As a busy woman with about a bazillion bits and bobs on her to-do list, I greatly appreciate products that help me save time when I’m getting ready in the morning. Products like the three new dual-tipped I-Sculpt Shadow and Liner sticks ($17 each) from JK Jemma Kidd.
Convenient! Just line with the slanted side, flip, and pat some shadow on your lids with the sponge tip applicator on the other end.
BAM! Ready in a flash, like a covert cosmetics ninja with a secret beauty weapon.
Thanks to the purple Shadow and Liner duo, codename Kings Rd (pretty!), I actually had a few extra minutes of free time this morning to spend on other things…
Like practicing jazz hands…
And listening to a few more songs on iTunes…
Apparently, I listen to a LOT of Sheryl Crow
And having an extra cup of green tea (sipped through a straw, of course)…
And taking Tabs outside for an unscheduled photo shoot (and snapping pics of him while Informer bumped in the background)…
Licky-boom-boom-down!
Because the texture of the eyeliner is quite hard, I ended up having to use several layers to reach a level of opacity I liked. Then, I patted the shadow side directly on my lids with the applicator sponge.
It’s a different look for me and not something I’m used to; very rock ‘n roll — messy, and a little undone, like Kesha (or maybe Alice Cooper in his heyday). Altogether, even with the multiple eyeliner layers, it only took a couple of minutes to do.

Unfortunately, the look didn’t last much longer than the song did before I started to notice some creasing. I’m serious. We’re talking no more than 5 minutes.
Hmm…
Maybe it was due to the heat today; my normally dry lids have been a little oilier than usual, but I don’t know… If you’ve given these a try, I’d love to hear your results.
Jemma, guuuuurl, I applaud your intentions, and I think you did a great job with these colors and the sleek, convenient packaging, but for reasons unknown, I-Sculpt doesn’t last on my lids for squat.

i love the look of pic #1, good color, sucks that it didn’t last long on your face!. i LOOOVE your hair

Mary Q looks like a gorgeous combo, but it sucks that it didn’t last long on your lids. It probably won’t stand a chance on my lids without some good priming first.

Is it wrong that your crease-y experience has me wanting to check these out? 😛 I feel like shadows which work really well on your lids (Benefit CC, for instance) crease really quickly on mine, and vice-versa – I remember being SO surprised that you didn’t like Clinique’s Lid Smoothies; I can get over twelve hours with ’em!
Hmm, I wonder if I could find these anywhere in Canada…

In theory, this would have been great because we get 2 products in one, but it sucks that it’s fail. 🙁
On the plus side, there’s a cool new photo of Tabs! Hi Tabs!

Haha!! I love the jazz hands, classic!

Well, thanks, Karen… I was JUST getting Informer out of my head and then you had to take me back to it again!
I do love these colors, it’s a shame about the lack of endurance.
Love taking a look at your playlist. I’ve got Timbaland and Natasha Bedingfield as two of my ever rotating ring tones. I saw Sheryl Crow perform a couple of years ago when she made it up here to Sonoma County. She puts on a great show and I had really great seats (hello, fourth row!). It’s always interesting to see what people look like that we only see on video. She is TINY! Much shorter than I imagined.

True that. I once saw Liz Phair walking through the airport in Las Vegas and was surprised by how small she was. Power to the petite ladies!
Are you enjoying this lovely weather? Tomorrow it’s supposed to cool down, boo!
Heidi says
The beginning of the week was a bit too hot for my taste, but yesterday and today were just lovely. I would like it to last as long as possible.

speaking of messy — that is my current eyeliner obsession. i line my eyes haphazardly then smudge it w/ a 219 brush or a qtip.

Boy, you had some divine inspiration yesterday. I love the jazz hands! Other things to love: Sheryl Crow, Elton John’s Your Song (always reminds me of Moulin Rouge.. sigh), Informer (coincidentally, I also sang Licky, Boom, Boom, Down before I read the caption) and Alice Cooper. I guess the only thing not to like is the wear time on this JK liner/shadow. What a bummer.
Did you ever see Straw Dogs? The reviews haven’t been great but it still has the A. Skars factor. 🙂 Hope you have a great weekend!!

You look pretty Karen, especially your hair…Fab! Love the jazz hands pose 🙂

Boo, crappy wear time. It looked nice in the photos, though!
Also, yay for Elton John and “Valerie!” The acoustic version of “Valerie” (B-side to Back to Black) is apparently my 7th most played song.

I know this is off topic, but I love that scarf. Where did you get it?

It looks like Tabs is doing jazz hands as well.
It’s too bad about this product b/c I love the idea of it- I’m all about convenience.
