Wearing Paul & Joe Blusher Stick in Minou on my cheeks and Glamour Puss on my upper cheekbones
Apparently, the recipe for shifting one’s crazy cat lady levels from relatively normal to full-on insane calls for kitties, blush, top hats and bow ties. Thank you, Paul & Joe, for unleashing this knowledge unto the world! Now, armed with your new Blusher Sticks ($28 each), I can realize my true CCL potential. 🙂
Part cream blush, part art project, these three Blusher Sticks — matte pink Minou, matte orange Catfight and shimmery beige Glamour Puss — just might be the cutest pieces of makeup I have ever seen.
Released with the new Paul & Joe limited edition Kitten Collection, available now on counters and online, each stick is about the same size as a lipstick.

Wearing Paul & Joe Blusher Stick in Catfight on my cheeks and Glamour Puss on my upper cheekbones
I thought the two brighter shades looked wicked scary in their tubes, but I was surprised to see them apply surprisingly sheer. I’ve been using between 2-4 layers of each, depending on how intense I want my cheek color.
As for the lighter shade, Glamour Puss, I’ve been wearing it as a highlighter on my upper cheekbones and have been doing my darnedest to protect the cat design at the top of the stick (I can’t help it!), so I grab color from the back of the stick by swiping it against my cheek, and then blend out the edges with a finger.
Layers seem to bring out the best in these kitties. 🙂 Texture-wise, they remind me a lot of the NARS Multiples, with a similarly thin, dry texture. When I apply them atop foundation followed by a matching powder blush, I get about six hours of color; worn without the powder, though, I get from 2-4.
And I probably won’t be wearing these alone again on bare skin, because when I did, they disappeared in about an hour.
For a sheer, natural-looking cheek, I think these are as fun as felines. I just wish they lasted a little longer without requiring multiple layers.
If you do decide to adopt some of these but can’t bear to destroy the kitty designs, they’d make awfully adorable creative displays…perhaps under a small glass dome, like this one from Pottery Barn.
PRICE: $36 each

With these blusher sticks so cute and detailed, I dont know if I would want to use them even after buying them.
Karen says
How about for a display then? 🙂
Trisha says
OMG…that’s just about the cutest blush ever invented. And…the top hat and bow tie really makes the outfit. 😉
I’m curious to see what they look like now that you’ve used them. A sad kitty massacre, probably.
Karen says
They still look really cute! I’m trying not to grab product from the top — just the back.
Trisha says
Smart! No kitty massacres today. 😀
Telma Micheloto says
I got the Minou blush, I’m thinking about getting the highlighter Glamour Puss while it’s still available.
Everything is almost sold out in many of the websites I saw so far! The Cinamon pressed powder is impossible to find anywhere, are you going to review it?
xoxo

Oh, nice. Let me know what you think about it after you get it.
As for Cinnamon, yes! I’m going to test it today. 🙂
tiffany says
they look great on you – very glowy! but yeah, it would be so hard to mess up the pretty design!
Karen says
I already nicked one of the kitties ears, wah!
How’s your Friday going? It’s not even noon yet and I’m ready for it to be over, LOL!
tiffany says
yup, same here! ready for it to be over!!
Karen says
What are you doing this weekend? I have grand plans to sleep.
tiffany says
prob just taking care of my baby/dog/in-laws. this job should pay better, lol 🙂
might grab lunch with my mom one day. maybe a birthday party sat night.
Emi at Project Swatch says
2-4 hours of wear is not so good, and I don’t think I could bear to mess up the cuteness. So, I’ll be passing on these – I might still pick up the kitty pawprint lipstick though, or the eyeshadow/highlighter things. Those seem more worth it to me, since they stay looking cute with wear!
Karen says
It doesn’t last long as some cream blushes, but some people don’t mind reapplying. I guess it really depends on whether or not you want to touch up during the day.
Jian says
They look very pretty on you! Clever way of not ruining the design as well! But on the other hand the first thing that sprung to mind was that after quite a few uses the back will be worn down in a cheek-shape! It would look most strange! Hahaha…
Karen says
I thought of that too, LOL! It’s better than ruining the kitty head!
Jian says
P.S. thank you for the heads up about the staying power of it worn alone!
Karen says
You’re welcome, Jian! Happy Friday!
Rita says
The Catfight looks lovely! Don’t know if I can say “can’t wait to try mine”, because I don’t know if I’m going to use it! (Maybe I get a backup?)
gio says
These are the cutest blushes I’ve ever seen and they look so pretty on you! I don’t think I’d have the heart to use them though.
Nina says
catttsssssss!!!! i must have these, y’know? 😀
Kim says
TGIF! 🙂
These look so natural and glowy on you! I was surprised by how orange Catfight looked in your wrist swatch – but it’s not at all that way on your cheek. It just looks like a really pretty flush.
Minou makes me smile as a name. We’re just south of Quebec so there is a lot of French around. One of my best friends has a kitty named Minou and my neighbor greets every cat with a sweet “minou, minou…” (like you, using a higher pitched voice that’s reserved for the kitties).
Chelsea says
These are so adorable! I would never pay that much for it, but fun to look at!
Plus I wouldn’t want to ruin the cute little kitty face and kitty top hat.
Sunny @ Mostly Sunny says
My heart would be broken if I had to use these, but they look nice on you!
corallista says
these are so cute and I love the colors too! At first I’d thought these were lipsticks, its too bad the kitty pattern would wear off with use though.
artemis says
the glass dome idea is cute
🙁 too bad the kittens wear off so fast but they’re so pretty 😀 i’d probably wanna buy the light one to use as a highlight if they existed here hehe
siwa says
Hi,
I’d like to know the kitty blusher can I use like a lipstick ?
Kimberly says
I finally got my kitty Glamour Puss!!! It is great as a highlighter and yes I have been doing the exact same thing using it from the back avoiding the adorable kitten and I think I just might go to using a small brush instead of my bare cheek or finger and hopefully it will last me longer and avoid it from getting in a weird “cheek shape” in the back.
