I wanna rock right now.
I’m K-Dog and I came to get down.
My cat’s internationally known,
And he’s known to rock the microphone.
‘Cause I get stupid, I mean outrageous,
My love for UD Naked2 is contagious.
These shadows are winners, no, they’re not losers,
With 12 shades total for every neutral user.
Ladies love it, girls adore it,
I mean even the ones who never saw it like…
The way that the shades just flow.
The reason why, UD steals the show,
So let’s go, ’cause…
It takes Naked2 to make a thing go right…
It takes Naked2 to make it outta sight.
Lip Junkie gloss in Naked
Swatches from the left: Foxy, Half Baked, Booty Call, Chopper, Tease and Snake Bite
Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted and Blackout
The Urban Decay Naked2 Palette in a Nutshell
- What you get: 12 powder shadows (five new shades and seven repromotes), one dual-tipped Good Karma Shadow/Crease Brush, one mini-Lip Junkie Gloss in Naked
- What it’s for: For use as a standalone palette, or as a sister palette to the original Naked Palette
- What you should know: At least to me, the brush feels a little stiff, but it blends shadows like a magician. The Lip Junkie Gloss, I could do without (too minty and sticky), but I love, LOVE the shadows. They exhibit no fallout and apply super smooth and pigmented. I can see myself hitting the pan on all of the new shades, especially Pistol and Snake Bite.
The Urban Decay Naked2 Palette: Breaking down the shades
- Foxy Eyeshadow: A matte creamy bisque with a matte finish (repromote)
- Half Baked Eyeshadow: A golden bronze with a shimmery finish (repromote)
- Booty Call Eyeshadow: A shimmery cork (new)
- Chopper Eyeshadow: A copper shimmer with silver micro glitter (repromote)
- Tease Eyeshadow: A creamy pale brown with a matte finish (new)
- Snake Bite Eyeshadow: A dark bronze shimmer with a metallic base (new)
- Suspect Eyeshadow: A pale golden beige with a shimmery finish (repromote)
- Pistol Eyeshadow: A light greyish brown with a shimmery finish (new)
- Verve Eyeshadow: An oyster with a shimmery finish (repromote)
- YDK Eyeshadow: A cool bronze shimmer with a metallic base (repromote)
- Busted Eyeshadow: A deep brown with a shimmery finish (new)
- Blackout Eyeshadow: A blackest black with a matte finish (repromote)
- Lip Junkie Lipgloss in Naked Eyeshadow: A sheer shimmery pinky neutral (repromote)

MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: A 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. I’ve got some looks lined up for this bad boy, so keep your engines revved.
Rads says
And I was pretty sure I won’t like this one 😐
Denise says
Wow, these look gorg! Thanks for the swatches Karen 🙂
Zeadelle says
OMG this is gorgeous more than its sister, the original naked palette! Wish they’d placed the primer potion rather thE lipgloss though
Sam says
Looking good Karen! Did you wear any lipstick in this look or was it just the gloss on its own?
Karen says
Hi Sam,
I think I had a little leftover Boots No7 Poppy King Lipstick beneath it. I’m gonna do a FOTD with just the gloss on its own soon. 🙂
Newsha says
You look amazing in your pictures! What blush are you wearing????
Karen says
Hi Newsha,
I’m wearing NARS Madly. It’s been my go-to blush as of late:

Tavi says
Just when I gave up on Naked palette #1 not having enough pretty brown colors that would show up on brown skin, they come up with palette #2, these colors look so pretty…
Tish says
I see there aren’t that many mattes in this. Bbbbuuuut… I’m still gon get it coz I collect UD palettes. Besides, I love neutrals. This will be a great addition to what I already have.
I seriously hope UD makes an all-matte palette soon. I would surely go bananas over it!
Adrienne says
I’ve been hoping for the same thing. I dont buy many cosmetics full priced lol, but that I would nab up in a hot second! I bought one of their discontinued matte shadows from their sale section online, and honest to god it’s the nicest feeling eyeshadow I’ve ever tried. Its soft, seriously packed with pigment, blends like butter, oooh. A palette of shadows like that would be a dream!
Diane says
Can’t wait to get my hands on the new Naked Palette! I have the original Naked and I love it. 🙂
Taryn says
I need this in my life. Looks to be the perfect palette for me. 🙂
Diana says
Love the packaging better than the first! I honestly don’t need any more neutral eyeshadows but it’s just so pretty! Plus it looks like less glittery colors which is a good thing in my book! I hardly used Creep and Gunmetal. Can’t wait to get it! Thanks for posting this Karen!
Alice says
How does it compare to the Naked 1? I’m curious to see how much difference there is between the two sets of eyeshadows…
It’s awesome, anyway!!!
Karen says
Hi Alice,
Here are comparison pics/swatches of the two side-by-side:
https://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/face-of-the-day-fotd/an-urban-decay-naked2-face-of-the-day-and-comparison-swatches-with-the-original-naked-palette/
HTH!
Jen says
It looks like a cooler version of the original Naked palette.
Katherine says
I was hoping they’d include moreee non-shimmery shades this time around!
Jean says
Karen!!! KAAARREEENN! THANK YOU thank you so much for sharing this!! I had no idea a second palette was going to be released! The color payoff is amazing and as always, you look great girlie!! Love this look and this palette. I really like the packaging better too. Amazing. NEED this!
Annie says
Hey Karen!!! So do you think this palette is worth it if you already have the first naked palette!
Karen says
Hi Annie,
I think it is. The colors (apart from Half Baked) are different enough to distinguish it from the first (there’s a lot of cool/neutral shades). I actually kinda like the new one even more because of the new colors, especially Pistol and Snake Bite. I’ve been wearing those a LOT!
Let me know if you have any other questions. Always happy to help!
Rita says
I don’t know if I need this. I have recently bought 6 palettes! And I haven’t used my Naked 1 a lot (well, that goes for most of my makeup). The new palette and color scheme seem better though.
Nikia says
Hey, Karen!! This palette looks lovely! How would you compare it to the original Naked palette as far as the colors and their consistency?
Karen says
Hi Nikia,
The biggest difference for me is the coolness of the colors. A lot of these shades lean cool, but at the same time they’re not so cool that warm gals like me will have trubs wearing it. The shadows generally are very butter and pigmented. I get a teensy tiny bit from Chopper, but I think that’s mainly because of the glitter flecks. Everything else is very solid, though.
Let me know if you have any other questions. 🙂
Nikia says
Thanks for the reply! I placed an order for it after trying for I don’t know how long because of the site’s high volume of traffic. The bad part is that I got the original palette just a few months ago, lol!!! I hope the colors aren’t too similar to the point where I’ll regret making this purchase 🙁
Becky says
I just put the Naked palette on my Christmas list and then they do this to me…maybe if I’m lucky Father Christmas will bring me both?! Haha!
Marina says
I like the shade Busted. For $50 (wonder how much it will cost in GBP) they could put all the new shades. The packaging is nice though.
Lily says
THANK YOU! You’re the first person with swatches and pictures! I need this in my life!
peach_ says
Thanks for the clear swatches, Karen! I’m torn about Naked 2 because of the cooler-toned shades, but of course, that’s a plus for those who found the original Naked too warm.
rose says
Karen,
I’m a long-time blurker and have commented a handful of times, but I had to let you know that I LOL’d when I read your rap. And then I had my husband rap it outloud for me. Brava, my friend! …Oh, and I love the swatches. Don’t know if I *need* it, but I have a strong *want* for it.
Karen says
Hi Rose,
Aww… a hubby that will rap a ditty from a makeup blog is a KEEPER! Hold onto that man! 😀
Roopa says
Hi Karen,
I have been a silent follower of ur blog for almost 2 years. I really love ur work and look forward to the Monday polls.
I donot have NAKED. In case, I have to choose between the 2, NAKED or NAKED2, which should I pick.
Regards
Roopa
Karen says
Hi Roopa,
Thanks for popping in to say hello!
I like both palettes and think they’re incredibly beautiful and practical. It really depends on what you want. Are you more of a cool- or warm- toned eyeshadow person? If you like cooler tones, Naked2 would probably be better for you. For warmer, the original Naked. Here are some swatches of the first palette so you can get an idea of the vibe:
https://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/product-reviews/its-official-im-getting-naked-with-urban-decay-this-fall/
xmissxandristx says
cannot wait to get this!
Kaybee says
Hi Karen! Thank you for the great post! I reposted some of your photos and product information onto my blog about the NAKED2 palette. Of course, I gave you full credit for them and linked your page. I hope that is okay! If not, feel free to send me an e-mail and I’ll take them down. I just wanted to make sure to let you know and run it by you 🙂
beautylogicblog says
wow I will be getting this. thanks karen
Marian says
Awwww….it looks awfully shimmery…too much so for me.
Angela G. says
I’m kinda torn on getting this palette. If I didn’t fall in love with the first collection, what makes me think I’ll like this one? Naked 1 is sitting around collecting dust, and I’ve only used it less than a hand full of times. I’m assuming maybe I’m not using them with a correct base cause I normally use MAC’s paint in Bare Canvas & paint pot in Painterly. With both bases the shadows didn’t look so well. I ended up being a hot shimmery mess. ::sigh:: Maybe I should just give in and use the primer potion instead??
Karen says
Primer Potion is good. I also love, LOVE NARS Pro-Prime:
https://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/cosmetics/nars-unsung-heroes-pro-prime-smudge-proof-eyeshadow-base/
Kelly says
I’m really liking that they added a double ended brush to the palette as well as a mini lip gloss! I told myself I wouldn’t buy makeup for myself this Xmas but I think that’s gonna change with this palette lol
Angelic Mariposa Ƹ̵̡Ӝ̵̨̄Ʒ says
OMG that was my JAM in HS!!! Right NOW…you’re about to be possessed by Urban Decay and the Naked 2 palette!! Your blog ROCKS!!
http://youtu.be/ebQ3MljuI58
Claud says
O_o I was just about to order the first Naked after so much hesitation (do I really need it? but it’s so beautiful!…)
And now this? Hum… back to the hesitation. (Which will it going to be? … do I really need it?)
Just wish they would have stick with the primer instead of adding a gloss to an eye palette…
NeutraKris says
I like the packaging, but I’m not wowed by the shades. I was expecting something different. :\
Caitlin says
I have always been a “flawless face” girl more than an “elaborate eye” girl. I just purchased the original Naked palette to explore some new territory, but I’m finding the shades to be so pink.. anyway looks like I will be skipping this new palette, although that brush seems pretty handy and I might pick up a couple of the individual shades if they are available. I was still kind of eyeing the Book of Shadows even though I definitely do not need it..
Chris25 says
I kinda like the original Naked palette better. But knowing my greedy, neutral shadow-loving self, I’ll probably wind up getting both. 😛
Karen says
You’re so funny! We’re like cat lady/neutral eyeshadows sorority sisters, LOL!
nlinton says
Dag-nabbit. Just yesterday I was saying, I don’t need anymore eyeshadows, and now this…I have the first Naked palette and I use it several times a week. Sigh. I don’t need the gloss but everything else seems so nice. Sigh. I need to think this over.
And Karen, between the old school Jay-Z/Foxy video (love that song) and busting out with It Takes Two, we are musical sisters. 🙂
Karen says
LOL, I’m gonna sound very “get off my lawn, you rotten kids,” but 90’s rap/hip hop was SOOOOO good!
nlinton says
Absolutely! And I think we are around the same age (I’m 36) and yes, that was a golden age of hip hop!
Oh and I’m gonna buy this, but we all knew that.
Erin says
Ah! Just waiting from that email from UD about purchase info!
Joyce says
Naked2 seems to lean more towards the cool side, compared to the original Naked palette. Thanx for the swatches as always. =)
Nina says
i LOVE the packaging on this one better than the first one (i have a thing against suede) …. but the colours seem similar to the first one, and a bit cool toned. not that i wont make them work, should i decide to grab this palette.
im still thinking. 🙂
Karen says
I had a psychic makeup feeling the suede wasn’t your thing. 🙂
I gotta say… Pistol is a ROCKING gray. You could rock that out in a hot second.
Nina says
i ordered it … mostly bec i fell in love with pistol, busted and tease! your swatches made my day, my decision and my wallet sad! LOL!
i usually run a piece of sandpaper over the velvet case of the naked 1 to clean it … yes i am ocd. and weird. (aka a sheldon as the hubs would say) …
Vanessa says
Karen I loved the rap – awesome!
Let says
Hmm I only like Chopper, Tease, and YDK… And I don’t even know how I’m going to use Booty Call (and maybe Foxy, to some extent).
Karen says
Hi Let,
You could use the domed side of the brush to apply it Booty Call on the brow bone to open up your eyes and make the brows pop. You could also apply it to the inner corners and lower lashline to brighten.
Let says
Hey Karen,
Thanks for the suggestion. 🙂 I have the original Naked palette and I haven’t even started using it (trying to use up Shag, Scratch, and Underground from Deluxe palette first haha). I will probably buy this Naked 2 after one or two years. Let’s hope UD doesn’t release another spawn of Naked palette by then 🙂
Stephanie P. says
Well, what a suprise I got to see this post. This looks great, and I want it. I guess I’ll put it on a Christmas list, but hopefully I don’t buy it for myself first.
Solangel says
Oooh! Karen, which palette do you recommend for an olive-skinned girl? I’d say I’m a MAC NC42/43. I’m really into the whole neutral eye thing lately, so I can’t really decide if I want the original or this one!
Karen says
Hi Solangel,
Both are really beautiful palettes. It really depends on what you want. The original Naked feels much more warmer, which could work with your olive skin well. Here are the swatches, in case you’re interested:
https://www.makeupandbeautyblog.com/product-reviews/its-official-im-getting-naked-with-urban-decay-this-fall/
This new one feels much more cooler/neutral. There are some really gorgeous shades though… I have similar coloring to yours, and several of the new colors seem to play really well with my skin, especially Snake Bite and Pistol!
There’s also packaging to consider. Naked2 is sturdier. If you plan on taking this palette with you in your purse/gym bag, then it might be a better choice.
HTH. Let me know if you have any other questions!
Solangel says
Thanks 😀
Jean says
Dang! I gotta adjust my wishlist!!
Jean says
I need this!!
Patricia says
More Expensive, more shimmer, not enough matte, glitter all over my face. Ok, it’s only 8 dollars more than the original price of Naked Palette 1 but still…I was hoping for more matte when I saw the first leaked photos.
Kim says
This is a really nice looking collection – and I love the case. Chopper is quite a looker, too. Can’t wait to see your collection of FOTDs!! 🙂
Karen says
Girlfriend, how was Disney?
Emma RZ says
I really like the palette, but I’m sure that I’ve got dupes for most of those colours and the price is a bit ouch – I’ve already spent far too much on makeup in the last 2 moths what with all the Sephora sales and what not. However, I kind of like the idea of having ALL the Naked palettes (UD and TF). I don’t mind the lipgloss (although it doesn’t make much sense) as I already have 3 sample UDPPs.
Viva says
I liked half-baked, snake bite and suspect!
Good for me that i like shimmery shadows too! 🙂
You always have such great pictures!
Thanks!
Karen says
Hi gals,
Quick update — the palette is available now online Urban Decay.
Jasmine says
Karen please reply…
Would this go with my NC37 skintone? 🙁
Karen says
Hi Jasmine,
Yes! You could totally rock this palette out.
Julianna says
I need this right-meow!!
Taylor says
I just bought the palette on Urban Decays website and thought maybe I purchased it to soon. The good ole impluse buy but after seeing the swatches you did I know I made the right choice. Sidenote: SInce I found your website Im broke all the time due to all the amazing things you suggest…haha
NeicyRox says
While I love the swatches, all props must go to the It Takes UD Naked2 lyrics!
HautePJ says
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Snakebite looks pretty. I hope these colors will be flattering on a NC50 gal like myself. Do you know when it might be available at Sephora? I’d rather buy it from there and bulk up my VIB points :).
Tania says
Oh how I love this one. Want it so badly. Hoping to get a sephora certificate for Christmas and hope they won’t sell out by then 🙂
Vonvon says
Chopper is such a gorgeous shade!
Nina says
its up online … and ive placed an order. so weak!
lexi says
I just placed an order for this – never been so excited to receive mail here at work!!
LRW says
I just ordered after seeing your swatches! I think I will like this as much as Naked 1,if not more! thanks for all the work you do getting all the latest and greatest reviews…I have especially loved your series, MAC Unsung Heroes 🙂
p.s. Karen..I am loving your hair!
Harshleen says
Gorgeous! Thanks for the awesome swatches Karen. My fav shades are same as yours…Pistol and Snakebite.
Amanda says
Just ordered it – can’t wait! Thanks so much for the awesome swatches and review!
Rachel says
Oh my goodness. I never that I would like another palette more than the original, but Naked2 might have it beat! I wish it switched out Half Baked for a different shadow, but I’m sure I’ll use it up nonetheless 😀
I was wondering, I like the case too, but does it feel sturdy? I feel like it can sometimes go both ways with those plastic cases…
Karen says
Hi Rachel,
Yes, it feels very sturdy, like it’s made out of tin or something. It should be able to withstand traveling well.
Let me know if you have any more questions. 🙂
Audrey says
OMG… is that a matte color I see that would be perfect for the browbone??? bc that is one thing always missing from awesome palettes that prevent it from being a onestop shop for me! I always want a matte cream color for my browbone and matte brownish shade for crease (Tease could work here).
MUST GET THIS!!!
Karen says
Yes, GURL! I’ve been alternating between Booty Call and Foxy on my brow bones. Both look great when applied with something like the 224.
Michelle H says
Ha! Love the shadows, love the pics, love the rap! Thanks for your post…Just ordered mine thanks to seeing this (and my email from UD!)
gio says
That’s a lovely palette but I like the first one better as I think the colors would suit me better. But thanks for the swatches.
DLAOKC says
Oh, my! I just love the original Naked palette… Now I’m craving this one.
Sarah says
Is this limited edition?
Shannon says
The colors are pretty but seem too similar to the original Naked.
Karen says
I’ve got side-by-side comparison pics here, just in case you’re interested:

Phyllis says
Thanks for the swatches Karen! Just ordered mine =)
Linda says
i wish they would include more cool toned shades in this one 🙁
Noelle says
I had a breakdown and purchased it. I was/am hesitant, but I will see once the actual product arrives.
Thanks for the swatches/updates Karen.
Nikia says
I was the same way. I bought the original palette a few months ago and was like, should I really get this? Lol. I went ahead and ordered it. I’ll compare the two once I get it.
Jen says
I got the email this morning and I’m so glad you already have a post and swatches! I need this. DROOL.
Tiff says
Oooo – love those colors! I like a little glitz with my neutrals.
Chezanne says
My husband just surprised me with a text of a screenshot of the order confirmation. Guess he was tired of hearing me talk about it! Either way I can’t wait to get it!
Karen says
Aww, that’s sweet. I’m still waiting for El Hub to buy me some makeup!!!
thepaigest says
Karen LUCKILY I read your blog today and I scored my naked 2 yay!! Thanks GIRRRR l 😉
Karen says
WOOO HOOOO! I can’t wait for you to get it. The first color you need to try on is Pistol!
Julliah says
I don’t have $50 but that looks AMAZING.
Kate & Zena says
You know what sucks? I have the Naked one, and even though it’s designed for warmer skin tones, I use that thing like it’s going out of style. UD FINALLY makes a palette designed for little me (she who has cool toned skin)….and I’m not liking it. I keep looking at it and thinking, “Nah, I want my Naked palette. This is yucky.” I think I need more convincing. I have a naked palette for the wrong skintone. XDDDDDDDD
Kate & Zena says
Well, maybe. I keep looking at this one and the more I look at it, the more I’m convinced it’s made for warmer skintones. I need to check this one out at a store.
Veneeta says
I got the email this morning from Urban Decay announcing this palette, but I live in Canada and Urban Decay does not ship here. I will have to wait for Sephora.
Thank you for showing the swatches, I love this palette. I get a lot of use from the first one, so I know I will for this one.
OMG I can’t wait!!!
Heart Skipped A Beat says
I won´t be able to resist this palette! I love Naked Palette 1 and number 2 looks gorgeous!
Pamela says
Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock?!? Karen, I love that you make so many 80s references! I’m about the same age as you and I totally get each and every joke. Girl, you are wicked awesome!
Kayla says
Ordered mine today, can’t wait to get it!!
Girl Hearts Makeup says
Sigh urban decay, when are you ever going to come up with a matte palette?! Tarte has done it. Too Faced has done it. When will it be your turn??!
artemis says
nice lyrics:D
Lauren says
I can’t wait to get my paws on this!
Lorissa says
I live in Canada ‘_’
I dont want to wait 🙁
Donna says
Got an email that this is back in stock at urbandecay.com and your photo was at the bottom!
Yelena says
you look gorgeous in these pics 🙂
Isabella says
I love this palette so much! I have the Naked palette now, but I can’t wait to purchase this one and one for my sister!
Joyeeta says
Hi Karen,
For someone who wears NC 45 in Studio Fix (medium to dark brown skin – depending on the season – with yellow undertones) which palette would you recommend, 1 or 2? All the reviews online are just confusing the hell out of me!
Thank you!
