Wearing the new Too Faced Cosmetics Shadow Bon Bons Palette
My sweet tooth is absolutely thrilled with all the action it’s seen lately!
What started innocently enough with a batch of Toll House cookies but then rapidly progressed to a box of custom made MBB cupcakes has mutated, yet again, into makeup. My maniacal sweet tooth is so…maniacal that it can no longer tell the difference between real bonbons and the new Too Faced Shadow Bon Bons eye palette ($42).
If I don’t get a handle on this soon, I’m either going to end up in the emergency room with a doctor asking me, “So why were you eating makeup?” or replace my entire wardrobe with stretchy pants.
Blast you, Too Faced!
Scrumptiously sweet, this indulgent holiday kit of 12 powder eyeshadows, one full-size Lashgasm Mascara and one sample-sized tube of Candlelight Shadow Insurance is not just low-cal (no cal?). It’s also convenient as heck. It gives you the option of going subtle with neutrals like brown, beige and peach, or going buck wild with purple, pink and black smokey sass.
More often now that it’s fall, I’ve been getting the urge to eat my feelings wear purple smokey looks, and a lot of the time when it happens, I reach for Bon Bons.
Here, let me give you the recipe.
Just pat Candlelight primer all over your lids, sprinkle one (or two or three) of Bon Bon’s yummy chocolate or caramel browns on your lids and in the crease, add a dash of purple directly on top of your neutrals and a dollop of mascara on your upper and lower lashes.
Chill before serving…
Okay, not really. It’s ready to go right there! — and the look lasts all day long with barely any fading or creasing.

Shadow Bon Bons
Cook’s tip: remember to tap your eye brush against the edge of the sink (or run it along a tissue/paper towel) before applying these shadows; otherwise, you might wind up with some fallout on your cheeks and beneath your eyes.
Yep, I love the sweet color treats in this kit, and what a great mix of colors. Even with a little bit of fallout and the cute, but oh-so-hard-to-keep-clean velvet case, I think it’s still a win.
PRICE: $42 (a $147 value!)
AVAILABILITY: Available now at Sephora and Ulta stores, and toofacedcosmetics.com

Lips like sugar…
While you beautiful ’80s babies out there were probably gnawing on your binky when Lips Like Sugar by Echo and the Bunnymen was getting airtime on the radio, I was making mix tapes (actual tapes, like on a tape deck) for my crush, Jake Ryan.
If this is your first time hearing this song, welcome to the soundtrack of my most awkward years!

Uh, oh… I feel an ’80s dance montage coming on! Now I gotta cut loose…
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
I am totally in love with that palette. The colors you chose look great on you.
Thanks, Kirsten! The colors I used (just in case you want to do the look too) are Lovey Dovey, Framboise and Peach Fuzz.
Too bad about the fallout, but I have to say the colors look good.

It’s there, but it isn’t too bad. You just have to be really good about tapping your brush off.
It’s so beautiful! I need it in my life
Yeah, this is a really pretty one. Do you have any other Too Faced pieces on your holiday list, Mandy?
Wow do these look gorgeous on you. I don’t always have luck with their palettes, but this does look pretty.
Hi KPrice,
Thanks, hon! Not sure if you’re a Too Faced fan, but have you tried their new lipsticks yet? They’re really good!
No way!! I am wearing this look to work tomorrow. The box looks extravagant.

Let me know how it turns out! I used Lovey Dovey, Framboise and Peach Fuzz.
I’m quite excited about the Too Faced Holiday collection! They really sparked my interest lately, something that I lost a bit this year. I looove the neutrals here!

Yeah, me too! It’s a perfect mix, and the purples add some sass.
Judging from the name I thought these shadows would be more colorful and bright. But I actually like them better like this.

Me too! It’s a very sweet palette.
When im channel surfing and see Sixteen Candles on, I have to stop and watch it.
I want that palette soooo bad!
Its so pretty!
Doesn’t it seem like it’s ALWAYS on tv? Both that movie and The Breakfast Club.
Yes, its always on, and its awesome!
omg, it’s so pretty!! i’ll definitely need to check it out AND try your eyeshadow combo!!
Yay, try it! I think you will like it.
OMG you make it look so easy! I love the look on you but I am so eye shadow challenged I’m not sure I would know what to do with all those colors! I am so into purple shadows though… LOVE them with brown eyes!

Hi Jennifer,
This is actually really easy. It’s just a purple and brown with a bit of peach to highlight the brow bone and inner corner.
I love To Faced palettes, so I’m definitely getting this one. I do notice some fallout from their shadows so i usually apply my eye makeup baaefore foundation. Then i’ll use a makeup remover wipe to clean up any fallout.
Back in the day, i used my tape deck to record my favorite songs from the eadii.
Oops, that last word should be radio! Trying to type from my phone!
That happens to me all the time, no worries! Silly auto correct.
Hi Ruchita,
I think I ended up doing that with this palette. Have you tried the Lashgasm mascara? It’s really good!
And LOL…I still have many of the mix tapes I made back in the day.
What a beautiful palette. The shadows really look great on your eyes. Nice swatches too.

Wow this palette looks really nice! Would you recommend this over the Naked or Naked 2 for neutrals?
What a pretty palette. I love the look you did with it, it really suits you.

I really love how they’re divided up. Seems like you could create simple looks just going across in horizontal lines!

Framboise is lovely!
This palette is really cute… I have the Fairyland palette from a few years back. It has some nice colors in it, but the pigmentation is just a little lacking.

I recently picked up their holiday sweet indulgence set because i thought it was the best deal, this was my first too faced purchase and I am in love with their eyeshadows. I’ve seen your other post on the rest of the sets I want to get my hands on another one because they look like pretty good deals, which on do you recommend?
This palette is so pretty, I’ll definitely be getting it for framboise and nude beach, love the metallic/ frost finish. Wish the primer was full sized instead of the mascara, but who am i kidding I have enough primer potion to last me until.. hmm the end of time. Thank you for reviewing it.
This post informed my buying decisions ( yay! ) and made me laugh and go a bit nostalgic! ( double yay! ) I think I need: this palette, a John Hughes movie, and to find all my mixed tapes- probably in that order too
. Thanks again.
Getting this !
