
Yeah, I’ve had a pretty good week, nothing out of the ordinary happened. We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here. Wishing you and your family a lovely day today!
Agata says
What an interesting product. I could use some of these sheets, my hair is frizzy 90% of the time and pretty dry!
Karen says
My hair has the frizzy thing down pat too, LOL. Although I do have to say that I’m glad that the whole textured/wavy trend is big now, because when my hair frizzes out I can just say it’s “textured” on purpose! 😀
Are you guys all ready for Thanksgiving?! Our fridge is currently filled with food that I can’t wait to eat. OM NOM NOM!
Agata says
My hair is really wavy without styling it but even then I can’t pretend like it’s a trend I’m going for because it’s just a mess! Lol
I have to work tomorrow till 5pm. My sister in law is hosting a dinner this year and it was great last year so I’m looking forward to it. My husband is smoking a turkey breast and unfortunately I don’t have time to make anything.
Are you hosting dinner tomorrow? Are you having people over?
Karen says
Oh, I remember your T-day dinner last year! Is this the sister that you were worried couldn’t cook?
Agata says
Yes, that’s her! And actually she did a really good job last year so everyone is expecting the same this year, lol.
Karen says
That sounds like fun. Will you be cooking anything?
LindaLibraLoca says
Funny thought, running those sheets over your hair.
As my hair is very fine, it is easily weighted down, so they may not be perfect for me.
I guess I have to face the fact that my dry ends are far from saving and go for a cut, but I am in denial…
Karen says
Hi LindaLibraLoca!
I think you’d be ok. Just use them on the mid-shaft and ends, and then be sure to give your hair a gentle tousle to pump up the volume a bit.
I hope that you and Little Bean are doing great. We’re prepping here for Thanksgiving tomorrow and I seriously am counting down the seconds, LOL! There’s a pecan pie in the fridge with my name on it!

I need something like this to tame the head of frizz I have. It seems no matter what I do, the frizz always comes out the winner!

Karen says
Hi Jenny,
I feel ya. What products are you currently using to tame the frizz?
Amy says
Seems like these might be good for taming static fly-aways, too. I know drier sheets will work on staticky clothing…
Karen says
Hi Amy,
Yes, they are!
Happy Wednesday to ya. Are you ready for Thanksgiving?
Erin says
I was wondering when someone would capitalize on this!
Katherine T. says
Karen, can these sheets be re-used a few times? Or is it one-use only?
Marina(Makeup4all) says
Oh my goodness, I did not even know these existed. And the fact that they work, wow!
