It’s a Sheer Thing With the Jouer SPF 15 Lip Sheers

Next on the itinerary: Capri, St. Tropez, St. Barths and Positano. But these aren’t our upcoming destinations (I wish!). They’re the four smooth and moisturizing SPF 15 Lip Sheers from Jouer ($22 each).

Sans a scent or flavor, these radiant lipsticks do more for lips than meets the eye. Not only do they impart sheer color and a light touch of shine, they also soften lips and lock in moisture, thanks to vitamin E and aloe vera.

I’m always struggling with dry lips and fighting flakes, so I appreciate the fancy formula.

Would have been even cooler if I didn’t have to reapply it every couple of hours…but things could be worse. After all, it could be drying. :)

These remind me of sheerer Chanel Rouge Coco Shines love with the light rose scent and faint vanilla flavor removed, and $10 chopped off the price.

Although Jouer can be a tough line to track down (as far as I know, it’s only carried in two places in the U.S., at the Henri Bendel store in New York City and the Skins 6|2 store inside The Cosmopolitan hotel in Las Vegas), it is sold online.

And it might be worth the effort to locate on your next visit to New York or Las Vegas, especially if you like makeup from boutique lines and prefer lipsticks that combine sheer color and SPF (in this case, SPF 15).

I like the Jouer brand… It’s high end, and because it’s not carried everywhere, a little exclusive. Nothing flashy here. Just really pretty makeup.

PRICE: $22 each
AVAILABILITY: Limited availability in stores, but it is available online

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

Karen

P.S. Ah… I’m in that post-decadent dinner phase in my pajamas on the couch. I had salmon and rice for din-din, and now I’m just waiting for a movie rental to download. Have you seen Martha Marcy May Marlene? Rottentomatoes says it’s a “powerful psychological thriller.”

I like the sound of that. :)

Are you out and about tonight or taking it easy at home? Tabs says hi.

Capri is beautiful, and one of my favourite travel destinations, so a totally valid reason to see if they ship to Canada.
Also, Karen you look so pretty and fresh in green! It makes me want spring even more after dealing with today’s blizzard.
I hope the movie was good, and you had a lovely evening in!

I like how you think, Bronwyn!

Sooo… the movie was just okay. It was kind of a letdown after renting Take Shelter last week, which was so good.

What are you up to today? Hope whatever it is that you get a chance to relax.

      • Bronwyn says:

Gotta incorporate everything that makes me happy when makeup is involved! Otherwise my purchases would be terrifying… Student budget says NO. haha

Oh, that is disappointing. Take Shelter was good? I must check it out then! I love scary movies and thrillers, there just so much fun.

Making pie for the weekly family get together, I’m determined to bring more summer into this dreary weekend. Lemon pie and whipped cream ought to do it.

  2. Naomi says:

These remind me of the Clinique almost lipsticks!

I really like St. Tropez! Cat (My cats name is cat. original I know) says hi!! :)

  4. There have been SO many lipsticks along this line on the market recently. I do love them but the choices get a bit mind-boggling!

We went out for sushi on Saturday night, and then watched Puss in Boots at home lol. It’s great for a night in :)

  5. S. says:

Karen I love your blog but I hate the fact that I can’t find a lot of the brands you mention in Italy :(
This product is something I’d like to try!
Hope you’re having a wonderful day xx

I like the look of St Tropez and Capri. Dude, Vegas might be far, but I would definitely drive 4 hours for a weekend, and maybe “stumble” upon the store with my hubby ;)
